Still one of my favourite racing games of all time.
I remember being about 12, getting a lend of a PS3 and hearing Pendulum's Slam come on and thinking that Motorstorm was the best game I'd ever played. And that was just the demo!
Terrain deformation is one of those things that should have been way bigger in todays offroad games. Just like complete destruction of environments and other things pioneered in the early 2000's, it all got put on the backburner while everyone focused on adding more pixels to everything. They chose the wrong path. I'd give anything for proper AI competition and real-time terrain deformation in a racing game. I don't need 8k HDR graphics.
The need for devs just to put on more shiny graphics hasn't even worked out that well! The promised 4k 60fps paradise of the current gen has not materialised, all while physics, interactive environments and AI have taken a backseat and are now possibly worse than 15 years ago.
That summarizes most of my issues with Triple A games. Too much emphasis on making things pretty and not enough on making them fun. The new Battlefields should have even bigger levelutions rather than what got now, for example
None of them were anywhere near "nearly perfect", they were pretty good, so was Driveclub. All of the Motorstorms had major issues ESPECIALLY with rubber banding. Driveclub had the same issue, pretty to look at but issues also with rubber banding. Nothing with rubber banding that bad is anywhere close to perfect. Its piss poor design when no matter how perfect you drive they make sure the AI is always right on your ass

Awesome documentary! 👍 Missing the series still to this day. This game teached me to love arcade racing instead of sim racing. Had a fantastic soundtrack on MS1 and one of the most competitive online racing. Everything about felt so raw but in a good way. Even then it was pretty refined in its car handling and had quite some easter eggs in its paint jobs and car referencing of real world cars. The 'camper' dropping of the cliff at the end was my go to car for pacific rift. I always remember that car first as it was so weighty on its rear axle. So bonkers to drive such cars, and having numetal on the speakers. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
It's a shame Sony pretty much only makes the same game now. 3rd person open world or semi open world, rpg lite "adult" stuff. Would love to see a new motorstorm like the 1st and 2nd or killzone, resistance.... All sorts really
That Motorstorm demo was so awesome! I never played the series but seeing a major jump in graphics, physics and sound was what the PS3 desperately needed at the time.
I rememeber playing the demo of motorstorm back in day at best buy and it blew me away. It was such an amazing experience playing this game and i loved every second of it. I really miss motorstorm :(
I still love and often play the first two MotorStorm games. I own apocalypse but it just never felt like a true MotorStorm game to me. I play it but don't care for it all that much.
Motorstorm was definitely a big favorite of mine. I remembered playing the first one at a restaurant where the kids area had PlayStations to try out. The most I’ve played was on Arctic Edge the PSP version with the wonderful customization options. I missed this series.
I wish they remaster this or remake or something. I freaking miss chaotic racers like this and Burnout series omg pleeeaaassseeee I'd play these types of games with my little bro until dawn back then, Motorstorm on the PSP and everything, all of it.

Motorstorm was the first game I ever played on ps3 and seeing it in 60 frames on my friends dads ps3 since the system cost 600 back then was crazy. I bought the pacific game and absolutely loved the tropical environment with rain and fire effects. I played the demo for the apocalypse game and loved it as well but it’s a shame they never made another one.
Super good video in general but damn that intro cg clip with the plates and the name of the game imprinted on the mud goes super hard. Kudos to the vizdev team!
omg thank youuuuu for making this video... Motorstorm that came with the original PS3 was amazing, my dad and I only wished it was split screen! Online was crazy and getting that 'God' Rating was super satisfying
Totally slept on Motorstorm back in the '00s. I started building up a solid PS3 library about 5 years ago and had fallen absolutely in love with the series.
Apocalypse is soooo underrated. Love Pacific Rift too. I want a remaster trilogy on PS5 so badly. Some of my favorite games of all time, they really don't make games like these anymore.
been watching your videos for a while now, first videos i watched were i think the C&C documentary, or the R6 Patriots one. Both an absolute tragedy that happened to those projects. watching the documentaries for those games though was thoroughly satisfying. since then i've been keeping an eye out for new videos and was never disappointed if ever. my hope, is that some day you get to make a video on a prior project that is making a successful comeback. like so many brands i miss these days.
It's sad how games back then even in the 7th generation of consoles had more variety and fun gameplay experiences, then compared to games of today. It's gotten so bad that people who want to make games like Motorstorm are just being ignored by punlishers and modern day consumers, because now games have to be interactive movies, then them being actual games anymore. I love the racing game genre ever since I got to play Need for Speed Underground 2 on my PS2 for the first time. Since then I fell in love with the genre, but as years go by, the more of that genre becomes bland & forgotten. We truly live in the dark ages of gaming.
As always your content is wonderful. Absolutely love the first Motorstorm and quite like Pacific Rift too. It's got a different vibe to the bonkers first one though. Soundtrack is just as bad ass. Only played a little of Apocalypse and didn't really get on with it, but it influenced another great and over the top game called Split Second. Never played Arctic Edge. Lovely tribute indeed. I'd absolutely love of Evolution studios made a return to Motorstorm and ticked all the right boxes. Doing a Motorstorm game on PS5 would likely look exactly as awesome as the 2005/6 CGI release trailer, if not even better 😃😄
One of the best games ever made, when I was getting tired of my PS2 (Due to owning an Xbox360) this is the game that reignited my passion for it for MONTHS.
Motorstorm is a legendary franchise along with Gran Turismo, NFS, and Midnight Club. Maybe by the time PlayStation 6 arrived, they could ressurect Motorstorm.
I wish I was a little bit earlier to witness the entire series flowed with me. I've only played MS:A but it was perfect enough to experience. Alas, it was too late for me to miss out on MS:PR which I later found even crazier than Apocalypse. It's intro officially blew my mind. Without any doubt, this franchise deserves to be exhibited in a video game museum if there's any around.
The original Motorstorm will always be a memorable milestone in gaming for me. Being a fan of all kinds of racing games, Motorstorm was the first game where I finally got to test out my skills against other players online. I played the absolute hell out of it. Would love to see a remaster of the original.

