if I were to start a basketball team Larry would be my first pick every time. I wouldn't even have to think about it.
I thought about the same thing and I have a hard time choosing between Jordan and Bird...
Bird would be up there. Jordan. Magic. Iavaroni. Kareem. Hard to say.

Larry Legend
Larry was and still is the best!!!
Look for every Bird video you can find. True legend
So awesome you reacted to Bird.
He’s the best! There’s a lot of videos of him, and I hope you continue doing more.
Thank you!
More to come!
Larry is one of 3 men to win the league’s MVP award 3 consecutive years. But in addition to that, in the years prior and after he was 2nd in the voting. In fact he was 1st or 2nd in the MVP voting EIGHT years in a row. Very dominant player in his prime. 🏀
I'll keep it brief, because I could literally write a biography on Larry Bird. First, in the playoff game against the Indiana Pacers, not only did Bird fracture his cheek, he also had a concussion and double vision. He still came back with 3 minutes left in the Third quarter and scored 17 points over the last part of the game to lead the Celtics back to victory. Second, Larry Bird vs. Earven Magic Johnson is arguably the single greatest personal rivalry in sports history. Not just basketball - ALL of sport. Last, I recommend watching Larry Bird's Most Savage Moments. So good.
Larry took Indiana freaking state to the championship game against magics Michigan state Spartans, its like Namibia going to the finals of the rugby world cup
My favourite fun fact about Larry is from an interview after the Pacers game:
Larry got asked, because he had double vision, if he aimed for the right or the left basket?
Larry replied that it didn't matter cause he hit it either way.
Woo hoo! Another Larry newbie! I love watching ppl take this journey! Remember: LARRY LEGEND IS A UNICORN AND THE TRUE GOAT 🐐 ☘️
You are right 🦄🐐
The night they retired his number ,it was an off night and it sold out
Look at that look in his eye at 9:35. Killer
Unlike most retirement ceremonies, Larry’s retirement was on a night without a game & it was sold out. Larry ended up going on to Coach the Indiana Pacers for 3 years (he won Coach of the year) & then he worked in the front office (he won Executive of the year as well). Larry is the ONLY NBA player to win Rookie of the Year, MVP, Finals MVP, Coach of the Year, & Executive of the Year.
Larry Bird - Greatest Passer Of All Time (Re-edit with new footage), 15 minutes of silky smooth passing.
Larry is still in the game, went on to coach, and now owns, the Indiana Pacers.
After playing Bird went on to coach the Indiana Pacers and then went into the front office as president of basketball operations. He retired from that in 2017.
Larry Bird went on to coach the Indiana Pacers and won Coach of the Year and, after he moved into the front office, won the Executive of the Year award. His list of accomplishments is staggering.
just put "larry bird passing re-edit" and "larry bird trash talking" in the search and you shall be enlightened on the type of beast this man was
Yep!
Larry Legend……..absolute beast
I grew up in the 80’s right outside of Boston. I got to see Bird and the Celtics play when I was 12 years old. One of my best memories.
Gotta check out Larry bird trash talking vid
What you should look at next is the 1992 Dream Team. Bird, Johnson, Jordan
He just went on to get coach of the year and executive of the year.
Lucky enough to have seen him play in Atlanta
Larry bird is absolutely a mega star. One of the top players of all time. He would be my first pick in the draft.
Yeah, the dude fractured his cheek, had a concussion, had double vision but still came back and won the game. My Dad and I watched all the Boston Celtics games from when Bird came into the league until he retired. Those were the days.
Hi from Indiana! My favorite reaction videos to watch are Bird reactions so I am excited for this!! He is the GOAT in my humble opinion :) Gonna watch the reaction now and you may get a new sub 🙂
Larry Bird is a legend...he could make you look so stupid on the court. He told the opposing team exactly what he was about to do, and they still couldn't stop him. GOAT for sure.
That's the way to start a reaction to basketball players, I'm a Larry the legend fan, react to more of his videos, you'll love them, stay safe and God bless always, new subscriber from the Phillipines
Magic Johnson and Larry Bird: A Courtship of Rivals Basketball
There's a video on his passing worth the watch.
Larry bird is top 5 dead or alive. Imagine a man telling you what he is about to do to you and you can't stop him. He was clutch. A savage. Larry Bird videos get views.
