While Option A offers a 20% chance of not losing anything, the expected loss is still higher (£3,200) compared to the guaranteed loss in Option B (£3,000).
Since the probability of avoiding the loss in Option A is low (only 20%), Option B is generally the better choice because it results in a lower expected loss overall.

3200 is the expected value of the choice (4000*0.8). It's tied to game theory but what he says is ultimately correct, it's better to do the choice with a higher EV
