Super awesome build! I always love these non-meta builds with versatility to branch into other weapons and play styles. Quick question, how does this do against Midra? I'm wondering about that madness buildup. I know the shield grease helps to negate the fire but does the status effect still proc and build?
@fujitafunk thanks! The build is a lot of fun too. If you are having issues with the madness build up, you can just equip the clarifying horn talisman or ailment talisman over the ritual shield talisman. Midra dies pretty damn quick tho with this build (with the proper scad level), so madness shouldn't be an issue. Always carry those bonuses too just in case.
I knew when I found them and saw that they're fist weapons with straight sword reach, the Patas would be amazing. Been running them with poison and new "poison bloom twice" AoW and they slap that way, but I'll definitely give this build a try as well. Looks really fun and strong.
Bolt my man thank you for this build. I was struggling with the DLC. Saw this vid, respec'ed my character and it has been a godsend. Made the DLC much more enjoyable as I was able to get thru it pretty easily. Thank you!
Yep, this is how i beat my first run as a caster. At Radahn i just swaped gear around, upgraded a fist weapon with endure and the best infusion for my caster and just went ham just like this. The only difference is that i struggled way more because i wasn't pure melee but after a couple tries i got it. A tip to be sven cheaper, when you break radahn, you have ample time to use one flask or doubleflask then riposte so you're topped off in both life and stamina by the time he's back up. It won't always go this well every time though. This might work with the dragon bolt stone skin buff thing too, i haven't tried it but i don't recall him doing lightning damage. Frankly, fists are a little broken for stance breaks, they really shouldn't outclass hammers even less so great hammers but it does i beleive very slightly less than a hammer but way faster which is ridiculous lol
Would love to see more PVE builds from you! Would be interested in an int build especially, feel like int didn't really get much new stuff to work with in the DLC
Impressive build, also for those less comfortable with the ritual sword talisman you can run the blade of mercy talisman (20% AR after crit for 20 seconds) since this build already excels at stance breaking so the buff should have reasonable uptime.
you should add the deflect tear to this build. It's strong even without all this stuff, but added to this shield focusd build with guard counters is even better.
@neurosis51 it's a great tear for sure but it's not needed on this build. The great shield with shield grease is already insane for guarding. The point of this build is to spam guard counters and charges r2's, to break the boss's stance and get juicy crits, the tears I used here help me break stance super easily.
Damn bro I been wondering where you was. But seriously I've been really interested in Elden Ring since the release of the DLC and luckily you upload build guides for the game
I never used fist-like weaps before, but this seems more like a fist + light rapier reach weap. And holy shit wtf is with those fast and huge stance breaks???? I gotta upgrade this. I just entered the DLC, Dancing Lion gave my spellsword a bit of hell, and made me realize my base game thrusting swords might be outclassed : D Good stuff mate.
@MgMast3r thanks! Yea fist weapons are very strong. Star fist is also top tier as it applies bleed as well. I really like the pata tho for the range and pierce damage it does for counter attacks. The R2 comes out super quick too!
I see where I went wrong with the face tanking on Promised Consort. I was healing right after breaking him and then going for the riposte instead of getting in the extra charged heavy. I got him down eventually, but took some tries.
You know what Bolt I was thinking about you today and said I need to check out if Bolt is okay and ask him about Elden Ring dlc and you just did it I can't believe it. That's amazing, thank you ! You rock ❤⚡❤

Instead of the kite shield for face tank version it’d prolly be better to use a left hand weapon with braggart roar to get 60 seconds of 10% damage negation and 20% faster stamina recovery.
@@AbraWhiteBoycharged heavy/guard counter hits for 30. stonebarb cracked tear increases this by 30% and cragblade increases it by 10%. since buffs stack multiplicatively this will increase that 30 stance damage by 43% which brings it to 42.9 stance damage.
I mean, you're maxed out at scadutree blessing 20. Build still looks solid but I think if people ran it at blessing 10 they'd be in for a rude awakening
He's a monster at 10 blessings. I fought him for almost 5 hours with 12 fragments initially when I first got to him and he felt almost impossible this was pre buffed fragments. I literally died in two hits to everything he did. Then came back at 16 with a new set up and whooped him pretty easily within the first 5 tries it's truly insane how much the fragments help and make this fight much easier.
Wait, so what good is Cragblade here even? If a charged R2 deals 30 stance damage, then 10 % more is 33... So a boss with 80 stance will still need 3 hits, and a boss with 120 will still need 4 hits. 🤔🤔🤷🏼♂️
I tried this build and it hasn't been great tbh, I'm on NG+ and struggling, thanks for the guide/video but I have a few questions: 1) I'm heavy rolling everywhere during exploration. Do you really need to use a great rune EVERY time to respawn?? 2) This build is REALLY bad at handling multiple enemies at once. The R1 damage is pitiful, you're forces to block and R2 almost every enemy. Am I missing something? 3) My R2 poise damage on bosses is not as high as yours, I've scoured the video but I'm not sure what I'm missing.
@jerryb232 obviously adjust your armor if you are fat rolling and don't wanna use a great rune. Use the great shield version and just guard counter everything. This build makes mobbing a joke and trivialized the game. Can swap out crag blade for endure when mobbing too. Face tank mobs and use charged r2's. I never use the light attack with the pata as the r2 comes out just as fast. With crag blade and the physik combo I use, a boss should be stunned in 3 guard counters/charged r2's. If it's taking you more, then the buff from your physik expired. Ypu need to be more aggressive and take advantage of the buff.
