The Maven ultimate have been perfect for me, zero issues, no bleed issues, no hand pump issues...great stopping power. I even bought the Van Halen set haha.I just bought a Revel ti hardtail frame, thinking of putting Hope Pro 4 on it.
Just demoed the Sentinel in BR last weekend. These brakes are way powerful, so much so I found myself just uysing the rear because when I added the front I kept stoppig too soon fro corners. Really powerful and would take aome time to get used to them.
DB8 were the first SRAM brakes with mineral oil. Cheap brakes that - IMO - work very good, I really like them. It seems that Mavens are similar but more powerful than the DB8. Honestly I did not found even one comparison between both. If someone has impressions riding DB8 and Maven - please, share your thoughts. Mr Gibbs did not mention anything about the lever feel - this is probably the most controversial subject around the Mavens.
Same. DB8s are not shiny by any means but from my experience have been near 0 maintenance, good stoppers for a trail/enduro bike. I also much prefer the lever feel compared to shimano.
I am all about my shimano xt’s Probably gonna be on every bike I own

I put mavens on my bike. Insane stopping power. Almost went over the bars until I got used to it

@@peterj.2114 agree - the lever feel is just perfect for me.
Nice review Clint,
The question is will you buy an xt spec sentinel or build one from the frame up 😂
I would get this exact model.
Clint, that Sentinal Transition is a sweet bike, do you think you will buy/keep it or are you sending it back at some point?
It was a demo that I already sent back to Transition. But I have the option of buying a new one, which I will probably do in the next month or so.
