Good discussion! One thing though: The guys saying FrSky pushed out an update that bricked their quads? Total BS. FrSky doesn't push out anything, they had to choose to update. Yes, in the distant past there were some firmware screw ups that made older receivers no longer talk to the FrSky radios but that's ancient history. Unfortunately, the multirotor crowd seems to hold a grudge and won't even give FrSky a chance. If future EdgeTX radios can match the smooth operation of FrSkky radios with Ethos, I'd consider moving everything over. Till then, the FrSky transmitters are much better in operation than anything EdgeTX I've tried to date. So for now, I have a mix of FrSky receivers and ELRS, and I just run an ELRS module in my FrSky radio. It's good to have choices, and I hope Radiomaster or Jumper (or whoever) releases some better hardware in the future.

I have FRSKY and TX16 with AG01 gimbals. Prefer FRSKY for every aspect with exception of the buttery smooth AG01's. Getting my X20RS gimbals pretty dang close though. Ethos vs Edge TX is no comparison. I've switch all my Heli's 8 of them to RF and FRSKY.

Your information about frsky has false information. It is not a closed source…. And the changing of protocol was about 5-6 years ago…
