Nas did 6 albums in 3 years. 4 are classics. It’s no pressure. I think he put the pressure on everyone else. Salute
I didnt know how much i needed that Com × Pete album
Nas and Hit Boy set the bare unreachable KD, KD2, KD3 Magic, Magic2 and Magic3 6 albums in 3 years that's the bar
@raski44 I do like the run and have them all. KDIII is phenomenal and my favorite of all of them. I appreciate your view on it. That is 6 Nas records with quality songs, we can't for granted. #salute
Damn, this is a great summer for Hip Hop. Kendrick got the Summer Anthem on smash, LL & Q Tip got something happening, Rakim, Preemo & Nas, Oh yeah, can't forget Em! And The Auditorium is that shizznit!
The streets disciple and premier....not fair.... definitely no pressure.
Wtf "Define My Name" is fire
Fire??? Not even luke warm. The production is nothing more than a loop that gets boring quick. There’s no beat breaks or changes. A mediocre loop and scratches. As you can see the song has no video or even rotation on satellite, or radio play . It’s a weak first attempt and they know it. Ppl fall into this blind allegiance because of some of premiers great tracks. It’s ok to recognize a miss by him. He has a lot of misses. Look at the difference in the song beat breaks by him and nas and the majority of songs he did with nas. Then go back to define my name. Easily the worst song they have done together.
@@WawaMarvel Unfortunately for you both Pete Rock/Common and Nas/Premo albums will become classics and their true fans will be appealed to. Nas fans have been anticipating a full collab album with Premo forever, just enjoy the moment in Hip Hop and the fact that we can even get this music from these legends.
@@WawaMarvel Jeez you act like the song was Gucci Gang just be happy you get a long awaited collab
@WawaMarvel Great point. However it does have an official video. But great breakdown. Well put! And I agree. #salute.
@iliyan-kulishev I appreciate that you like it alot. But it's not on the level they showed us they can be on.
LL and Q-tip may also add some pressure but we have to see
Stop it.
LL on 🔥
It's been over 6 months since that NaS & Preemo track dropped. No updates, no further announcements, not even a video for the song.
As the year is quickly wrapping up, I'm starting to believe this album may not happen. Especially with both of these dudes on separate tours in different parts of the world for months to come.
They tested the waters to see if there was any real interest. And outside of the initial excitement of nostalgia, this song came & went (like I said it would)
This falls on Premier's tired outdated repetitive production he provided
NaS may have lost interest and just wasn't inspired, if beats like THIS is what Preemo is giving him.
Nas and Hit Boy set the bar. Wym??
@timothynash442 We're dealing with this reset of the legends teaming up. The Nas and Premier Album was long over due. Then Pete and Common who are from same generation drops a solid album is the pressure. Nas and Hit is dope but Preem and Nas was supposed to happen. I have all the Nas and Hit albums.
@KUTProductionz got ya! Not really worried about Nas. It's more on Preemo with the production. Will he be able to create a sound different from his norm that sounds gritty and organic. Ion kno.....
@@timothynash442Nas is bringing Nas, I'd expect Preem to do the same.
Nas and Hit boy sucked
@scienz how about pete rock and common is sleepy af ...
Common and Messy Pete Rock just dusted off their headphones. They’re no competition to Nas and Preemo who have consistently been working for years. Still not forgetting how Petty Pete tried to Sue Nas instead of approaching the record label for his royalties 🤔😐
@lyricistanonymous8126 Yeah I remember that. Pete said in an interview they resolved it. I just know the inner workings that well to speak in that in depth. Hopefully Nas and Premier does make a classic. Many people here seem to doubt it. I think they can but they gotta work. The last couple Nas and Premier tracks have been just ok honesty. Just calling as I see it.
Yeah, Pete had suspect moments, but he seems to have chilled out.
Plus these day compared to Preemo, Pete's production just sounds fresher, more exciting, layered, much better mixing, with "modern" day melodies and chord progressions but still keeps that 90's vibe and energy.
