Your walk around the village makes me nostalgic. I was in Vietnam in 1967, they were such nice people. I liked the rural areas. I understood their traditions and was accepting. I really miss their slower quieter way of life.

Love 🥰💘💓💖your videos. Previous to YOUR "streaming" videos, I would never watch "streaming" videos from other Channels, until now, YOURS. Yours have substance; you simply share your thoughts and your life at home and now through your village.
I felt as though I was your guest come to visit you and you took me for a walk through your village. You made me feel SO VERY WELCOME. Thank you.🤟👏And sharing your thoughts with me made me feel as though I was your special guest as you proudly shared where you lived. I so loved this. AND, I must confess, I am a bit jealous of what you have there. I secretly envy you. Well, maybe not secretly.😇🥰

Great tour! You and Damo are both very responsible and kind. Your families must be so proud that so much has been accomplished from such young people. All of the children will learn so much from you. Do Thai women have their babies natural at home with a midwife? Won’t be long now. Otis must be excited too. Wish I had known about Thailand when I was younger. Beautiful scenery there. Almost 70 now and not up to traveling so far. Thank you for contributing to RUclips and providing me some enjoyable tv time.🤗

Ryan, I really enjoyed the livestream. As you were mentioning in the vlog, there is craziness that is happening in the world. It leaves people scared and wondering about tomorrow. In the US we just went through a midterm election in an attempt to bring balance back in to things. I enjoy your livestreams as I find them to be genuine. They are of a family living the good and bad things of their lives. I loved the walk around the village. It reminds me when I was younger walking around the rural area that my mom's family was in with most of houses were made of unpainted wood with a tin roof up on blocks. It was mostly agricultural land. There were several very small markets scattered around. Life flourished in those places with happy, helpful families. If you are considering different times to do the livestream, it would interesting to what life wake up on the farm. Thanks again for sharing.

Great vid dude. I found you two on the Thaiger today with the interview. Great stuff. Loved how you started the video because similar things were on my mind at the time thinking about rural Thailand and perhaps my transition from city life. I have many questions but my main one would be what is the heat like and how easy it is to install air cons or do fans suffice?¿ lol. A second would be how would life be in a rural area with a somewhat bad back?¿ I'm by no means immobile but I'm not building houses anytime soon. Thanks for sharing btw!

Hi Ryan I've been thinking the same things recently.
Life is too short to not do or be where you want to be. After my wife died in Chiang Mai I said I would never go back to Thailand. I cut myself off from my Thai family because it was too painful to keep in touch. But a friend said to me that I can't change all the bad things that I'm going through so I need to live with it. A bit simple to say only 5 months after my daughter dying. But I know what he means, so I've got back in contact with my Thai family and hopefully will move back to Thailand in the future. It's the only place I feel at home. Love the people, food and weather. The UK is just not for me the only thing here is a good wage.

"They drink a lot." 07:42 After breakfast, a cup of coffee (with caffeine) will clean out the liver.
On alcohol, limiting alcohol consumption to a single 3 or 4 ounces of red wine ( a wine glassful ) with or after dinner each day is considered advantageous. Any more than that may cause problems.

"They all gamble." 13:40 + A guy told me once that when he bought a lottery ticket ( with odds of 1 chance in 15,000,000 or higher ) that he figured it was a 50-50 chance of winning. I asked him how he thought that.
He said, "Well, either he won or he lost. 50-50."
"Hopefully, he's learned his lesson." 14:04 + His reasoning is probably that, he's already got nothing, so if he loses, nothing has changed; he's still got nothing. But if he wins, he's got something = his winnings. So, there's no actual losing, he already has nothing.

I find it surprising that you can be like that and be a RUclipsr because it makes you the opposite where everyone thinks they are your friend. I did consider doing a RUclips channel but for this reason I haven't bothered doing it.

