GTR Lighting's LED Resistor kit is used to trick the vehicle into thinking the low drawing LED bulb is a stock bulb. When installing the GTR Lighting LED resistor kit make sure to install it on to metal. DO NOT attach the resistors to plastic or rubber. The resistors can reach a temperature of up to 240 degrees.
Finally a clear professional video on this procedure. And under 5mins!
Glad you liked our video, did it help?
Correction at 0:38... The new LED bulbs have a higher resistance than the incandescent bulbs.
FuzzyJohn no
I almost didn't think twice about that till I saw your comment. very true.
Thanks!
For vehicles with a flasher relay, it's MUCH easier to just replace it
with an ADJUSTABLE RATE FLASHER. Maintains lower current draw and
adjustable rate knob is very nice!
Many vehicles do not have the option of replacing the flasher module because it's controlled by the ECM. Most cars and trucks manufactured after 2004 do not have upgradeable flasher modules, therefore, the resistors is the best option. We agree that if you can get an "electronic" or "LED" flasher module for your vehicle that is by far the better option.
Is water resistance tolerable? For example, in rainy conditions? I wonder how it is installed behind the lighthouse runs that risk. Or is it harmless?
No water issues with these!
I am installing load resistors for my Toyota Tacoma. It will be the
front signals so I have to put them in under the hood somewhere. What
happens if they get wet during the rain?
They should be somewhat hidden as they are not specifically designed to be in the weather, but if they get wet from time to time that is fine.
Resistor wire aluminium install used for slower flashing
👍
you have to have a load resistor on front and rear if you have front and rear led turn signals?
Correct, you will need one resistor per LED bulb.
Can I use this type of resistor for the hyper flash, HEI TMC-50 50W , 6R 1% Suncore M1549, if you can help me please, thank you and nice vid 👍
Yes, these resistors are for hyper flash for help on the exact one you need send us an email!

Hello, I `m kindly asking if I change to LED headlight 9005/HB3 on a 2005/6 Toyota Camry will I need load resistors, if so will the 50w 6rj be best?
Please reach out to sales@gtrlighting.com Our support team will be able to help!
Use led to save energy less consumption but if i put resistor how much energy i consume is it same to the bulb
That is correct, with how those computers are they will need to be tricked. That is why we have these resistors!
Hi friend, is there a problem if the resistance is placed there? No problem with water in the resistance or in the plastic union?
Water will not be an issue with these!
Will this solve my hyperflash and warning on dashboard when i turn on my blinker for a few minutes.
My led turn signal has a built in resistor and im using it for my front and rear blinkers.
Thanks
Yes it will. Those bulbs work resistorless for a minute or two. That works great for most people, but a resistor will work indefinitely.
Hello GTR Lighting do you have this tutorial installed on a BMW E46? tail light harness?
Unfortunately, we do not have an install video for that vehicle, and that one will be a little harder than most as they have that metal board on the back of the taillight housing instead of the general connectors with wires. It will take some custom wiring to get those working in that application.
Quand je mets les résistances dans les phares, est-ce que la température du moteur les affecte ?
No, the engine temperature will not affect anything. The resistors themselves get really hot so avoid mounting them on plastic.
is this the same wiring pattern for LED fog lights, too?
Normally you wouldn't need resistors for fog lights, but yes.
I did the same but mine didn't work. I am sure the wiring I made has no mistake. When I first start the car, there is error code and when I blink the signals, the first 3 blink is fast (hyperflash) then it blinks normal. After using both signals, the error code is gone. Turning the engine off and starting again, the whole process repeats. How can I solve it?
We are sorry that you are having issues. Depending on the vehicle you may need some additional components. Please contact us via phone or email and we will help you sort out what you need to get your light working properly. Thank you for reaching out to us for help.

Would each front signal bulb need a resistor or just one side?
Every bulb that blinks requires a resisstor.
Why would my taillights hyper flash only on one side of my truck??? 2011 F-150..
Sounds like a resistance issue!
Hello I got led bulbs with resistors and the resistors get very hot. What is a solution for that?
They are supposed to get hot! Mount them to a metal surface and you’re good to go.
GTR Lighting ok thank you!
Can we save power in putting resistor
Not sure what you mean here, but you will need a resistor for any of those LED turn signal bulbs.
Can these be used on headlights? I.e. H7?
We have resistor harnesses that will plug in in line with something like that!
For an H7, you can use an H4 harness and eliminate one of the tabs!

I have a '07 Jeep Grand Cherokee. One bulb is used for the tail light, brake light & turn signal. I installed a resistor on the correct wires (negative & turn signal). The tail, brake & turn all worked with the stock bulb (3157). I replaced it with a LED bulb (3157). The brake light & turn signal worked but the tail did not. I reinserted the LED bulb the opposite way and then only the tail worked. Hmmm? Any ideas/suggestions? Thank you!
You need a "C/K compatible" bulb like the GTR Lighting Carbide Series bulb here:
gtrlighting.com/gtr-lighting-carbide-series-3156-3157-led-bulbs-c-k-compatible/
The problem that you're running into is caused by using a bulb not designed for the circuit your Jeep uses. These LED bulbs in the link above work with your type of tail light circuit.
So it also has no error on canbus cars?
These would help resolve those issues!
What ohm resistor did you use?
50w 6 ohm!
Not trying to be an ass, but wouldn't an electronic flasher be easier for LED turn signals?
Please expand on what an electronic flasher is and he w exactly you would connect that to the wiring loom and have it work as indicators.
What if You install the LEDs but your blinkers don't even blink
Try flipping them 180 degrees and they should work. If you're still having issues please give us a call or email us and our team will happily assist you.
