My life got better when my mother became a single parent. It brought clarity on what I want in a relationship and the type of father I would want for my child. This year I've graduated with my master's degree in Marketing mostly because of my single parent mother. These children will have strong role models. I turned out normal and healthy. Nothing bad happen to me and I'm sure these kids will be fine too.

I'm with you there. Why can't people just be open minded and see that you can't make assumptions based on one scenario. Yes, some children in single parent households do grow up bad, but some grow up fine. I can attest to that as I grew up without a father and didn't get into any trouble. Got my doctorate, bought my own car, and house all before I turned 30. Some kids grow up fine in heterosexual two parent households, but some grow up far worse with two parents due to constant fighting and abuse. Instead of wasting time blaming and pointing fingers, why not accept what the reality is and try to create support programs for troubled youth. Do you know how much artificial insemination actually costs including meds, doctor visits, and lab work? It's not covered by insurance and all out of pocket expenses. Not to mention they may have to go through many failed rounds down the drain. I think if they can afford this, they can afford to raise their kid without leaching off the government and our tax dollars. In fact they probably have to pay more taxes because they're still considered single. They've experienced enough life, done their research, and sought a lot of medical and psychological consult before deciding on artificial insemination. I grew up with kids who never had a dad, had a distant dad or lost their dad. The girls craved male attention and many of the boys seemed lost and often got into trouble. They needed a male role model to bond with and teach them. Im a woman, and i think its selfish to refuse a child a father because of what YOU want. I grew up in a house with both parents and it was chaos and a father who was absent most of life. My life got better when my mother became a single parent. It brought clarity on what I want in a relationship and the type of father I would want for my child. This year I've graduated with my master's degree in Marketing mostly because of my single parent mother. These children will have strong role models. I turned out normal and healthy. Nothing bad happen to me and I'm sure these kids will be fine too.

I'm with you there. Why can't people just be open minded and see that you can't make assumptions based on one scenario. Yes, some children in single parent households do grow up bad, but some grow up fine. I can attest to that as I grew up without a father and didn't get into any trouble. Got my doctorate, bought my own car, and house all before I turned 30. Some kids grow up fine in heterosexual two parent households, but some grow up far worse with two parents due to constant fighting and abuse. Instead of wasting time blaming and pointing fingers, why not accept what the reality is and try to create support programs for troubled youth. Frankly I don't know why the automatic assumption is that single mothers by choice are leaching off the government. Do you know how much artificial insemination actually costs including meds, doctor visits, and lab work? It's not covered by insurance and all out of pocket expenses. Not to mention they may have to go through many failed rounds down the drain. I think if they can afford this, they can afford to raise their kid without leaching off the government and our tax dollars. In fact they probably have to pay more taxes because they're still considered single. Yes, I agree that there are a lot of selfish and irresponsible mother's out there, but some older single mothers by choice are in their late 30s or 40s. They've experienced enough life, done their research, and sought a lot of medical and psychological consult before deciding on artificial insemination. My career took priority over having a child. So I want to become a single mom. I'll have to make work my main priority but at least I'll have a little cute picture on my social media now. Plus I'll employ a nanny now.

The other half won't touch her knowing her background. She gets bitter. Says she doesn't need a man. Gets impregnated by some unknown guys semen. Has the baby. It's a news story and all the sudden she feels better. Then she goes and sleeps with a dozen more men and has a dozen step daddy's in her child's life and fucks them up too. It's a cycle.
