    Hi James! This is a great retro house. The kitchen reminded me of a farmhouse with the decor. Love the hardwood floors. You would wonder why they would cover that up. The basement was great. I can just imagine snooker/pool tables or whatever else they would have had down there. Waow that red bathroom was something else 😂 I wonder if that Santa mat was there all the time to go along with the theme 😂. Not sure about the red in the bedroom. Think that would blind me 😂 Thanks for the video!

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  5 месяцев назад

      I agree, that kind Chen had a strong farmhouse vide to it. I have noticed a lot of the homes from that time had their hardwood floors covered, usually with carpet, probably the style at the time. Glad you enjoyed the tour Stephanie and thanks a lot for your comment!!

    Hi SS! That was fun. That kitchen wallpaper had great colors but it was too much for. Somebody loved red. I loved the red tub. I wonder if it did have red sinks & toilet originally. Even better. I didn’t like that birthday party wallpaper. And 2 burning fireplaces-real nice! I keep forgetting to say to you that I love your still shots. Another great one James! Stay safe

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  5 месяцев назад

      Ya, I wasn't a big fan of any of the wallpaper, the stuff in the kitchen was a bit much but still always fun to see. I think the bathroom probably did have a red sink and toilet originally but toilets are so often replaced in these homes, guess they just don't last as long. Glad you enjoy the still photos too and thank you very much for your comment CK!!

    That’s a cool house, I’d love to live in it. I like retro houses. Too bad it’s going to be demolished, hopefully they will donate the usable materials to habitat for humanity or some non profit for families that can’t afford to buy new products. Great video James.

    This one had so many treasures in this one! That fruit wallpaper, wood flooring, the bay windows, that crazy room (even the baseboards were painted the same colour--what is up with THAT?! 😂) and yeah i LOVED everything about its' wild matching bathroom! Got a laugh at the end when you teased us with the ending, and i was shocked that you didn't bonk your head a single time--did you actually master not hitting your head while i was on 'sick leave' from watching these things?! 😛 Take care, and look forward to seeing more (and catching up on the others i missed). 👋🙂

    Ohmygosh this house so much more relaxing for my nervous system than the mansion. I really like the kitchen, some of the ceiling light fixtures, and no graffiti or big ole holes in everything lol I couldn’t live with a bright red room, but I did like looking at it. Maybe if there was furniture and not red window coverings to break it all up I maybe could live with it lol.the bathroom with the red counter tile and red tube and the best thing the party/potty paper lol Someone definitely was all about red!

    Oh my gosh! What a great house! Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed this one. But such a waste to be demolished!! The light fixtures were exceptional. The hardwood flooring, chair rails/Stair rail and wood trims, unreally beautiful! Red room, quite disturbing, but red tub shape very unique. The linoleum that you pointed out would very likely contain asbestos too. Noticed that you were getting a bit choked up there from odours and moulds in air. (A respirator might be recommended?)

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  5 месяцев назад

      Certainly is a house that had a lot of character, always a shame to see these places go. It wasn't too bad in there, even the basement didn't smell all that bad. I do bring and wear a respirator but I don't usually wear it during the video unless the air quality is really bad. Thank you very much for your comment!!

      Oh ya, I'd imagine they are less convenient than something full size but we have so many people living in condos and apartments that they are quite popular here, I think. Thanks very much for your comment!!

  • @gentillydanny
    @gentillydanny 5 месяцев назад +1

    Nice layout, good floor plan. Many of the foibles of the sixties and seventies here. I don't like the basement stairs immediately by the front door because that's creepy, especially when the front door opens to the side where the stairs for the basement start. If they had to be there then they should be walled in, with a door, not just an open staircase into the dark. I imagine the dank cellar smell would have been a problem for the people living there. The basement floor looks like years and years of floor wax coming up in yellowed sheets.
    That ketchup red and mustard yellow room! Beyond adjectives, and the bathroom beside it, Oy, although the tub's shape is very useful for bath things. As always, I enjoyed the video.

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, it is a bit odd having the basement stairs right there by the front door. I doubt the basement was stinky while it was lived in though, since the flooding probably happened after it was abandoned. That's a good point about the wax though, never thought of that. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks a lot for your comment!!

  • @nanetten6238

    I could live without the red bathtub, but the wooden ceiling in the kitchen is just lovely. The entire right side of the house (as seen from outside) looks like an add-on. What do you think?

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  5 месяцев назад

      I think you are the first person that doesn't like the bathtub. You could be right, I'm guessing the house was built in the 50s or 60s judging by the fireplace. But there is also some 50s or 60s carpet leading into the garage which makes me think it was all the same age. But the exterior does look like it would have worked without the two story section and would explain the strange basement stairs placement. Also split-level houses like this were fairly common during the mid 1900s. So honestly, I'm still not sure. 😂 Thank you very much for your thought provoking comment!!

    Fascinating back in time house and features ❤
    It's interesting what paint and wallpaper people choose isn't it? 😳😁 The kitchen was my favorite step back in time it was wild the wallpaper.
    The lighting fixtures all over were great as well to see. I love real wood floors and staircase banisters. The wood ceiling was beautiful to me.
    The carpet was a horrible color and texture lol 😆. I hate any brown carpet it's just so dirty looking to me even if new. I am not a fan of carpet in general it's hard to keep clean in my opinion even with constant cleaning from the carpet cleaning machines. To each thier own though.
    I liked the red tube design but for me the red room, red tub and that insane lol wallpaper in the red bathroom as well as the wallpaper in the other bathroom would drive me insane I think 😂.
    Back in the day that house was considered top notch no doubt. I love basements but it seems like they get so nasty and damp quickly over time more than anything else.
    Thanks 💯 amazing time capsule I love them 🎉❤

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, u live walking into houses like these where the owners chose vibrant colours of paint and wallpaper. I think the basement probably flooded at one point and that's what caused all that mold, it's fairly common in abandoned houses. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for your comment!!
