Hey big bro Lou! Oh boy. Whoooosh....Whoooosh....THWACK....THWACK!!! That was the sound of my floppy sneakers being yanked off my JV baseball guy feet, flying through the sky and landing against an oak tree 300 ft. away! In my stocking feet and KO'd😵 once again, big bro. Are you at all surprised, man 🤣lol?? This Nova is such a natural beauty all these years later, you know? She's got some nice arcing lines, a bulldog stance and just enough manace with the SS badge and wheels. Beautiful blue color and restoration. Always moves me to see the care these fellow car guys give their rides. A beautiful thing. Thanks big brother Lou! ⚾JV Johnny
Hey JV Johnny, Oak Tree in the distance....NICE! Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
What a beauty
:-)
This was the exact car of my dreams when I first started driving....I would have picked these exact colors and options. What a beautiful restoration, I'm amazed he got it done so quickly!
So amazing to see the car all the way back to original. Thanks Kramden for viewing and commenting, Lou
Your right. It's a real treat to see and "original" Nova. Many were wrecked, raced or modified.
funny...I'm 51 and was about to type the same sentiments but applying right now.
I have never had one but what a great restoration

Outstanding Nova. The small block Novas ran really well. This engine was the L-48 I believe. 350/300hp in 1969 and 1970. A buddy of mine had one with a 4 speed. Ran it completely stock at the track and won quite a few times in the stock class.

My first car was a 1970 Nova, 350/250hp, manual brakes and steering, heavy duty suspension, dual exhaust(only two options). $2900 out the door at Joe Jacobs Chevrolet, Wilmette, Il.

I purchased a 1970 Nova SS brand new at the Chevrolet dealership in Huntington, WV. My first car... It was fathom blue with the 350, 300HP four speed, 351 rear end. Mine did not have the vinyl top, bucket seats nor gauges. It was a bench seat with rubber floor matting instead of carpeting. Mine also did not have the pen striping down the sides. What it had a little later, was a Holley 650 double pumper, aluminum intake, crane cam and lifters, hooker headers and a 410 rear end. With slicks, it consistently ran about a 12 flat in the quarter. Loved that car and wish I had never given it up.
Hi Jesse Blankenship, Happy to read this car / video brings good memories of your 1st car :-) Regarding giving it up, I believe it was Dr. Seuss who said, "Don't be sad it'd gone. Be glad it happened." That quote helps me with people and things I've lost, and I hope it helps you too, Lou
great looking car
Glad you enjoy the looks of this one :-)
Really nice rather rare optioned Nova. Lou, your right, there's nothing I hate more than walking up to a car like this and they open the hood and it's all after market engine and chrome etc...
Hi William Scott, This was a nice original :-) Lou
Lou, I can't tell you how much I love your car !! I've always loved the Novas in paticular, the 1970 being my most favorite body style !! When I was little my papaw had a 1972 ss nova n when I got my 1st job (teenager ) I begged him to sell me that car n he never would !! In my early 20s I bought a 72 ss nova n I loved that car I totalled it (icy roads) ,I was devastated, I literally grieved over that car n still have pictures of her !! I also owned a 77 once n I swear it went down the road slightly sideways (bent frame I believe ).Anyway I'm 45 now n still love these beautiful cars n I hope to own a 1970 like yours someday !!! congratulations on this beauty you have here !!! :)
Jim's car ...... Thank you for sharing Jim n Lou !!! :)
Hi Lucy 05, Glad you "love" the car :-) Look how perfect your timing is, look what car video I loaded today. Please share the video with your car friends, Enjoy! Lou ruclips.net/video/5yrqJfpAW84/видео.html
Lou Costabile THANK YOU Lou !!! :)
My pleasure :-)
cool I had and have original ss nova's in 1995..still have some in my back shed:)Fairbanks Alaska:)
Nice :-)
Very nice restoration. Although i am not sure if those silver finned valve covers were a factory option. Certainly a dealer option.
The wheels appear to be the factory optional 5 spoke, i think 14x7.
Excellent that it has the original AC, very few remain.

