The way these two played(and still somehow play) football was unbelievable. CR7 made me fall in love with football. Power, precision, movement, "flawless" if you will. Well it actually is the best era. Sure we don't have as many top tier players as maybe the 80's but usually in an era there's a definitive GOAT. As a kid I was a Ronaldo fan and wanted to score goals while playing football but then as I growing up I was a HUGE Messi fan and thought he was the best ever, didn’t really appreciate Ronaldo as much as Messi but looking back at it I should’ve just appreciated them both at the same time, we were lucky enough to witness both of these players for like 10-15 years, we will never see the likes of either of them again, battling against each other at the highest level for that long, it’s actually unbelievable and we got extremely lucky, in years looking back we will be so sad that these two will have retired, legends

We probably won't see another rivalry lasting this long ever again. Most players retire at the age of 34 or 35 but Ronaldo and Messi are still at the top. They are truly exceptional. Love one but respect both. It's still hard to believe that this golden era is almost coming to an end.
