The problem with considering the 144 thousands as literal is that... Well... we don't have the 12 tribes anymore, just two (Benjamin and Juda tribes), but the book of revelations states clearly: 12000 from EACH tribe. So, we already have a problem here with this literal interpretation. And I'm not even getting into the subject of the abomination in itself... those heresies crumble easily when you examine the scriptures and the passages.
