so cool to see the screamin' eagle coaster in just its second season (added as an attraction for the bicentennial year, 1976)., the highest (110 ft) and fastest (62 mpi) coaster in the world at the time. an awesome ride.
I was working there that summer. Before the park opened to the public for the day, they would run the screaming eagle to warm up the tracks and let employees ride it. My friend, Pat and I would ride it and once it cleared the queue house, we’d ride it standing up holding the lap bar. Ah, to be a fearless and stupid teenager again Rofl!!!
Awesome video...!...Would love to see a list of past performers...Steppenwolf...that's cool...I went from 73-79 pretty regularly...remember seeing Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 there...1975?...does anyboby else remember seeing them there...?
Thank you for posting this. My family took me there when it looked like that when I was very young and it took me right back there. Such good memories.
Me too! And I think that was the year I was just tall enough to ride the Screamin' Eagle. When the line was short, my best friend and I would ride that coaster, get off, run all the way around, and ride it again! I wouldn't trade growing up in the '70s and '80s for anything!
Wow ! The Sky Way and Mississippi Adventure ride. Thanks for the precious memories. Was this when Sid and Marty Krofft characters were the mascots ? Wow, I miss these times.

It appears when this footage was taken that the train was traveling in the opposite direction as it currently does now which is interesting.
This really brings back some memories! Wow!
Really enjoyed this, incredible this footage exists! :)