One player who played against both Larry Bird and Michael Jordan had this to say about how different they where. "I'm giving the ball to Jordan to hit the 3 to win a game. But if you told me my life depends on making the 3, I'm giving it to Larry."
You need to watch the Larry Bird trash talk compilation
You should check out his passing re-edit and his assist video. You’ll see exactly why he is the GOAT. Bird could do it all ❤
Thank you so much for reacting to Larry! If you want to watch another great Bird video I’d check out Larry Bird Trash Talking.
Edit-I’d also recommend reacting to 5 times Larry Bird Was Injured and Refused to Quit and 4 Crazy Moments that Prove Larry Bird Was the Toughest Player in the NBA. These videos explain all of the injuries Larry dealt with during his career. They show just how much more impressive he was playing at the highest level with these injuries.
YES, please!
Bird was the word 👍 Check out his trash talking. He was the best and he could back it up!
I became a Bird fan when he took the unranked Indiana State team to a 33-0 season. Then to the finals of the NCAA Tournament where they lost to Magic Johnson’s over loaded with talent Michigan State team. I followed his career as a Boston Celtic fan even though I was from Chicago Bulls town. If you delve into the debate about the GOAT of professional basketball, and after you watch all the videos, save Larry’s passing video for last. Larry Bird does all that they all can do, but none other can even come close to his extraordinary passing like a quarterback abilities.
The man honoring Bird with the signed jersey is Earvin "Magic" Johnson.
The two shared a rivalry dating back to college, and throughout their professional careers. After initially disliking each other, they became blood brother friends - even as they competed.
In 1991, Johnson tested positive for HIV. In that era, there was a huge stigma to the disease. Many players, even teammates, distanced themselves and threatened to boycott games if Johnson were to play.
Larry was amongst the first to call Magic and to offer whatever help and support he could.
Larry and Magic are widely considered two of the three greatest players in the game's history. Having been around to watch them during their careers, I have to concur. They are the basketball equivalent of Lennon and McCarthy. It is impossible to mention one without the other.
There was no game the night he retired. Packed an arena just to say goodbye to Larry Bird.
Incredible
You should check out Magic and Bird A Courtship of Rivals its the best documentary ever
The “Making the Case” series is a good watch. I’d start with Larry Bird since you’ve been introduced to him & then finish the series.
For those that think Larry Bird was not as good as he really was. This comment is for those whom never had the chance to see him play.
Little know thing about Larry to those that never saw him play , he could effect the outcome of a game and never take a shot thats how devastating his passing skills were. Here is one thing that most fans (people) either don't know or try to ignore, prior to Larry joining the NBA there was no such thing as a three point line, that came in when Bird was starting his first year off in his NBA career. Just think about what would todays game be without the three point line or if the line was one foot farther out like it was when it was first introduced. Food for thought.
At that time it was not about the individuals stats it was about the win. But if you need some stats here you go:
Here are some of Larry Bird's notable career achievements and statistics:
Three-time NBA champion (1981, 1984, 1986); Two-time NBA Finals MVP (1984, 1986); Three-time NBA MVP (1984-86); 12-time NBA All-Star (1980-88, 1990-92); Nine-time All-NBA First Team (1980-88);
All-NBA Second Team (1990); Three-time All-NBA Defensive Second Team (1982-84); NBA Rookie of the Year (1980); NBA All-Rookie Team (1980); Three-time NBA Three-Point Contest champion (1986-88);
Career-high in points: 60 (March 12, 1985) -- tied for franchise record with Jayson Tatum; Named NBA Coach of the Year (1998); and Named NBA Executive of the Year (2012).
Larry Bird, was the first player to accomplish the 50-40-90 achievement, and one of two players to achieve the feat in multiple seasons.
Career averages:
24.3 points per game
10.0 rebounds per game
6.3 assists per game
88.6% free throw percentage
49.6% field goal percentage
37.6% 3-point percentage
Now we can't forget that Bird famously played with two injured ankles and a notoriously cranky back that forced him to lay down on the floor during practice breaks. After season-ending foot surgery just six games into the 1988-89 season
WE= can not forget that Olympic Gold Medal (1992 Dream Team)
I keep a toothpick in my beard too. 😂
It is well worth going down the Larry Bird rabbit hole a bit. A few of the videos you can check out would be, Making the Case for Larry Bird, 5 Time Larry Bird was Injured But Refused To Quit, Larry Bird Trash Talking, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more.
