Hi Soki, I’m Jimena from Mexico. I really enjoy watching your videos. They’ve helped me to make wiser choices at shopping for perfumes. This video in particular is very illustrative. I’d love to learn more about the perfume world. I’ve become a perfume aficionado thanks to you.
Thank you Soki, this is so interesting how it all works. I really hope some of the acquired smaller companies retain their individuality in their fragrances and that larger companies like Estee Lauder and Loreal that own Tom Ford and Vivienne Westwood will reprise much beloved discontinued fragrances like Boudoir and also Noir Pour Femme, for the fragrance lovers, who really want them back, even if it is in small batches for us to enjoy. Let's hope they listen. I really miss those fragrances. Congratulations on your channel, your perfume and your award. You are so helpful and informative. I will smell Aphrodite when I get to London as we don't have any stock in S. Wales.
Congratulations on your award . Wondering if some celebs actually do get involved in choosing ingredients for their debut maybe not all their perfumes x
GREAAAAAT VIDEO! AND REALLY REALLY HELPFULL! ❤️✨ please let more of such informative videos coming, the entire journey ... From ideation, production, manufacturing and sooooo much more! It interests most people so much about the processes! Much love ❤️
Luxottica is the Italian brand that makes glasses and sunglasses! They make Burberry, Prada, Tiffany, lots of brands. This was very interesting! I was sad when Thierry Mugler was acquired. So many fragrances were discontinued and the quality went downhill a lot.
This is so interesting! Please share more videos like this. I would love to know more about perfumers who made popular or big hit perfumes and about other perfumes they made that may be underrated
This was so interesting that I had to watch it twice! Great information. Your first-hand experience gives this video a deeper perspective. Thank you. I appreciate all your videos, but this one stands out.
Congratulations ! I love this video! Thank you and so informative! I always knew this my husband is a Wall Street guy and my daughter is now in finance. Also LVMH owns Sephora collection! thanks Sophie 💜
That is extremely interesting! I would love to see a series of videos from you regarding this topic! And also I always wondered what Sephora does with their stock of discontinued fragrances, because I noticed discontinued fragrances disappear from Sephora's shelves ultra fast🤔
I LOVED 😍❤ watching this content on your channel, very interesting and informative. I admire you for your passion for perfumery and for making your own fragrances 👏🙌❤ Keep up the great work, you go girl!!!!!! Lots of support 🌺
I have a few videos on it :) HOW I QUIT MY CORPORATE JOB AND STARTED MY OWN BUSINESS | HOW TO BECOME A RUclipsR | Soki London ruclips.net/video/lg1qAVgx56A/видео.html
Soki, hi from a Brazilian in Turkey!😘💜. I loved this topic! Has a huge industry behind our favorite brands. Mine is Dolce and Gabanna, and Versace. Identification, i think! My question is about perfumists. Who create the fragances. Why are the same names, "like a circle" around creations? Like Olivier Cresp, Dominique Ropion, Aurelien Guichard etc. Kisses and kisses!🥰😘🇧🇷🇹🇷
I would like you to speak about the molecules used in the perfume and why Hermes does not launch any commercial fragrances no more expecially for women
That was really interesting, I had no idea how the industry works, so thank you. When companies discontinue a perfume, is it purely based on lack of sales? There are so many perfumes I've loved over the years that have been given the last rites and passed on and I've never been able to find anything similar. So annoying.
Hi, Soki! New subscriber here. Been loving your videos for weeks now, especially this one. ❤ So informative! Congratulations on Fragrantica! One thing came to my mind as I'm watching you: dupes! I noticed there are now like around 5 perfume dupe stores in UK like noted.aromas, loris(?), essence vault, etc. Do you know anything about their perfume production? Like quality, oil percentages or just how they know to mimic popular scents? I'm now wondering about longevity of their fragrances, if it'll change much faster... only costing under £25. Next video perhaps? Love to you, cheers!
I have a few videos on the different dupe perfumes. The majority of the cost of expensive perfumes like Dior are marketing and huge staff costs so I think that’s how’s they do it
Great topic! A lot of behind the scenes smoke and mirrors. These high dollar brands are gouging us with these prices all the while reformulating making these fragrances watered down. I mean I’m calling out Jo Malone brand highly known for their expensive fragrances that last a millisecond on the skin. It’s a multi-billion dollar market and their riches are thanks to the common person living paycheck to paycheck who can barely afford these small luxuries. Go ahead Soki and disrupt away! Thank you! 🙏🏼
hehe thank you! It's scary being a disrupter but exciting too! Jo Malone annoys me a lot as she isn't involved with the brand at all and colognes are so weak I think their prices are silly. I have to say I always see there stores and concessions empty these days...
@@SokiLondon it’s not right . t seems like there’s no oversight at all. As long as those profit margins look plentiful for them, they’ll continue to tout themselves as “niche” to squeeze the most out of their consumers. You be our trail blazer!! Soki for President! lol 😁❤️
Its an interesting topic indeed Soki! My congratulations on winning the fragrantica award! One subject would be interesting for me woting and comments on fragrantica. How much is it real? :)
This explains why Gucci by Gucci has been discontinued. Still looking for it's reincarnation. There was nothing else like it and seemingly no reason to stop making it. Maybe the licensing situation knocked it out. Anybody know another perfume that smells the same? There's a gap in the market to reproduce it as a new fragrance.
Soki!! Do you have any knowledge on why la Vie est Belle Soleil cristal has been discontinued? Unfortunately your coconut perfume it's not available in my country
Very interesting. I had my disillusioning moment when I heard it said that a luxury fragrance like Chanel, may very well be created in the same factory that creates Clorox bleach (maybe not exactly true, but you get my point). Chanel fragrances are not created in some cute workshop in Paris....
Congratulations on your award from Fragrantica for your perfume Aphrodite.
Thank you so much!
This is an interesting topic! Thank you for making this and congratulations on your Fragrantica award! ❤
Thank you 🤩
Very interesting thank you 😊
I didn't know! I have a bigger appreciation for your perfumes! Now you need to make a stronger version of chanel chance en tendre!

