Testing is a combination of pre-2000s music and the shit we’re gonna be playing in 2030. Rocky is on another level. I don’t even bother arguing with those who say the albums trash, they just don’t see the vision.
iDuke 20 a lot of sample based tracks, and the vibe isn't trap heavy. This album isn't for everyone, I think it's well crafted and pushing what ASAP can be, but it's not something I would have in everyday rotation.
I don't understand why people don't like this album, bars are better than ever, new sound that is a little more experimental, very cohesive project and it's probably my favorite out of all of his albums to date, probably my favorite album of 2018 so far
It's either a genius album to people or straight trash to others. I personally think its one of his best work. Changes is a highlight for me the lyrics are from the heart and the beat switches are on point. OG Beeper i hated at first but its grew on me also. I don't think its a first listen album which puts people off.
Everyone that thinks it’s trash literally is probably just listening to artists that copied ASAP lol personally this album is so different in comparison to a lot of albums out
Took me like 2 listens of the album to fall in love. A lot of people gonna turn it off and leave after the first listen if it doesn't click but that's the risk you take when you make an experimental album
I think it depends how old you are. There's a lot of content belive or not. Very 90's (80's baby 90's made me). That Frank ocean song B! And the Moby track, after EM killed him! #levels
Didnt like this album at all when it first released and now I love almost every song, I think they all sounded too different and strange which threw me off, now I appreciate how unique and memorable they all are
The part where “Gunz n Butter” gets interrupted was from when Yams Day 2018 got shut down, i was there and it was so weird hearing that because I remember right when that do clearly
listened to this album several times and it grew on me more and more every time... then dropped a tab and listened once more fucken Rocky is always ahead of his time
I’m a huge rocky fan and I’ve grown up with Rocky’s music(Freshman when LLA dropped). I feel like LLA was stupid overlooked and was more for people that can actually vibe to rocky as a whole just like testing. ALLA was a great album but I feel like it was more mainstream and more appealing to everyone and now testing is going back to something where if you’re on that level you can really appreciate it. But honestly took me a couple of listens to start actually love the album. Definitely my favorite album of 2018.
I didn’t know people disliked the album until reading the comments ig always thought it was good and felt like all the old ones feels like an asap forever album that everyone wanted I thought
The album that you either love it or you hate it. Stellar samples used and good production throughout the track. A$AP Lives on.
LeBeautiful agreed
😂 the only person i have the same interest with on you tube i guess lebeautiful
LeBeautiful my favorite track is Brotha Man
i neither love nor hate it -- upon several listens i'd assign it a clean 7.4
Damn bro, you and Dat be on every channel in pop culture.

They're stupid artistically and cognitively.
No its just phonk
@@TorTureNaTionPs3 hmmmm
@@prod.thvndr no it's not just phonk
It's all about nostalgia 😔
This more like an album from the 90s but very modern
Pdrew how does that make any sense at all
iDuke 20 he feeling it homie, let him live
iDuke 20 a lot of sample based tracks, and the vibe isn't trap heavy. This album isn't for everyone, I think it's well crafted and pushing what ASAP can be, but it's not something I would have in everyday rotation.
True I felt the same, flow and sample are from the ‘90s yet the drums and the production makes it modern :(

Mike Hawk lows outweighed the highs honestly
I think cohesive isn't an adjective *I* would use
Mike Hawk I mean it’s showing great feed back but then a lot people were just thrown off because of how different it is
More boring than KOD. Never thought I'd see the day.
DJ Devinstation yeah in your opinion of course lol
I think this is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard
crazy this is Rocky's best album & everyone sleeping on it