Larry had supernatural levels of basketball IQ and court vision. He knew where everyone was and was thinking moves ahead like a chess player.
"Making the Case - Larry Bird" by Clayton Crowley and "Larry Bird Trash Talking" by Uncut Hoops are two fantastic videos about Larry Bird. Larry Bird is amazing.
Yes!!!! Came to make a comment for Making the Case! Great Choice!
cheers for that, coming soon
After retirement Bird became also NBA coach of the year and the GM of the year!
You have to look at Magic Johnson when you look at Larry. I grew up in Boston when they were playing, their games are epic. Someone else said look at "Making the Case" videos, I agree. All of them are very well done. Bill Russel is a good one (11 rings).
Bird =GOAT in my opinion.
Larry became coach of Indiana Pacers
Magic Johnson and Larry Bird have a story that Hollywood writers wish they could come up with. Two men with completely different personalities but mirror images on the court. They each wanted to be the greatest basketball player ever. They entered the NBA when ratings were low and it seemed the sport my end. Their rivalry saved professional basketball. Magic got H.I.V. in 1991 and had to retire. Larry a few years earlier had severely injured his back but kept pushing and retired in 1992. Their final basketball games were to lead the U.S. Olympic Basketball team alongside Michael Jordan as part of the Dream Team. What a finale to two awesome careers
One thing these videos don’t convey is that Bird ALSO was a great rebounder. He averaged 10.0 per game. He was almost unique in his mix of high scoring and rebounding. And you round up the other 2 or 3 guys who were close to those stats in his era, and he blew THEM away with his passing and assists AND with his free throw percentage.
Since we are in the middle of it right now, “March Madness” is a thing. Basically, 68 college teams compete to become the national champion. The “final four” is played in football stadiums, usually getting around 70,000 people. ruclips.net/video/H0iWBs8cXGY/видео.html
Larry felt disrespected when the opponent would guard him with a White Player...😂
Jordan 1, Bird 1a.. everyone else is.. interchangeable, expendable, superfluous
Yeah, Bird for me is top 5. Played with all the skill you could ask for - ambidextrous, superb vision, unlimited range on his shooting - could post up or hit the 3 pointer. No one better in the clutch. Toughness wise, I'd compare him to (and this guy you should know, being a South African rugby player), Schalk Burger. Unbelievable mental fortitude to play through pain.
Larry Bird is an incredible player, passer, shooter, trash talker, winner. Lots of fun games vs Magic Johnson. They became really good friends. Lots of fun Larry and Magic vids out there. Enjoy!
08:33 "... haven't seen fans running out on the court" making me laugh, knowing what's coming up. Fun.
watch his greatest passes re edited if you want to be blown away
Near the end of his career, his back hurt so much he couldn't sit on the bench. He would just lie on his stomach on the sidelines, but he still played. The pictures of that have always hit me hard. You have to admire someone that tough and determined.
I would suggest you check out the "Making the Case" series. It highlights some great basketball players and makes the case why each one could be the G.O.A.T.
… you just watched
the real 🐐 GOAT !!
I might recommend you check out moments from the USA Dream Team - basketball team from the 1992 Olympics.
Larry later became a coach, a GM, then a Commentator. I don't know of he's still doing basketball today though.
New Sub!! NBA Coach Pat Riley said: "If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game I'd choose Michael Jordan; If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life...I'd take Larry Bird." - Pat Riley was a very well respected Coach of the LA Lakers and made his statement after he retired, (?)
Watch the 1992 dream team you will love it
Bird retired in August 1992. The retirement ceremony was held in February 1993. It was an entirely separate event, not held on a game night, or as a halftime ceremony. Boston Garden was completely sold out. Proceeds went to charities. Bird had the opportunity to thank the fans and the fans got an opportunity to show their appreciation again.
There's a video on yt of the entire program that night. You might be able to react to it, maybe break it into a couple different videos to upload.
That's Larry Legend 🐐☘️ 33
Check out his accomplishments in basketball after retirement
Generally considered by fans and opponents Top 5 All Time. I'd take him over anyone
Love your show brother!