Congratulations! That's awesome Soki. Aphrodite is such an addictive scent experience. Thank you for this creation..
It really is!
Do you have a video going through how notes in a perfume work? I find it interesting how it goes from scent to the next. Never knew how that worked
this is the most interesting video you have ever made about perfumes. You did great 😊
Wow, thank you!

I think they might be on sale or return with the brand. Then the brands sell them to discount shops like TK Maxx
Super interesting and easy to understand explanation! Thank you for taking the time to explain.
Amazing video! I had an idea on how it works but it’s always intriguing 😉
💕💕💕

3rd largest maker is Givaudan

I think it is the sales and also they have to choose whether to spend money creating new stock or do a new launch I guess
@@SokiLondon Thanks for that 👍. I'm currently working my way through a Byredo discovery set to see if anything peaks my interest.
Super interesting!
I think so too!

Yes I can ship to Australia :) www.shop.sokilondon.com/
Thank you for sharing this.😊

I’ve always wondered where perfumes come from , and how are they made, very interesting
🥰
Very interesting!
Very!
Congrats 🎉
That is very interesting, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Very good information
Thank you!
That was great Sophie very interesting to know. What happens to all the stock in shops that don’t sell? Does the maker take back the stock ?
I think they might take it back and it ends up in discount shops like TK Maxx. Though they keep the stock in the shops relatively low
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
wow congratulations💚💚💚

Excellent video eye opening
Much appreciated
I wish you had distributor also in North America. I wanted to buy your fragrances, but shipping to Canada was CAD70.
hopefully one day!
Soki... please come up with longlasting uplifting fresh fragrance with a good silage that i can wear in hot climate .
Aphrodite is exactly this!
And I thought brands made thier own fragrances. Thanks for clearing that up. Smelling fabulous shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
Glad it was helpful x
Soki!! Do you have any knowledge on why la Vie est Belle Soleil cristal has been discontinued? Unfortunately your coconut perfume it's not available in my country
Not that I know of, but I will ask them :)

unfortunately it's true!
I'd like to hear more about animal testing and also vegan ingredients.
Thank you.
Do you know of perfumes that smell similar to Armani Code Cashmere? Unfortunately Armani Code Cashmere was discontinued 😢
I think that one was almond so maybe try Elie Saab girl of now
very interesting thank you 🙂 🏵️🌹💖
Thanks for watching
Very interesting
What about Niche perfumes? Are they mass produced by huge corporations too?
It depends on the brand. Some which appear independent like Penhaligon’s are owned by the big brands
How does one learn to become a perfumer?
There are special universities I think :)
There is a school in Grasse, France.
❤️❤️❤️
Hy soki❤❤❤❤❤❤
Talk about Penaligan
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I thought as much from what you are saying
Hey! Not to be rude but, if you don’t want 39, I’ll take it!
Its a scam most edt are stronger than edp go figure
Hy how are you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
👋
I find that some of these perfumes smell alike, not good at all
definitely! They stick with what they know sells
Soki 🤍 congrats on your award. So deserved!
This was very interesting.
I loved this.
