I'll have to try this sometime. My father (who was Puerto Rican) taught me a recipe that's fairly similar, though it isn't a stew - the beans and broth are used as a topping for the rice instead. It has a very earthy flavor and it is quite filling.
Tried this recipe today. Had no “smoked hot paprika” so used smoked paprika AND hot paprika (1/2-1/2) and it was mah-velous! This rice is easily overcooked, however, so eat immediately.
Oh I have to make this this super chilly weekend I think it’s just what we’ll need to warm up thank you for posting I used to live in Tenerife and near Alicante the food was delicious especially tapas! I love watching your channel

Made this for my family, was super delicious. The next day I added some Spanish chorizo and baby spinach to the mix. This is one of those dishes that you can add chicken or whatever you want ,so delicious! Thanks again.

Seems like I've made this before, but for some reason, visually, it's making me hungry and I need to use up some potatoes. Only have Arroz Valencia or Bomba and will go with the Valencia and save the Bomba for paella, which I haven't made in months. Love your shrimp @ artichoke heart paella recipe, my favorite.
@@SpainonaFork Had it for dinner tonight with a few changes. Great northern beans, no bay leaves so used some Italian seasoning blend, had chicken that had to be used and in it went. No, not exactly your recipe, but a good base to start with. Had no idea, what it would taste like, but it turned out great! Clean bowls around the table. This will definitely be a winter go-to. I added more paprika (to taste), added some black pepper, and some cayenne pepper. The resulting flavor is fantastic! I added my rice separately since my wife had already cooked rice earlier anyway but the good news was the rice was still warm as a result. I will be making this dish again soon. But for now, it will last me a few days. :D Thanks for this recipe!

My meat-eating historian husband said that dish lacked meat because the muslims made Spain so poor with war after war but Spain would go on to become one of the richest nations in the world! Looks delicious!
Alberto, maybe the tast is good, but beans are full of carbohydrates, so are patatos and rice as well…..too much for me, though I like to eat beans because of the protein❤️Hil.
