Something I would have found helpful would have been a price plan comparison between these website builders...to weigh up the best option for the budget available as a newbie.. but really found this review helpful..as I would not even known what I was getting was not as good as other options.

Great suggestion! Like a “website builders on a budget” video? (Ps - definitely check out Carrd if you’re on a budget)

@@stevebuildswebsites Thanks I'm just checking out Carrd, how does it compare to the budget-friendly Big Cartel? I'm selling my own products (which BC is really aimed towards and has everything I need for now) for a small start-up business so nothing big and expensive is needed at this stage. Thanks

I am learning the hard way. They don’t respond to any issues. Terrible customer support and service.

I came into the job and they already had GODADDY. Now I have begun to upgrade and modernize their site, change it up, they have had the same for 5 years. BUT, I am running into so many road blocks. It is not user friendly. I am looking for a new website, we do not sell e-commerce so that is not an issue. I just want to add drop down boxes and links for information to the products. Any suggestions?

I use Squarespace whenever I need a website builder!

You don't need WooCommerce - they don't have ecommerce :)

Squarespace is pricey and Godaddy is much cheaper but limitations on designing

you picked the section that says it is ideal for long blocks of text and then criticized it for not being good at pictures and formatting. the other section templates looked like better options for an image or header rich section.

Can’t you just select to add a new section that’s better suited in your design and remove the one that doesn’t have all the parts you want? That’s it! Select the sections that have the look you want and edit those. They have several layout options per section. Hope this makes sense!

Yep! But that's all you can do - and that is too simple. A modern website builder (ex: Squarespace, Wix) should give you the option to add and remove both sections and elements. Not just sections.

Not even that good. I paid -- paid GoDaddy folks about 200 dollars like 6 years ago to make a page for me, after I could not get it figured out. The page they made for me was a joke. They threw together a few pictures -- pictures that had zero -- zero -- to do with what I needed, and what I told them. That was 200 dollars for nothing. Apparently the folks at GoDaddy -- nice on the phone -- just fail to test their builder. They check their own homework, in other words.