@jmartradio You are on point. Did you the new Preem with Ross,Wayne,Big Sean? Those are the beats we need from him
no way the premo nas album will happen
@wordupcornflake Where you been it's already announced and it has a single and video. Catch up.
@@KUTProductionz still not happening
Prove me wrong but I'll take LL x Q-Tip over Nas x Preemo! I really can't see Nas & Preemo doing better than what they've done in the 90s. Feels like an unnecessary challenge to take on by now. You can't top "NY State of Mind" or "Nas is like". Their legacy has already been cemented with classics. Why spoil it now, if you know how picky hiphop fans have become nowadays? Common & Pete Rock album is on the way to become Album of the Year just because it really lived up to the expectations. PR' productions are so organic, and Common's flow is effortless. That album is a masterclass for today's generation.
@ALPHATOSHINEZA Thats fair I can't argue with your point. But fingers crossed for a dope album from those to brothers. We discuss this project specifically because it's one we always wanted to hear. Just hoping for a dope album from Nas And Preem. Yeah LL and Q Tip is out I'm gonna give it a listen. Peace!
Saw them podcast last tues and they performed in bk by me . The album is dope
@googleaccount1276 Yeah I saw footage from Bk. That was fire. Common always delivers.
@@KUTProductionz common and pete performed pete did alot of his classics too
@googleaccount1276 Nice. I saw clips and heard those classics too.
Common and Pete just dropped the best album I've heard in the last 5 years. Synergistic blend of god tier samples and lyricism. Neither man outshined the other.
Then you don’t listen to music.
I hope these cats don't fool themselves and think that they just "get together and ...bang bang bang.." What Common and Pete did is MORE than just an album...it had spiritual foundation...the tracks on the Auditorium Vol. 1 were DIVINELY INSPIRED. If they just doin it for the competition or for the $...I ain't supporting that Sh**... do it for the right reason and it will be just as tight as the Common and Pete Rock masterpiece.
@7deepbreaths.sounds Ok. No I seriously doubt it's for the competition or money. Both Nas and Premier got plenty of money. Nas has said he does it for the fans and supporters at this point. He's beyond rich. It's just the one album that hiphop needs to happen the one we always wanted. Also they do compete with each other on some level lyrics, production. It's what makes greatness. But yes Common and Pete made great a work work.
Nas & Preem better come out strong! I'm loving this Comm/Pete album! Plus, don't let that LL/Q-Tip joint be a banger! OG's doin' the damn thing this year!
Nas is touring the rest of the year i think we ain’t getting the nas and premo album this year.
@jonathancoleman6482 Hmmm interesting LOL. I didn't want to say it. Actually 2025 would be more realistic. Unless they worked on it after the New York State of Mind Tour.
Actually they didn't. The Auditorium was made for the Oprah and Gayle King crowd. Nas and Premier is gonna be for the streets. Gritty hiphop.
@scienz What are you doing lol. It's a grown up album. These are grown men. The subject matter reflects that. But I agree I like it. But a 1 or 2 more Gritty ones would've been dope. Nas and Preem will be Gritty.
@KUTProductionz you can be a grown up album and not have those terrible sung choruses by Jennifer Hudson and Bilal.
The Pete Rock and Common album was okay. Nas is more dimensional than Common. If Preemo give Nas some fire beats, it's a wrap.
Common and Pete Rock's album has nothing on KD2 and KD3, lets keep it real.
They just happened to promote it way more aggressive whereas Nas will always be Nas, whether thats a good thing or a bad thing i don't know, but dude won't run around in circles for his music.
The Auditorium is a good album with a fresh sound but in my view, it doesn't top prior Nas effort with hitboy, clearly all of media included yourself missed that.
Nas doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. When he was proving where was y'all at. Common is a great artiste, there's no need to start these comparisons.
@@jkbzz That's fair.
I loved preemo in the 90's. I aint been feeling his beats the last 5 years or so. 5 seconds into a beat I can tell a preemo "type beat" and they were very uninspiring.
