Janáček's music is so linguistic...how could he write in every line of tears, every fragment of nostalgic recollections so sincerely and flawlessly...as if uttering few words beneath the profound weeping...composing music as Janáček did requires the most honest heart which is been deprived of the pursuit of perfectionism.
Leoš Janáček is so underrated, at least in the English-speaking world. Not enough people know about him. I only found out by accident about 15 years ago
I’m just getting into Janacek’s music. I’m a classically trained pianist. This is some of the most beautiful piano music I’ve ever heard. Thank you for posting.
The main theme of The Virgin of Frydek (9.44 - 10.25) is absolutely stunning. So melancholy, so fragile, like looking at the Autumn rain and feeling your soul bursting in the droplets.
Extraordinaire ambiance, qui de sa poésie ne lâche jamais l'auditeur... Pur génie. À la fois toujours évident et inattendu dans son discours musical...
Kvapil is the perfect performer for ths book of miniatures full of nostalgy with its allusive harmonies which generally avoid traditional links and cadenzas. Janacek used to wor kcarefully with small motives rathe r than long, romantic-like themes. This makes thois book a marvel of deep feeling and recollections.
This is a lovely rendition. I have been listening to Firkusny's. This seems to me more personal and more contemplative, and thus more beautiful. Thank you.
Renditions of Janáček's works accompannied by a video of the score is what RUclips should ideally be for. Love your channel, and I have just came accross it.
@@EmdrGreg -- Oh no, I ADORE sour cream, especially with elderberries and blini; however, I DO object when otherwise great musical composers take their names after food staples. Not for nuthin', but in contrast Rachmaninoff (Rahmaninov) owes his name to the Qur'aan's "Fatihah" -- "Bismi l'Allah w'RAKHMAN [the All-Merciful] w Rakheem...." A better choice than fermenting milk......I'm jus sayin'.....
Janacek wrote two interesting folders of piano pieces; in the mists and on an overgrown path (this one divided into two folders). He uses his technique of varied repatition of small and simple melodic cells (sometimes symbolizing natural sounds). One may think about the possible influence of Debussy, but Janacek once said: "I have nothing to do with the Franch impressionism" (Debussy did not accept the world "impressionism, but that is another story). The two folders are pure delights.
Has your channel risen from the dead? It's great to see this back again: I look forward to many great uploads, and pray that the same fate doesn't befall you again...
+Haotian Yu I saved all the files, and I'm re-uploading (almost) everything to this channel. So if ever something happens again, we can easily start anew :)
+olla-vogala seconded. I wonder how many people are like me and these score channels are one of their primary hobbies (or just score study in general). Your channel is easily one of the greats
Berliozboy Thank you! However, this channel may disappear as well, since I recently received two copyright strikes. I've made a new channel, just in case. (watch my latest video)
Makes you feel like you have memories that aren’t your own
I think that's a very good description!
Wow, exactly!

+SeanPi314 I agree with your words: flawless and sincere fragments of nostalgic recollections; that is a very good description of Janacek I think!
SeanPi314 you description is as genius as his music - thank you!
Sean
I would say, "spared of" the pursuit of perfectionism. To his and our good fortune.

Deserves so much more love. Masterpiece.

Firkusny's is more stressful. This is deeper and reflective, and more beautiful and illuminating. Entrancing music and recording.
@@tomowenpianochannel - Firkusny is an excellent pianist, without doubt. But I find him a little mechanical.
Janacek's piano works have a similar intimate and nostalgic quality to Schumann's miniatures. I love these pieces.
Beautiful music to welcome the New Year.

My pleasure, Jan :)
My piano teacher just recommended me these pieces. I think I will be learning them all after New Years XD
Same pianist as Dvorak's "Poetic..."Op.85. This guy is really such a pleasure to listen to.
I love this suite. Janáček is Czech and I had a wonderful trip to the Czech Republic a couple of years ago.
Smetana too was Bohemian but I was told that him name meant "sour cream" and so I never visited Česko-Slovensko.
@@steveegallo3384 Who doesn't like sour cream? It is an excellent ingredient in many foods. I just checked. Smetana means cream, not sour cream.

This is terrific. My favourite piece on your channel. Thanks for what you do :)
This piece is so underrated
The rhythms in this piece just make my mind go O_o

one can literally feel the anxiety and infinite sadness of the death of Janáček's daughter Olga
17:18-17:28 is a glimpse of heaven.
