    Standard Belt Break-In: Drive at slower speeds for the first 50 miles (80 kilometers) of operation. Carry only light loads. Avoid aggressive acceleration, high-speed operation and prolonged operation at a specific RPM during this period.

    Looks more like driver beware. You gotta break-in a CVT belt the right way. Get a belt, break it in, and get back to enjoying your Polaris and making videos.

    Hey man. My uncle got a 2016 scrambled 1k brand new around the same time as my dad got his 2016 renegade xmr 1k. The scrambler was always the problem child. It was awesome when it worked but was a $15k paper weight the majority of the time. Needless to say my dad still has the renegade and my uncle bought one as well. We love them, like every atv however they aren’t without issue but much better off than the scrambler in our case. Best of luck with it in the future! I’m sure you’ll get things straightened out

    Tough break man, ive had good luck with belts by using low range anytime im not going to be exceeding 25mph or so. Going slow or hill climbing, anything technical in high puts a lot of strain on a belt. Like riding a mountain bike in high gear on a trail, if you were strong enough to pedal up a hill you would prob snap the chain.

    Your throttle habits is why your belt blew, keep consistent throttle control. I think you like the sound burp burp. My 2019 850 renegade has 650 miles and still running factory belt even been stuck a few times both in mud and snow.

      We Ride New England was just my observation of the sound from the video, at slow speeds not high speed I guess it could be the engine breaking takes throttle to disengage it. Sounds like you pump the throttle a lot during low speed riding.

    I have a 2019 Can Am Outlander I dropped into a 15ft deep water hole a week after I got it. The thing was completely submerged for about 10-20 mins while we pulled it out. I drained all the water and fluids out, flushed everything with Diesel fuel , and then changed all the fluids a few times. I now have over 3.5k miles on it and The only part I’ve replaced or had an issue with is the belt. I’ve had nothing but issues with Polaris.... even if you ride them easy.

  • @NorthCountryBoyz
    @NorthCountryBoyz 4 года назад +2

    Starting it up with a shredded belt isn’t the best of ideas...as far as blowing a belt it’s hard to say without knowing how you ride or how you’ve broken it in. Are you riding in high or low? What are the trails? You can easily blow a belt no matter how new it is if ripping it in conditions like up hill climbs in which riding in low would be best option. Just speaking through experience of doing more than enough damage of my own and mostly being rider error.

    • @WeRidee
      @WeRidee  4 года назад

      North Country Boyz the hill climbs I do are long and I’m going up them at around 35mph. Nothing slow where I ride. Always fast paced riding.

    • @NorthCountryBoyz
      @NorthCountryBoyz 4 года назад

      @@goatcreek I kind of sort of thought that one myself. Listen, when it comes down to it I am all about people learning new things. Just don't bitch about it when something goes wrong and it rightfully should have gone wrong. It's a learning curve when you jump on machines like this. Whether it's a CanAm or Polaris. If you don't break it in right or you push it in ways you shouldn't in grears ya shouldn't...then shit is going to happen. I have been riding for many years and riding with many others with far more riding experience than myself. I will tell ya the number one thing that we all do when we look back at other riders in certain situations. We give the L with 4 fingers multiple times until we see that rider switch to L 4X4. Once you learn it ya know it and that is all there is to it.

    Majority of the time a belt is blown due to operator error, check out Hunterworks, he has couple videos about why belts are blowing up, also look at belt temp gauges that way you can see how your riding affects belt temp. I would also say you need to ride in low more often.

      @@WeRidee which is why I'm glad the dealer covered it. You failed a belt because something else failed on the vehicle. When you break in the new belt, the main thing is not holding it to the bar for long periods of time and making sure the belt is heat soaked for about 20 minutes or more before you let the belt cool off again. So that at few times, try to never be in the throttle without the tires spinning for more then 3 or 4 seconds (use low gear) and have fun.

    Sorry about your luck, but you can improve the belt life by performing proper break in, read your owners manual about recommended break in. I would also recommend you get rollers for the secondary clutch or it will be trashed in short order. Contact Hunterworks for clutching upgrades. First year machines from Polaris usually have issues which may or may not get corrected, again you may have to look to the aftermarket for upgrades.

      Your welcome, I currently have 12 Polaris's and other than the RS1 they have all had some type of issue that could use improvement. The Scrambler and Sportsman 1000's need front diff pinion mounting plates as they are very weak and break, yours has the updated front diff so that shouldn't be an issue. I bought a new Predator and the upper ball joints were excessively loose before I ever road it. Got new upper arms from the dealer before I would ride it. 800 Sportsman had terrible bar shake over 30 mph which took two new tires and a good balance job to correct and I could keep going but you get the idea. Polaris has some nice features but they lack in overall engineering, it's unfortunate but that's the way it is. The aftermarket offers upgrades many times to fix the shortcomings, you can go back to the dealer and get the parts replaced but you still have the same problem.

    Your doing wheelies without breaking in the belt. It takes at least 50 miles to break in belt. So take it easy on the next belt for 50 miles. You should not be riding that hard right now. Check the oil level and read break in istruction and oil level dipstick instruction. 1/2 quart low is a lot when breaking in the motor. You may want to have the dealer change the oil this time and have them check your spark plugs. Believe me after two rebuilds on my 850 I don’t want too see that happen to you. The oil filter is on the bottom of the machine so if it’s not tight and you submerged the machine in deep water your engine could get water in it. I talk to atv repair shop that rebuild s motors because of water damage all the time.