He got a couple bangers. Did you hear "ya don't stop" ? That Preem track is solid. If Nas had that it would be crazy. Listen to that
@@KUTProductionzYou know what Fam, I'm a give it a go. Thanks for alley oop. I get back after I listen.
I'm inspired again. That beat hard. That woke me up out my slumber. Banger! I'm a have to freestyle off that.
@DisplacedAfrican1 Peace!!! Word I told you. Yo if Preem gives Nas those type of beats. It will be a classic! My next video I'm going talk about. He got some other ones to. Dj Premier is Dj Premier he know what he doing
@@KUTProductionzyou right. I spit a freestyle to it
I’m late here but Personal, the production is just ok to me. Which I always say production is subjective. Some half of the production is fire and the rest not so much.
With that said, Common did his thing on this album. Proves to show how legendary his pen and mic game is.
No they didnt. He is the bar for them and every other legend still making music. Only a person that hasnt followed nas would believe this.
It's kinda trash fans are still taking him for granted or even trying to make these projects directly compete with each other.
@idolgray Relax it's just a Hip Hop conversation that every barber shop and TRUE Hip Hop heads have. We love Nas and Preem they legend. Did you even buy The KD projects and Magic? Asking for a friend. If not don't comment on this.
@@KUTProductionz nah, heads haven't really rocked or supported new nas like that. His newer fans held him down more. Pete was subbing hit boy and Nas the last 4 years along with other "heads". They see this pete and common album as the proper way to make an album and not the "mid" nas made with hit-boy. Whenever the Nas/premier drops I'm expecting it to be criticized and met with a "meh" response if their isnt anything touching "Nas is like" etc..
@idolgray Did you support by buying it? Well I can't speak for others, Just myself. I did buy it. I have the physical music and merch etc. Anyway these dude are pros and should be able to bang out a good album. Talking about Nas and Preem. I think they will. And that's going to happen because of all the praise Common and Pete are getting it's a good thing. Let me ask you this, rate "Define my Name" on a scale of 1-10. What would you rate the song?
@@KUTProductionz "define my name" is a 7. Nice teaser. Issue with the last 2 songs nas and preme wasnt the rapping. As far as pete and common, no I haven't copped. But I might go to one of the shows here in NYC at the blue not jazz club. Or in BK.
@idolgray Respect. I have it a little lower because of the beat. I'm a huge Premier and Gangstarr fan. But the beat on Define could'vebeen stronger. These are just hip-hop discussions at the end of the day. Nas Legend and we just want the album to bang. Definitely catch that show. Get some footage and share it!
Can we just enjoy the Music , stop trying to set it up to over critique Nas , just to try and slight him, it's Art , enjoy or not and stop trying to make everything a competition
@abracadabra3033 Respectfully. This is my channel bro. If you don't like the topic keep it pushing. It's that's simple. I talk Hip Hop the way I want, not what you want. Peace to you though.
Nas and Hitboy set the bar. Pete and Common made a decent album. Too much of a slow burn. It’s good for the culture. But Preemo and Nas will set the bar once again. If the album is anything like what Nas did on “Beat Breaks” the industry will reset.
@@SDSOverfiend then you don't listen to music!
@@christophercarter7918 Weak music. I fixed it
I said this, but common and Pete left the door open with the last 2 songs of the album being flat, and the best songs being the singles. There’s no album joint that hits as good as any of the singles. That’s important. Nas always has album joints that bang better than the singles. Now premo definitely missed with define my name. Worst song they did together. Boring loop , no changes or beat breaks. I don’t trust premier for a full album. He’s made some great joints. But the majority of the songs he’s produced are a snooze.
Dope. I respect this and feel where you coming from. Fingers crossed that Preem will give us that work. They're competive and they definitely hear us Hip Hop heads.
Define my name wasn't that great....I hope he comes with a banger like he's used to doing
@MPCHustle No it wasn't. I supported but its just a mid lever song. Hopefully they lock in and give us bangers.
