interesting as I played on an Iron Age Hillfort as a child but ours are earth ramparts , mine was 7 layers of ramparts, with gateways on 2 sides and clay lined ponds for water storage . Lots on the Welsh borders and along the south coasts of Britain. Possibly further north too .
That sounds like very interesting places 🙂 7 layers is a lot! I always find it fascinating that monuments, fortifications and so on can be so similair even though they are located far from each other.
