I gasped and had to pause the video when he said he has a degree in anthropology, because I thought he had studied something else since he is a director and anthropology is my field as well, when I thought he couldn't be better, he surprised me once again.

Nolan Olson talk shows premiere only like a few days after they film so it wasn't that long ago! I think he said in an instagram post it was from a laser treatment actually, not surgery, (my bad) in the post you can see how bad it looked a week ago compared to now it looks a lot better!

My father swears a lot, probably worse when we were younger. I believe the first two expressions to ever come out fo my mouth because of his influence were "Bullshit", and "Mother Humpers". I believe he may have been trying to clean up his language around us kids with the later part of the later.

TheMasterSciFi Was it abuse or was it discipline? Therein lies your answer. Can you distinguish the two based on his anecdote? Has he ever indicated his mother abused him versus spanking him just like most moms did in this time period? It's a difficult line.

TheMasterSciFi Everybody doesn't grow up in Sweden though. In the US, spanking alone is not defined as child abuse. When it crosses a certain line? Sure. But again, that line is not clearly defined in this country. Most people here agree with spanking as a form of discipline. If you noticed, he mentioned other parents doing the same things to their kids. Especially if you grow up in the South. Different culture.