Beautiful Nova! Back around 1987, I got a 1972 Nova from a used car dealer. It was all primer gray though - otherwise in pretty good condition. It was a good thing I never invested in restoring it, because my now Ex-wife Cujo ended up with the car and she totaled it. She was a Stephen King novella waiting to happen. Hence her nick-name, Cujo :^)
Ouch ;-(
I would buy that car when bill wants to sell it. No haggling just his price. I had A 1970 nova ss with buckets, a console, turbo 400!trsnny and an LT1 from a corvette. One year green with pinstripes. Built like a tank.
Hi Kevin, Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) Glad to read it reminds you of your car, Lou
Thank you for the members?
You're welcome.
I was going to say you need to do a 1970 Nova. That was the car I grew up in. My dad’s car!
Hi Reynald, Happy to bring back memories of Dad's car :-) NICE! Lou
I have a friend with a 70 Yenko Deuce Nova....Thing's worth a fortune cuz it's a Yenko.
Very cool :-) Thank you for sharing, Lou
There are two, accepted meanings of the word Nova. Both have to do with astronomy. It's often used to refer to a start that is suddenly really bright and it gradually fades back to normal brightness. It can also mean new as it was believed that this suddenly bright star was a newly forming star that flared up as it was forming, anew.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge clyde7059.
Thank you Lou, I would really like if you could get in contact with him as I would like to buy his nova.
Hi Kevin, If you're really interested, e-mail me and add your cell phone # at trupowr@yahoo.com and title the subject line Like to Buy 1970 Nova SS, Lou
Nova also means "New Star".
Hi Bruce Basil, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Lou
no go my ass:) I wiped a rice burner on Richardson highway on to way to work at 6am on Richardson highway at 120 mph on a real ss nova with 120,000 miles on it.. long sold and original. no shit olla and fond memory's:):)
Ahhh, good times :-)
SUPER NOVAS create neutron stars and when neutron stars collide they create gold
:-)
WHAT A GREAT ASS NOVA........ ACALA,TX.
Glad this one is a Winner for you Joel Apodaca :-)
Joel Apodaca didn't know the car was an ass.
very nice! what size tires and wheels?
Hi Nate, Happy to read you enjoy this "very nice!" car :-) Not sure on tire & wheel size, but I'll guess 15 inch rims, Lou
Hey guys I got a 1970 as 350 that was damaged in the northern ca wild fire all original matching numbers. Worth the rebuilding??? Thanks
Hi Kyle, If you have the $ and the time, sure, Lou
There's a mini-tach to the left of the Speedometer, and it's an automatic. Was that normal?
Hi Ken Potter, Hmmm, not sure. Hoping a Viewer can share knowledge, Lou
Lou Costabile My guess is that it was originally a manual. Most switches go the other direction, and they add a huge tach to the steering column.
@@KenPotter back in 1970 you could pretty much order any option you wanted for example you could order a plan Jane Nova six cylinder with a tack, bucket seats and console with floor shifter all not standard equipment, it all depended on how much money you wanted to spend and what you wanted.
Yes the in dash tach was a factory option with the center guage console package option, which has the gas guage.
Standard Nova gas guage is where you see tach.
Yes a 350 was there, but really in 1970, you wanted the 396 at least or maybe the yenko with the 427.
Like this one :-) Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/HYQ3wvyx9tg/видео.html
Yenko didn't offer the 427 in a Nova in '70 . The ones he built in '69 scared the hell out of him . Afraid of lawyers coming after him , he built the LT -1 powered Yenko Deuce instead .
1:22 and 1:30 you are right No= no and VA is shorten version of Vamonos (lets go) No-Va (wont go)

@@loucostabile you got a new sub!
I didn't know they made the SS with the 350
Hi Shittsy Giggle, Glad you learned something on this video. I'm learning on almost every video I do . I find that to be part of the fun :-) Lou
Lou Costabile definitely. Beautiful car. I'm looking at getting one once I get moved in, in Oregon. I've got a 84 sierra with a 350 in it, but would you happen to know if a properly built and maintained 350 could handle being daily driven, but also occasionally doing a thousand mile trip? Not too worried about gas mileage, I think my truck gets 10 on a good day, but I figure instead of getting caught up making payments, just spend the money on a decent classic chevy chassis, which to me, still cannot be topped aesthetically, and just keep a good 350 in it. Just curious, I'm surprised someone replied, I know a decent bit about carbureted motors, I've also daily drive one without any issues, just don't know if they can do 1,000 mile trips and you seem like you may know.
The Yenko Nova Duece was a 350
Most SS cars were 350, including the camaros. Not chevelles though.
The 350 ci was the standard equipped engine for the SS Nova .
Nova means not going in spanish but that didn't hurt sales in mexico

Build sheet ? Nice restored car with all the options. Not very likely. Show me a bill of sale or build sheet plz. I own a 67. 69 & a 70. SS
Hi Steve, I see you really NO VA lot about your cars :-) Lou
Getting tired of videos with cool cars, and music is played instead of being able to HEAR THE CAR!!
Hi Jerry, this video is 10 years old. I like hearing the cars too. If you watch the recent (past 6 years) videos I think you'll "hear" many cars you enjoy, Lou
A SS with a 350?hmm
350 was the base engine for the SS. The big deal was a Yenko or Nickey.
Hmmm.
my 1971 SS had air conditioning to;0