I think the reason Larry's fakes worked so well was because the opposition couldn't afford to ignore the fakes even if they didn't look all that convincing. He could shoot from just about anywhere on the court (and held the scoring record for the Celtics), and his passing had even more range. So if he moved like he was going to shoot, the opposition had to try to block it. If he moved like he was going to pass, the opposition had to try to block it. When a player is a ball hog, it's easy for the other team to see through the fake passes, but Larry was too unpredictable.
Subbed.
Great documentary is the Magic And Bird: A Courtship Of Rivals
To me...
Bird GOAT
Magic - most likable
Julius "Dr J" Erving - coolest (edit)

And thank you for Actually listening to the commentators, most don't and they miss everything that was important to the moment ❤
In todays basketball is so wimpy, the old days you played hurt, Bird had broken bones in his back, and still played.
Jono Graham Reacts, good one, Larry Legend went on to win a gold medal with the "Dream Team" in the Olympics when he retired, then was a Coach of the Year and General Manager of the Year for the Indiana Pacers, he was a true legend in his own time..
So many Larry bird videos to react to now. Bird and magic saved the NBA in the 80s when it was on its knees.
Michael Jordan's bulls mixtape is a must now as in my opinion the best mixtape I have seen by far and I have seen many but nothing compares to Jordan's mixtape.
If Larry impressed you Jordan will just blow you away. But just to add Larry got the better of Jordan with a 6-0 in the playoffs and 23-11 if you include the regular season.
Now to be fair to Jordan he was playing a celtics team stacked with hall of famers but when pippin and rodman joined Jordan on the bulls and magic and Larry were near retirement it was game over for everyone else. Jordan didn't save basketball but he made it a worldwide phenomenon and took it to the next level.
Well done. You picked a great one.
Bird is my all time favorite. Something incredible you might want to react to is the Triple Crown races when Secretariat won. You talk about mind blowing. Incredible.
Cheers my friend ☘️
Larry's back injury cut his career short. The last several years he played in awful pain. He couldn't sit, had to lay down on planes and the side lines. After some games he would head straight to the hospital for traction on his back. He put his body through a lot of wear and tear. He had a brilliant basketball mind.
Larry went on to play with the Dream Team at the Olympics. Larry and Magic were the co captains. Larry later won a coach of the year and an executive of the year award.😊
Larry and magic built each other, and together they rebuilt the NBA. There’s so many good videos on both of these guys and their relationship.
In the 80s Boston and LA played in the Finals several times. It was very exciting to watch!
He would sometimes go to the hospital before a big game and be put in traction for the night. Toward the end of his career. Because of his injured back, he’d still play 3 quarters.
Any Larry bird trash talking video
His retirement night, there was not a game that night. The arena was full of people just wanting to see Larry Bird
Larry had the most storied and legendary career. There is a rabbit 🐇 hole 🕳️ but it is so worth it
Don't worry about Larry. Most valuable player (MVP) 3 consecutive years in a row. He became coach of the year for the Indiana Pacers. He became the NBA executive of the year. The only player to win all 3. He was born to play basketball.
The thing that makes Larry even more crazy, he was never 100% healthy through out his career, apparently he had mangled his middle finger I think on his shooting hand furing a game in College, and it never healed properly.
Index finger, and it was while playing baseball.
He went on to be voted NBA Coach of the Year then Executive of the Year. No need to weep for Larry Bird
Larry was part of the "Dream Team" that went to the 1992 Olympics.
Larry wasn't entirely done with the sport as he went on to coach the Indiana Pacers to their only Finals appearance and was designate Coach of The Year for his efforts. He then moved up to the position of President of Basketball Operations and received the Executive of The Year for his efforts in that position.
P.S. since you asked for a suggestion I recommend 5 times Bird was injured but refused to quit:

If you’re looking to better understand the significance of the Bird vs Magic rivalry on basketball and how it saved the game, the best documentary, hands down, is “Bird Magic: a courtship of rivals”
It’s easily found on RUclips
I grew up a fan of Dr. J, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan, but the player who could beat you the most ways with the most skills was Larry Bird. Bird had the best combination of inside scoring, 3-point scoring, passing, rebounding, defense, basketball IQ, trash talking, work ethic, clutch performance, and leadership. Bird had it all from day 1 in the NBA. The others gained some of these things after several years.
Great reaction..
