Pretty easy to fold to the check raise on flop. I wouldn't even have bet the flop actually. Holdem is not my game though.

Because its the best not paired hand. It has some showdown value. It has outs to improve. It blocks Ivey's value etc.
@jrm8206 K high is NOT the best non paired hand. Ivey could still be raising with A X high of diamonds. The equity in Kerry's hand can already be slim.

KQo is a straight fold right there, it has low equity overall so no reason to call imo.

Because Ivey is likely the big blind, which means he has a very wide range here. Katz, who is UTG, has a relatively narrow range, which includes a lot of over-cards.
Low paired boards are wonderful opportunities for the BB to bluff check-raise -- and good players will do it often to put pressure on their opponents and put them in tough spots. You can't just fold to a raise with A or K high every single time here, because that will make you very easy to play against.
This isn't 1/2 where check-raises are almost all for value -- these are pro players who know what they are doing.

Well he just meant that he was going to be bummed if Ivey had a 10. He specified quads because in that moment having the 10 would give you quads.

I wonder if him saying that saved him money? It's possible Ivey would've shoved otherwise and maybe Katz had already resigned himself to calling. Then again Katz probably should've just folded regardleess. Impossible to know for sure what they each were thinking.

Hy guys ,i hope this message finds you well. Let me tell you the right story just for the beauty of the game: first of all , KQ it'a must check on this flop against BB defending more 10x then us ,the reason is pretty simple & logic : Ivey will raise this board with worst hands (all gutshots,diamonds, some 8x-9x with backdoor) that will make us fold later the best hand so the c-bet on this board is not good ,rather than that is very exploitable . On the K turn maybe that Ivey would be checking one more time the turn with the intention of x/raises him. In this situation ,Katz should check again with the intention of looking like A high and Ivey attacking the river with a very big portion of his bluffing range. So my advise for all of us playing poker at a high level would be : choose very well the boards where you really should have a c-bet or not and start from there. An early bad decision would bring you another one bad later so just please do not put you in that spot by c-beting , thank me later ❤