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
One of the first victims of the "GaaS-efication" of the gaming industry. Driveclub and Evolution Studios, you will be sorely missed.
Just imagine a Motorsport game on PS5!
Current-day sony doesn't care.
They'd rather give you an overwatch clone with ugly characters with pronouns.
Done, 7 season passes, 2 cars on launch and 50 to be released as DLC, you can pay to skip races, awesome!
@@Mecks089why can’t we have games with normal looking people anymore, IDGAF you purple hair creeps are NOT NORMAL NOT EVER WILL BE
Motorstorm was ahead of it's time in terms of terrain physics.
The only channel I've ever paid a sub for on RUclips. Y'all please keep making great content. I'm a fan I'm a fan I'm a...
The land braces itself...
It’s a damn shame Sony gutted and closed Evolution and Studio Liverpool. I really would love to see a new wip3out and a new motorstorm
It's a shame Sony pretty much only makes the same game now. 3rd person open world or semi open world, rpg lite "adult" stuff.
Would love to see a new motorstorm like the 1st and 2nd or killzone, resistance.... All sorts really
God I miss this series why cant we get a HD remaster for the trilogy in current day?
Gvmers we rise again ❤
That Motorstorm demo was so awesome! I never played the series but seeing a major jump in graphics, physics and sound was what the PS3 desperately needed at the time.
I rememeber playing the demo of motorstorm back in day at best buy and it blew me away. It was such an amazing experience playing this game and i loved every second of it. I really miss motorstorm :(
Motorstorm Pacific rift is one of the best racing games of all time. I bought a PS3 JUST to play it
I was waiting for this for years
I still love and often play the first two MotorStorm games. I own apocalypse but it just never felt like a true MotorStorm game to me. I play it but don't care for it all that much.
i stumbled unto onrush sometime ago and i enjoyed that so much. didn't know that game had so much history behind it :'(
It was such a sad end for this developer that made the game with passionate and then dissapeared caused by their console publisher's agenda
Motorstorm online is back. You all should play it again if you’re missed to play them
I think I’m gonna start making videos on apocalypse again. I took a break and I’ve been doing the old grid games
02:20 - I liked this title card. Whoever did it, good job! 😃👍

I am currently working on the idea of putting motorstorm maps into the BeamNg game. i have currently been able to make a portion of gold rush from motorstorm psp playable.
my dream is to convert everey Pasific Rift mapos. but it takes a long times. Motorstorm is a underated game, and i really wish they could remake them all into pc
Motorstorm was 30fps
Pacifit Rift was such a brilliant game
Super good video in general but damn that intro cg clip with the plates and the name of the game imprinted on the mud goes super hard. Kudos to the vizdev team!
I still remember seeing Motorstorm for the first time at Target in 2006. The graphics and crash physics were very impressive.
omg thank youuuuu for making this video... Motorstorm that came with the original PS3 was amazing, my dad and I only wished it was split screen! Online was crazy and getting that 'God' Rating was super satisfying
You guys have the absolute highest quality videos
Pacific Rift was they peak, amazing game! This style of gaming could comeback any faster, I guess. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Totally slept on Motorstorm back in the '00s.
I started building up a solid PS3 library about 5 years ago and had fallen absolutely in love with the series.
i miss this sort of games :(
My favorite arcade racing franchise!
This is so weird. I swear like two weeks ago I was thinking of this game but couldn’t remember the name! I loved this!!!
Apocalypse is soooo underrated. Love Pacific Rift too. I want a remaster trilogy on PS5 so badly. Some of my favorite games of all time, they really don't make games like these anymore.
This was definitely one of my favorite racing games, such a shame evolution studies is gone 😢
I loved Apocalypse. Its was just the amount of crazyness that felt perfect for the series. Shame we never got PS4/PS5 versions.
Thanks!
been watching your videos for a while now, first videos i watched were i think the C&C documentary, or the R6 Patriots one.
GVMERS voice is ICONIC. Pls never stop 😊
Great video good to have you back!
One of the games I had for my launch PS3. Absolutely banging soundtrack and a real shame what's happened to a great series.
This dudes voice is so nice, reminds me of the dude from how it’s made. Is it a real person or AI?
The original Motorstorm will always be a memorable milestone in gaming for me. Being a fan of all kinds of racing games, Motorstorm was the first game where I finally got to test out my skills against other players online. I played the absolute hell out of it. Would love to see a remaster of the original.
39:04 Ah, the audio i can tell is from Battlefield 3 Fault Line gameplay video 😅
Havent played motorstorm in years until recenlty going on an emulation binge on my pc and my god is it fun. Its easy to learn but has a lot of tech and some really good vistas
Best gaming channel on RUclips!;you guys are great!
An excellent profile on a absolute fantastic favorite on the PS3, I would get a PS3 just to play this series, it's so great!
"MotorStorm Pacific Rift" is my favorite of the 3 games, incredible physics, vehicle views & massive air!
I discovered this series recently and fell in love with it. I purchased all 4 games immediately. It's now one of my favourite racers along with burnout.
