Extra P's beard looks really good, the gray looks good, the brother looks like he's taking care of himself, which is something I like to see. Alot of these rappers be looking all drugged out, fat, out of shape, tired, my brother looks good. He's one of my favorite producers of all time, he's hip hop through and through.

@Tha Imperial....I knew some idiot would come along and have something stupid to say about my comment. Why can't we black men show love to one another? Why can't I give the brother credit for looking well? Health is big my brother, your health is your wealth in a sense. I see so many old school rappers looking bad from not taking care of themselves. I'm giving him props all the way around. And did you read? I showed respect for him as a producer, as someone who made a huge contribution to hip hop. Why you mad? My brother, you need to grow up out here.

I'm a real advocate of the new idea of putting HIP HOP into categories now.Once cooperate America got hip hop in it's clutches, and the overnight success of the internet came into play, the hip hop game has changed....maybe for the better of the pocket, but as a culture, the powers that be still cut the biggest checks for the way "they" want it to go....just hope we don't lose sight that hip hop has evolved, it's multi cultural, comes from any where on the planet and the ESSENCE of ALL WE CALL HIP HOP, even through so called mumble rap, has gone no where.
      Simple and plain
      JUST MAKE HOT MUSIC
      the public always decides!
If and when🚨 lyrical wordplay mixed with creatively produced samples from uneartherd albums and r&b hits🚨 rules hip hop again, we will see who from this new era will be here to last the test of time, like GREATS before them

I dont understand how Vlad can say Nas is the worse beat picker when every beat on Illmatic is nice. How many hip hop artists can say they have an iconic, whole album full of great beats and rhymes? Nowadays, everyone is just happy if you have a good sounding single.I've listened to Illmatic many times from the beginning to the end.

    • @thelegendarydowntowntonybr2598

yeah, but over time Nas has made many other albums where a GANG of the beats were suspect. I always say his ears were the best during the first two albums... they been half-assed ever since.

Ahh man! I first heard Live at the BBQ on the Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito underground station before it dropped commercially and I instantly appreciated Nas's style.
The intro he said he's a streets disciple... my raps are trifle... I shoot slugs from my brain just like rifle...🤦‍♂️
He reminded me of Tragedy but a demented version in an illmatic way. He was saying some off the hook stuff. I used to sit by the radio to record the new stuff and man I replayed his verse numerous times.
That song was fire. P verse was crazy too. I grab up girls like Jack's add 'em on like tax then I'm over like hot tracks...🤦‍♂️
