Standing Pilates for Seniors to Improve, Balance, Strength and Coordination | 30 Mins

- Join me for a 30 Minute standing pilates workout for Seniors. This is a full body routine to improve mobility, flexibility, balance, strength and coordination with exercises to ease the general aches & pains in the joints and spine that come with age, as well as exercises to help combat loss of muscle strength and flexibility. The saying 'use it or lose it' is so true! Doing these exercises regularly will improve all these things and builds your strength so I am recommending you work towards doing this workout at least twice a week. I've taught these exercises to my Senior clients ifor many years and I have seen first hand the difference they can make to your wellbeing. So join me, take your time and do what you can, if anything is too challenging for you right now, don't worry, just rest and come back and try again when you're ready. Please have a chair handy as we will do some new work with a chair also.
The session will be followed by a Q & A where from the comfort of your own home you can ask me questions, or just say hello, you can ask me anything!

Love, love, love this! I’m just short of being 55+ but this was just what I needed. Long Covid and the menopause have had me feeling a bit low but this made me feel much more positive about myself. I’ve fallen out of love with my body just lately as I’ve felt it just keeps letting me down, but your positivity and excellent teaching has made me realise I’m not quite as decrepit as I thought and I managed almost all of the balances, just a few wobbles here and there, but no complete collapses 🥳 thank you for being so nice and kind and encouraging 😊

There are several older videos I do almost daily. I prefer you keep them on if you can. I love them, and they work well for me. The content is solid and I absolutely love these older videos as much as the newer ones. And thanks for asking us.
Wonderful workout! I'm 67 and though it was a bit challenging I still managed to do it, even though not perfectly...I am noticing muscles I've forgotten long ago and seeing them wake up! Thank you!

Hi. I am Sim from USA. I wanted to drop a line that I have being diligently using your past videos like this over and over again for my daily routine of 30 minutes exercise , if I could. I find your exercise so comfortable and easy to adhere, after doing it for the past two years without being a subscriber. However, last year I sprained my arms so terrible that I could not use my arm. It was during my Lisbon and Porto and the El Camino trip. But since the routine was in my brain, I went under the hot shower and used some movements that I had practiced. This had forced my arm to have some movement. Miraculously, it took another week after I came back to to fully recover. At the end of the trip, I went to Brighton, together with my husband, for a one day trip, and hoping to see you on the street. It was a rainy day, but at least I have visited Brighton. I love the place. Anyway, if I were to go again, I would asked around. Going back. we met a very nice gentleman on the train, had a great conversation with him and I told him about you. He is from Brighton. I hope your name do spread around. Thanks.

All of your videos are helpful and are great! I can't imagine what a chore it is to organize all of the videos. In the website world when web content becomes "antiquated" that content may be archived, rather than just be removed, and a link to the archived content is provided. Rather than remove any video I suggest you archive it, maybe organized by the original published date. Another suggestion, if you were to redo a video for the sake of giving it an updated look, for example if you were to remake an instructional video (I am remembering the set of 4 basic Pilates videos that I watched a couple of years ago and they were very useful for me), then in that case you could probably remove the original video(s). I have loved participating in your classes since November 2020. I'm not always consistent, but I know that because of you I am stronger in my upper body and I have learned (and continue to improve) to slow down and appreciate slow moving work. It is fun for me when I do an old video to realize how much you've grown your RUclips channel. Thank you for what you do! Your audience is absolutely grateful!

I have been doing your videos for the past month or so. At age 68, I find them very helpful. I try to do beginners ones. It would be nice to do some live classes. I'm going to try to figure out how to do that. It's very nice, though, to have so many past options for when I have time. Thanks so much for doing this for all of us! BTW, I'm from Ohio in the US. Love your accent! 😊
We do most of your standing routines - I can’t easily get up and down from a mat. We like the older ones as well as the new ones. The 10 and 15 minute ones are especially useful for busy mornings. Thanks for all you do.

Just watched and did this session. Great to expand on the previous work outs. Please do not remove your old 30 mins standing Pilates that was my first introduction to your wonderful work outs. It saved me during the lock down in 2020 and 2021.

I can't believe you're over 55! You look amazing and keep me motivated. First time doing this class - each time you do a new one I find new muscles I didn't know I had. I am finding that having done your classes for a couple of years now that my left hand side is catching up with my right with regard to balance and co-ordination so thank you! I aim to do a class every day even if it is only 10/15 minutes.

Finally set time aside to get my pilates in. This was really challenging, especially the opposite arm rotation, my brain was working too....lol. Balance and coordination is a challenge for me at the moment, so I needed assistance with a chair. But I got to the end. Thank you Rachel. This was a good change up for me.