James Greet Okay haha

I had to listen like 5 times lol now I like it. It was really different than his usual sound
2 months later, still an underrated album. imo.
2 years later and it gets more apreachated but is stil underrated
Ahead of its time , people will look back on this album
nobody can convince me this isn't the most underrated album of the century
old fans were simply disappointed the album is different from the old ones
I’d have to agree. I revisited it after hating it when it first dropped and I think it’s his best work now.
this album is beautiful.
I agree fam. This album gives me so much high school nostalgia its hard to put into words
@@aidanmed1020 same this shit dropped before I graduated this album almost feels like a movie it feels so cinematic and nostalgic at the same time

Brook this album really depends on the listener’s taste. Personally I fw the ol skool vibes. But yea every album I listen to I give 3 plays
Thats true
people who expect substance out of rocky's first real experimental album (LOOK AT THE FUCKING TITLE, it's just testing grounds) are plain dumb.
i love that he worked with Dean Blunt and sampled “Morning Sun” on “CALLDROPS”. The instrumentals throughout are top-notch actually.
also it would be cool if you linked all the samples down in the description for future videos

Great album
A$AP Forever is one of my favorite A$AP Rocky song, freaking love the strings sample
Those drums in fukk sleep sound sooo much like Grief by earl sweatshirt
'U made my heart desire pureeee, just tell me"
Hun43rd is definitely my favorite, that little siren sound sounds so fire slowed down.
Yo good luck with that rap group
Thanks i guess
R.I.P Ameer
litterally the stupidest shit to happen this year
rightfully so
Hey Melon Still, Brockhampton won't be the same without him, but it's understandable why they kicked him.
Hey Melon Yeah It's super shitty what he did and I hope he learns from his mistakes. Still got love for him tho
Black Tom Hanks
The part where “Gunz n Butter” gets interrupted was from when Yams Day 2018 got shut down, i was there and it was so weird hearing that because I remember right when that do clearly
Where's the sample for praise the lord?
@R G so whre is the sample?
@@HoustonRu /watch?v=SwZualgWczY
It was a sample taken from garage band
Bastian Videla Skepta made the beat.
I heard the original song he sampled it from in a yoga class lol. Look up “Flight of the Condor” by Sapa Inca
That OG beeper tho still fireeee
I was waiting on someone to drop all them samples....And that's why ROCKY the GOAT... dope ass video dawg
Underrated project
The "ignore this" sample fucking slaps bruv

Thanks for the vid yo‼️‼️
Another Classic Rocky
This was one of those albums that the more I listened to it the more I loved it
At first i did not fuck with this album but listening to it again i fuck with it more than anything I listened to this year
It’s so funny that this is, in my opinion, the best Rocky project by a mile; but other people hate it. Seems to be extremely split opinions.
This guy reads minds... I was waiting for this video!
Best album of 2018 by far
A$AP - A $ecret Attack: Putin. What does the asap mob have in connection with the Kremlin? Keep asking questions
I said The Kremlin, not the illuminati. illuminati is super American. duh
Who ever produced call drops used great samples

Most people won’t appreciate this album now, give it some time🤧🤷🏿♂️I LOVE IT BTW
sangsung hey two years later just to say you were right
Took me a year to finally sit down and listen. Shit was amazing. Underrated and misunderstood
Awesome video! Only thing that was left out was the sample Rocky used in “Changes” were inspired from the song by UGK “Int’l Players Anthem”

0:14 Porcelain is also sampling from exodus ost.
I thought the sample for toney tone was from “teenager in love” by dion and the belmonts, just slowed down
This Channel should be way bigger
Thank you.
Yoooo, think it's not the OG Version of Cradle to the Grave, but it's DJ Screw's Version, of one of his tapes.
Still amazed he sampled good morning for kids turned out fine. Shoutout Melbourne
I hope this video doesn’t get taken down so I can watch it when I get home
I’m pretty sure he sampled Kirby on “praise the lord” and fixed it up to fit w the song but idk

No, both tracks are produced by the same person
its really just putting gross beat on a drum pattern tho, any producer could do that tbh
@@Monsern99 It's not just the drums, it's also a melody that you can hear in the start of Fukk Sleep
