    Easiest way to remove a clutch that is stuck on without a puller.
    We remove the electric clutch on a Toro Timecutter Z4220 zero turn riding mower
    Air hammer and penetrating oil were all that we used to get it off. You can do it with a hammer/punch and lightly tap but it takes significantly more time.
    You can purchase an air hammer similar to what we are using at amzn.to/3RkENRg

    Went out, sprayed with WD-40 and like magic I pulled it off.

    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    Since you are not (initially) trying to vibrate the PTO off the shaft, just getting the oil to penetrate, I suspect you could replace and fully seat the shaft bolt and beat against that to avoid boogering up the threads.

    How do you stop the crank shaft from turning on top while trying to unscrew the bolt holding the pto clutch. Im having to use a breakover bar because my impact won't break it loose and the shaft on top turns with the bolt on the bottom?

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  Месяц назад

      We always use a large impact, depending on the situation. If you do not have an impact big enough to do it, I have used a pipe wrench on the PTO pulley before if there is not an electric clutch. If it has an electric PTO clutch you will have to use something (or have someone hold) the flywheel under the engine shroud

    Can you remove the electric pto clutch if you’re not using a deck?

    • @IndRepair

      You could but then there would be nothing to keep the drive pulley on except the belt tension. Could potentially cause it to come off

      Depends on the model, most zero turns

    • @ArturoGarzaID
      @ArturoGarzaID 2 месяца назад

      Yeah the one I got has a bolt on the bottom and goes under the drive pulley. I was wondering because it’s an old tractor and we’re not using a deck on it anymore. I guess it’s gotta stay there then.

    How to get broke bolt out of clutch on Ferris zero turn mower

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  2 года назад +1

      You can use reverse drill bits, sometimes a regular drill bit in reverse will take it out also. Normally remaining threads are not tight in the shaft and these bits just thread them right out.
