Considering how old this is now it sounds so fresh still....its so raw it almost sounds "live ". They were a brilliant live band whatever the line up was. You can almost feel the electricity in the guitars. Amazing....a bunch of guys just " rocking" as the song suggests....raw power......real music.....love it 👏👏👏
I think this is one of Lizzy's best early songs,,got to be over 50 years old by now. Eric Bell amazing on this, RIP Phil who was the definition of a rocker
Bought this is '73. For me, their best song, and still in my top 30 favourites. So garage band, so dirty pure. Band saw rhythm - relentless. And it ends on a final Hard Day's Night-like intro chord. Now THIS is how to do it - perfectly.
i bought the single when it first came out in 73 and loved it but the guitar solo was not included on the single so when i bought the album, i had no idea there WAS a guitar solo so was totally blown away when i heard the full length version- still my favourite ever guitar solo all these years later
This is a great statement of intent. I've often found myself thinking of the opening lines when going into tricky situations. Phil Lynott might have had his tongue in his cheek, but he definitely lived the dream of the rocker. The lyrics over the bridge are a reference to Ted Carroll, Lizzy's manager at the time, who ran the Rock On stall at several London markets.
Yep ! Ace , more Thin Lizzy is always appreciated ! Twill say it again "Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous " IMO is one of the best Live Albums ever recorded ! Great Reaction by you Peeps ! Glad you are enjoying this Excellent Band
The Album Vagabonds of the Western World the last with Eric Bell is excellent. The Live/Life version of The Rocker features nearly all the former Thin Lizzy guitarists on it.
@@hanierfamily ever since Father Ted ‘Feck’ has been a go to in UK for swearing without actually swearing 😁.. but in the rep of Ireland it’s ACTUALLY swearing 😆 👍🏴
One for the guitarists out there! I prefer the late 70s version of Thin Lizzy especially with Snowy White eg Chinatown, Killer on the Loose. I did see them live - they were brilliant despite John Sykes...
C n C .. you mentioned other reactors having guest interviews , I’ve only seen one , Rob squad reactions ( which I love btw ) but they had Stuart ’ Woody ‘ Wood , guitarist from early 70’s teen idols The Bay City Rollers , he was briefly famous 50 years ago and though still gigging to this day , they clearly had no idea who he was and he was never the most rock n roll of guys anyway .. it was a shocker btw , 😅don’t be in a rush to go down that fetid alley is my advice 🤯 👍🏴

@@DamienCalnon-uq7zj oooh I was right there with you Damien till you mentioned vagabonds .. not my fav tbh .. their first couple of albums were monumental in my view Vengeance and No Rest . My fav early tracks all feature the original bass player who is my personal bass playing hero along with JJ Burnell , Stuart Morrow . Spirit of the Falklands , Vengeance , No Rest , Notice me ( with the awesome bass line I STILL cannot play at the correct speed 🤯 ) Smalltown England , actually every track on those 2 albums are my fav ever NMA tracks but No Rest is a good basis to start with C n C …👀 👍🏴

Thank you for another excellent video and reaction. Love Eric Bell's guitar work on this track, it raises the song to another level.

I think what is a dream for most of us was reality for Phil Lynott. 🤣🤣🤣

I've been a fan since the 70s. I was lucky enough to of seen them 6 time. Still play them today. Turned up to 11. Rip Phil and gary moore.
Great band 'Thin Lizzy' particularly in their early days all of their early to mid '70s stuff, upto and including "Live and Dangerous".
This is fi the last LP wi the original Line up. The First Three Ps are really good. Well worth a listen.
Always enjoy the show. well done guys.
That was the first time I’ve actually heard the recorded version , excellent! I’m only familiar with the live version on Live and Dangerous.
Classic! There is an excellent Thin Lizzy cover, Gabrielle done by Ween! Peace and joy from New Mexico ✌️🎵
Blew it

Right on, Eric Bell is awesom.
Cheers from the Netherlands.

Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs - Mama live on GTK i sa must see! ;-)
This is still a great version of the song but the one from "Live And Dangerous" is a hundred times better.

No Rest for the Wicked by New Model Army is great. Such a great band. Also, Vagabonds by them with a great violin accompaniment.

check out little Darlin' great upbeat track
always go with the live version from the Live and Dangerous album. the studio recordings are not that good TBH.
Pretty much smacks you upside the head at the start
Just stop.
