I've been combining mystery parties with puzzle solving, like escape room puzzles. Example: one character is given clues which will lead him on a puzzle hunt to find the deceased's hidden Will & Testament; Another character has their own puzzle trail leading to the identity of the murderer... whereas other guests have things they need to uncover involving their own backstories
Omg I know it's been a while since you posted this but please make a video with details!!! I'm organizing a party and your ideas are brilliant and exactly what I would love 🤩
You can definitely use a game like this for a 55 and older event :) Etsy is a great resource for murder mystery game kits. Try this one: www.etsy.com/listing/982244133/
I’m a 12 year old attempting this for her birthday party lol..this vid was really helpful, and the kit I’m using is called: Death by chocolate It’s interesting, and I’m excited! Also, I read the Party planner, and it says not to View the booklets or the video before the party, so how do I check if it wont buffer?
I'd suggest two weeks in advance of the party, so you have time to invite additional people if anyone on your original list can't make it. Thanks for your question!
You didnt give away who the murderer was in this video..... did you? I am worried that this gave it away based on the letter he was holding up in the video.. and I already bought the kit.
do you need to use a party kit? Could you make your own storyline and stuff or will it not work? bc I have an idea for a murder mystery but I don’t want to use a party kit
Every game is different -- if you don't want to use a video to share clues, you'll want to look for a game that uses exclusively paper clues. In the case of Murder at Pendleton Manor, the game comes with a transcript of the videos, so you could technically read that aloud or paraphrase it for your guests.

Great ideas!
That is fucking genius.

Also learned after two bad episodes... Alcohol should be limited to one drink max until after the game.
We totally agree :)
Wow... Now that is a great idea... Good to know!
Perfect video!! Thank you 🙏
Thanks so much!
Thanks I’m planning to do one of these in a few weeks!
This video was wonderful, can I use this for 55 and older community event? Where would you suggest I look for a kit? Thank you so much

@@discheesed-4174 Hasn’t happened yet, also using another kit since Death by Chocolate was…18+
I’m still excited though!
Happens next month!
@@lilliepad_frohUpdate?
You need to take black and white pictures of the party to make it look authentic.

The picture on the right... is Sepia.
Thank you! This is so helpful!
Glad to be of service :)
Can these games be replayed or are they to be played only once?
Most are designed to be played just one time.
How far in advance should you get the RSVP for the party?

Yes, you can definitely make up your own game. It's a lot of fun to try your hand at writing your own mystery!
@@thestorytellerscottage thank you! I definitely will.
Great video! Very helpful :)
Thank you, that was very useful!
Glad to hear it!
I’m thinking about one of these nights. Do you really need to have a video playing? Could you explain it .

Can you host a murder mystery party as a nonprofit fundraiser? If so, how....
Red Herring Games has a good article about this: www.red-herring-games.com/thinking-of-using-a-murder-mystery-for-fundraising-read-on/