Can’t imagine anyone thinking poverty, basic rural traditional living yes! But not poverty! We had many field/farm workers ‘cottages’ (12ft by 14ft ) throughout England Ireland Scotland Wales that were one room with a wee cupboard like kitchen at the back, wee stone shed/hut looking ‘houses’ but they weren’t poverty. As they had work, so good food, warmth, fuel, carpets/rugs to all bed down on ,clothes and maybe a few cots to sleep in, tin bath that hung on wall, a kitchen that you could do all washing and bathing in. Could happily sleep A Couple, with their three children and maybe a mother in law… everything they needed… yes people today would say that was poor… but there always was the poor living in desolated slums no heat, no water, no curtains, no furniture carpets beds or cots, no work, and 8 children. With not even a coat to put over a sleeping child as they’re no bed, bedding, or blankets! People would have only the rags they stood in… that’s poverty! Loving this tour! The new house is lovely! And home, is where the heart is X

Your back . . . 0:07 to 0:37 in this video, you probably have searched the Web for healing foods, home treatments, warmth, "wriggling" movements to loosen up, rest, etc., etc., . . .
I've suffered the same, over decades. This "walkabout" video is exactly what your back needs. Just not to long a walk. Plus add a "wriggle" or a minor stretch every 5 or 10 minutes.
With all about you = Damo's folks, local villagers, well, you and family will be OK through whatever happens world wide, so far away.
Those who lose will be the people with large sums of money invested or worse yet with credit card debt or real estate loans. You're not in that category. People in cities will be the ones most heavily affected.
Enjoy each sunrise, it's a new day. Even the animals enjoy the start of each day.
Enjoy the sunsets. They're a lovely "Good Night" message for having lived another day.
And then retire for the night for a welcome slumber into dreams of what Heaven might be like if you could design it yourself. Dream of it until the next morning.
    Love your videos. Thank you.

Damo, . . . when i was a little boy, perhaps about 4 or 5 years old, I asked my Mom why a young woman's tummy was so big. My Mom explained to me that the young woman was growing a new baby inside her tummy and soon that baby would be ready to be born into the world for all of us to see. My Mom explained that it was a special gift from God (or Nature) that a woman is given a special and important assignment and responsibility to be a Mom, just like my Mom was.
From that time on, I have always looked at a "woman with child" as a person with a very special and honorable assignment in life, one that I, as a boy later to be a man, would never be honored enough to be assigned such an important position in my life.
You, Damo, should be very proud that you are able to create another life. Your tummy is a badge of honor from God (or Nature) that says you are special, and you will always be very special to that child, just as you are to Otis, and just as Ryan's Mum is to Ryan.
Even though I am 81 years old, I still have the same love for my Mom as I did when I was 4 years old. I miss her deeply.

Being grateful daily is life changing.
    Count Your Blessings
    -Johnson Oatman Jr (1897)-
When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
    Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God has done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
*Count your many blessings, see what God has done.
[*And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.]
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
    Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings-*money cannot buy [*wealth can never buy]
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
    Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

"We're all gonna die." 05:40 That's why I prefer to believe in the Christian faith. When I die, I plan on going to live in Heaven. Now, I know that sounds a bit childlike, but it puts my mind at ease and lets me live each day in peace, knowing that some day I will be "living" in God's Heaven.
I feel sorry for people who will not allow themselves to accept and adhere to my way of thinking. It's so convenient and reassuring. They argue that I have no proof that my beliefs will come true. But they cannot offer any kind of proof to the contrary. And, anyways, my beliefs are intended to make me feel good about my life, not worry me.

Thailand had problem with communism in Isaan. If you know about those in the south of you, you know that Thai rural people live the same way. They are poor and see those in the city are rich and look down on them. When communism came and tell them to fight to stop suppression, many rural people agree and joined. Thai government had a hand full to deal with them 40 years ago.

The multiple boyfriends thing is predominantly an Issan thing in my experience. Probably because they are the greater percentage of bar girls.

Hi Leo, not at all, I’m just putting the correct info underneath as some people learn bits of Thai through the channel so this is a good distinction. Hope you are well 😊👍
