- Now that our new Southerly 480 sailboat is in the water, the commissioning process (testing and final adjustments) begin. This includes sea trials and we get a couple of opportunities to take our new offshore cruising yacht out on the water - a great way to celebrate Paul’s birthday - plus deal with an electrical storm!

A few years back I used to watch this show all the time, but moved and could not find it. I am so glad that now I can watch the show on RUclips. This is a great show that I highly recommend. Just watched this episode again. That really was quite a storm that evening, we were in Newtown Creek, just around the headland from you and nearly lost our Genoa! It is great to watch a bit of my old sailing ground, especially as we can’t get there just yet! Fair winds & enjoy the Caribbean ⛵️

Great shakedown cruise. Love the pictures of the ice. I never knew it built up so fast. I have seen it in Wisconsin but never knew anything about the ice buildup on shorelines. Great Video and look forward to seeing your new adventures on DS3. Maybe get to warmer weather and see SSL before they head out of the Caribbean. I have seen you guys chat before. You got him off the couch many years ago. Nice jacket for that weather. Looks very warm. What a way to have a birthday.

You guys are amazing! I am not familiar with sailing boats, only motor boats. Living in Arizona, it's all lakes, but I love it. I sometimes have fantasies about sailing on the seas and I happened upon your videos and I just can't get enough of them. I love how you guys work as a team and (at least on camera) you show total respect for each other and it is a tribute to relationships and making them work. I have learned so much and my greatest hope is that someday when I am at a marina and someone is talking about sailing, I can carry on an intelligent conversation about it thanks to watching your videos! love swing keels - best of both worlds - if you visit Shark Bay in Western Australia with the sand bars etc a swing keel is the ducks nuts - I had a 22ft Spacesailer with a swing keel - won the carnarvon - denham race 3 times and missed line honours to a 40 ft Crowther cat by 20 metres by pulling the keel up and going over the sandbars rather than round - also beautiful sandy beaches - glad I found you courtesy of the Delos interview - enjoy - now to catch up to 2021

The boat looks fantastic. The mast and boom seem more slender than I would expect for something that size. I suppose materials and construction techniques have come a long way!

Happy Birthday Paul - what a way to celebrate! We can't sail our boat for the next month or so due to _commitments_ (oh well . . .) but watching this video made my Saturday morning complete. The happiness and love between Paul & Sheryl really shines through in this video, and *that* galley - looks like Sheryl has 10 feet headroom ! What a _magnificent_ yacht.
