This comment hits a nerve. I'm young (ish - 47) and 13 months ago covid fucked me almost to death. 10 days after infection i had a massive stroke caused entirely by damage to my lungs by the awful disease. I'm in something of a transitional phase. Physically im sort of OK. Mentally im a wreck. Ive no idea if i will ever be able to work again, (NHS/ healthcare, im NOT a doc, caught covid at work from a patient most likely, was working on ITU). So now i will need to decide what my life will be going forward. Tricky thing to sort out, nearly 30 years doing one thing, quite late in the day to retrain, and honestly mentally im not what i was. So... who knows. What i do know is life is absurd, and absurdly short. Look after your health, and FFS try to find somthing you want to do.

There is a part of me which believes that I am more suited for specialist jobs rather than managing people/teams. However, I do enjoy making money and want to be my own boss doing something that I really enjoy. My current occupation has some barriers for opening a practice namely expensive equipment so I was thinking of potentially studying a degree which would allow me to eventually open my own practice. Here is why: I am now 33 years old, I have left surgery 2 years ago, at the very end of my residency (for reasons looking pretty similar to yours). I have, since then, attended a business school and hope now to join the pharmaceutical industry (while being passionate enough to make a bit of profit with some fintech skills in the meantime). Those similarities, even for the Cartesian mind I would like to think I am, convinced me your vlog might be some kind of sign (out of RUclips's tricky algorithm). Idk I’m still young, but I’ve always treated people how I would like to be treated. I don’t look for luxury in my life, but I do want the best caring people around me. It’s human nature to look out for others and them look out for you. Maybe my ambition is somewhere where I can help people and help them feel good it’s always made me happy knowing I tried helping someone. But what scares me is spending the money I don’t have to get a education that pays well, maybe because of my upbringing and location it has been difficult to truly understand what I want to pursue in life, best of luck thank you for the motivation from a wise sir.

Ethan, I stumbled on your channel and found your Ferrari video interesting and transparent. I'm a doctor in California and have spent a career doing night/day shifts, high acuity cases and long hours. Congratulations on your transition toward fulfillment! You obviously are into cars. Have you considered a Tesla? That's what I drive-it satisfies my technology interest (software/I have FSD beta, efficiency, performance). It could preheat and defrost while you're getting ready... For you I suggest the Model S Plaid.

Different thing, different day. My dream job. While in quarantine, I realized that I couldn’t do the same thing different day, I hated it. It’s now just one big mashed memory with no differences between the months that quarantine took up. I’m glad I realized this before I went into the workforce. I’m only 23, so there’s a lot to learn in my future.

Being rich and acting rich are two different things. Most of the people that are showing off all day (specially doctors/attorneys.etc) in youtube are acting rich. They spend well above their means because society puts a label on them making them think what it's not. 'Millionaire next door' or 'Stop acting rich' are eye opening books that make understand this. People with money don't show off this way.

It again was not a good fit for me. I crack the whip on my ass and took some courses and got certified in IT. I now work for one of my state's largest employers with over 27,000 employees. It is never too late to learn something new. Be the best you stop wasting time like I did. Learn something, get certified or get a degree your life will change remarkably

The classes are six weeks (it took me way less because you can work at your own pace I just would sue two weeks in one) then once I had three of the five certifications I started applying to Help Desk positions. That’s the key in the door for IT almost everyone who didn’t graduate with a doctorate in computer science starts at the help desk but that’s not where you’ll stay if you continue your education. Not that help desk is bad it’s just an office gig remotely fixing machines. I happened to work for a huge hospital in Upstate NY in their ISD they are the fifth largest employer in All of NY.
