    I also have the acro P-2 and the aimpoint branded mounting plate. I only have 100 rounds with the acro mounted. Any problems with the plate? Specifically with screws coming loose or sheering off?

      @@aaronvargas3580 No problems so far. I have somewhere between 2-3,000 rounds on this optic setup and haven’t had any screws coming loose or shearing off. If you make sure to use a good thread locker for your screws and have a quality mounting plate you should have no issues. If I were to get another mounting plate I’d get the forward controls one, I think it’s a little higher quality then this, but I’m sure aimpoint’s mounting plate is good enough. The shearing off I think is usually due to cheap and low quality screws like the ones Glock sends with their mos plates. Really cheap, weak material stuff. Forward controls and aimpoint send their own screws that are better quality. Screws coming loose is due to not being torqued to spec/tight enough and not using thread locker on the screws.

    Backup irons are kind of nice for super close fast shooting.
    Great video!

      Thank you! Yeah I can see that point. When you’re so close to the target, you almost don’t even need to see your sighting system. If you look where you want to shoot, bring your gun to where you’re looking and pull the trigger. Your round will pretty much end up exactly or close to where you were looking. Kind of like when I point at something, when I’m pointing at something, I don’t look at my finger, I look where I want to point. This works for me usually up to 5 yards and sometimes you can push it out to 10 yards or further. When transitioning really fast or shooting fast up close, it has slowed me down to try to find my red dot or irons looking through the glass. This is what I’ve found out during my training but may not work for you. Longer range definitely want to see your sights. But i can see how irons can be useful that way.

    No matter what it’s the best looking one. Only complaint is the plastic battery cap. The wind and elevation should just be a flat head than a T torque but other than that it’s great also the mounting option is super reliable and solid. Only problem is the special footprint. Great video tho!

      All valid and true points. I agree 100%. None of those are huge problems but aimpoint could’ve made it better in those areas. Thank you!

    How does your glock 17 with the acro fit in a safariland 6354do?

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  5 месяцев назад +1

      I haven’t been able to try it in the 6354do. According to their website, it fits similar optics to the Trijicon rmr and holosun 507. So I would say it probably won’t fit with the aimpoint acro. I do however run this gun in the safariland 6354 RDSO which works great but you have to specifically select which optic you’re using in the holster because of the kydex mold and fitment. The 6354 rdso is my favorite outside the waist band holster if you’re looking for retention and optic/light coverage. If not, the Trex arms Ragnarok is a great holster without locking mechanisms and fits all optics.

    B&T just released a milled down G19 to accommodate those P2 lower than a MOS. GLOCKS are not my thing, but I might even get one of those. BTW.. Nice set up

      That’s interesting they’re doing that. Threaded barrel and all. Might be able to it cheaper if you buy it separately, if you don’t care about the threaded barrel. Thank you 🙏🏼

    The trijicon RCR is a good enclosed Red Dot but the AimPoint P2 is better I know the mounting system on on the trijicon is horrendous trying to torque spec those weird screws that they give you you can't so it kind of defeats the purpose if you can't actually secure them torque them properly the P2 you can you get a good strong plate and it will never come off and I'm talking through experience because I know I have them all that's why I am saying what I'm saying I have two acro p2s and I wouldn't trade them for anything not even any trijicon product out there product out there like I said experience is the reason why I'm saying what I'm saying

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  3 месяца назад +1

      I understand your points. They do give you a torque tool and card to be able to measure and torque the rcr to spec but yeah you can’t use something easy and exact like a torque driver or wrench. I do like the brightness buttons more on the rcr because they’re bigger. Also the windage and elevation adjustments on the rcr a little more too. The cool thing about the rcr is that it shares the same mounting footprint as the rmr. Window size is about the same,rcr might be a little bigger. But yes the acro p2 is amazing. I have 2 as well. I would like to try out the rcr though to compare. I just got a rmr hd for my carry pistol and im going to be doing videos on that. That optic is awesome.

      @@GearAndGuns yeah I definitely hear you but the thing that really frustrates the heck out of me with trijicon is that they have all this technology all the money they make every year and they can't come up with a better freaking footprint for an enclosed optic that it took him 10 years to develop I mean seriously look the mounting system sucks on it I know they give you a card and they give you a flimsy wrench it takes forever and you don't feel secure enough to use it in a duty grade type of weapon I know all these paid RUclipsrs make it look like it's so secure and so sturdy but it's not it's a pain in the butt and it really gets me mad that trijicon doesn't come up with a better system I mean seriously holosun with the EPS how come they can do it and trijicon can't other than that it is a really clear glass and really nice. It's a nice optic but what good is it going to do you have a frustrate you so much and you don't feel confident with the mounting system

    • @GearAndGuns
      @GearAndGuns  3 месяца назад +1

      @@peterkavourias286 I understand your frustration. It is pretty stupid. I think they just wanted it to match their rmr footprint so it’s interchangeable with any of the Trijicon pistol optics which I do like that aspect. I do trust Trijicon though and would say that if you do mount it correctly, it will be secure. Just not as easy as torque to spec as a traditional torque driver.
