you can still collect good vc IF you grind. I just bought the standard game and haven't bought any extra vc or season pass. I have only one build and I'm grinding the next build with the vc I earn from the next levels. The grind is super shitty at times, but I refuse to pay extra for such a frustrating bs game
Shooting and dribbling is terrible on 25. When you drive there’s a parachute slowing you down and defenses recover even tho they’re not in position too, to then kick you out of animations. This isn’t realistic at all it’s annoying as hell

My opinion is lack of variety. It gets boring watching everybody do the same thing over and over again. Small guard 99 three, center 99 rebound and lockdown 99 defense. No variety anymore.
2k only got one option to save this game bring back superstar builders don’t penalize actual shooters who’s not cheating , banned cheaters forever take them to court , fix dunks & missed layups fix inconsistent paint defense stop rewarding people who suck & stop being a greedy mf company ! just my opinion tho
For me, who’s played 2k for years and spent hundreds of dollars every time. It was quite simple to me. Ea College football 25 took me away. And specifically, the realization the most fun mode in the game (online dynasty) didn’t require me to spend hundreds of dollars to enjoy. 2k has put their MYGM and online dynasty game mode on the back burner for fantasy modes (MY TEAM, MY CAREER). They got too money hungry on micro transactions. Reminds me of GameStop. You can only rip people off for so long until they start fighting back.
Once I began to realize that what I was doing on my controller, wasn’t controlling the outcome of the game? That was my breaking point, I was done. The same outcome was happening no matter what two teams I was using, I went back to older games where stick control mattered and made a difference.
Once upon a time, fading shot creators were goated in the game and the mid-range game was damn near unstoppable. But once the community started complaining, 2K swiftly nerfed those builds out the game. So we can't complain about 3-pt hunting when we render the alternatives useless.
I think the problem is that 2k has become a RNG game rather than a basketball simulator. Along with the fact that you have to spend so much money on attributes that really don’t make a difference in the long run now. Then coupled with the fact you have to go to the shooting gym, the gatorade gym, and find the setting for shots. It’s just too much of a grind now. When you could go play a game like Ark for example and actually see your grinding pay off, you can’t get that with 2k. Then you have to deal with randoms selling on you 90% of the time if they don’t touch the ball every single time down the floor. Weird animations, 2k making your player do something you’re not even want to do. It’s just a lot to deal with, easier to just hop on another game and actually have fun.
100 a build is wild no MMO is that expensive and most let you respec your points. 2k does not once you use the cap breaks you grinded for they are stuck where you put them and it’s 100 to try again if you don’t like it.

So I’ve been playing online since 2k10 and even then it was heavily focused on pick and roll shooting, corner cheese, etc. the difference though is that people still played team basketball and didn’t rely on cheese to be their whole foundation. But today, that’s all it is. Straight cheese.

The reason why its just been nothing but 3pt and dunks is because the leveling sysyem per game is not rewarding enough to make anyone want to stay in a game, so the gamers mindset is to get it over with as fast as possible to go into the next game. If the leveling/reward system was like NBA live 19, people would want to play as a team.

You’re not a lock if you rely on steals. 😂 All 5 of my builds(3 pg’s ,1 Pf, 1 Center) are 2-ways with little to no steals(except for 1 with 79 steal) but high interior(74 or 82), perimeter(85 and 74 for the center), blocking(84 for all except for 1 pg), and strength(85 for all and 91 for the Center). And I learned how to really lockdown everything by not spamming the X button or whatever it is in PlayStation. Also I average a steal in 3’s and 2.5 steals in rec. 3 blocks in all game modes and only give up 4 points a game. Being a lock doesn’t mean stealing the ball, it means disrupting their offensive play no matter what.

I was shooting 60% when the game 1st dropped now I was at 53%. Hopped back on 24 today played 6 games and throughout those 6 games I shot 70% from 3 it was a biiig difference and shot was consistent
Ive been streaming games for 10 years now, NBA is being watched but not watched on those costly ass services. As far as 2K25 it is simply not a good game. The city is too vast games are slow content creators have been bought and paid for, in fact they were the first to use all those cheats they bitch about, which in turn has made he devs include THOUSANDS of useless forced animation, and the server lag is still purposely horrible...it has to be at this point what else can it be? Think about the times we actually watched rivals in the NBA go at it, the physicality, efficientcy, has been taken away and it sucks to watch. But 2k isn't down because of NBA viewership is down it's the fact that you only can control 50% of your player and only way to get back control is going max 99 attribute on a build just to feel in control it's sad because 99 stats were frowned upon once upon a time in 2k you didn't need it because what you could control it's what separated skill from casual normally you'd see a 15 win% dude with a 99 stat because they were bad at the game now it's the only way to have full control well at least 90% of the time. It's like the game plays for you so randomly that's why ppl holler RNG.
2k needs to stop trying to fix cheaters within the gameplay because in turn it’s patching the normal joe just trying to play the game fair. They wouldn’t have to jump through all these hoops if it was an anti cheat system and or a valid report and investigation system. They’ve already tried to make us ignore the cheating by turning off the ability for us to see opponents meters.

Let's make it clear the NBA league pass is 109 dollars, but you can't you can't watch the games in your market. Like for me I live in Toledo Ohio I can't watch Cleveland cavaliers or Detroit Pistons. Lucky for me I'm a born and raised Chicago bulls fan from Chicago.
The problem with the park is that squads will get on random court which makes it harder to even get a decent game…. Everybody is so worried about their record that nobody is willing to go to the park alone so they rather just theater a matchmaking
Living in NC, in order to legally watch the charlotte hornets you have pay $20 to fan duel sports. Can’t watch legally through local cable…and my Hornets SSUUUUCCKKK. Hard to justify paying extra for trash so I cancelled. Not sure how it is in other markets but I’m definitely not watching my own team and that bleeds over into watching other games. Just don’t have the desire for it
I been saying the same thing since I started playing 2k in 2k19: the park is cool and all but make a quick queue option for those of us trying to hoop not walk around and show off how much money we have to spend on this garbage. The park should be an extension, a lifestyle mode, and you should be able to press pause and load up a damn park game.

Mann I have 12 builds and each build is definitely a banger, each build is different and that is what keeps me playing the game if I played with one build the game wouldn’t even be playable because of how boring it really is. I have witnessed here on RUclips people trying out 3rd party sellers that sells vc and they get scammed trying to keep up with what’s hot (the new meta build) 😂 the community fell a long time ago because of SOOOO MANY reasons. Want a solution.? Personally to me they barely listen to content creators as well BUT allowing the community to play a HUGE part in just 1 update will restore the community not by a whole lot but it would be a start. The last nba game I watched in full was warriors vs cavs in 2017 finals game 4. The NBA itself is unbearable to watch for me now. This coming from a person that’s first ever nba game was game 7 97 western conference finals Utah vs Houston and I was on basketball after that like I was on the needle. 2k viewership is going down because gameplay is very frustrating, content is lazy copy and paste, the rewards are long drawn out and unrewarding, and the community itself is very burned out. My honest opinion I think 2k is in a cycle where they are trying to get rid of the old burned out community. Like a cleaning house process. A lot of people are moving on from 2k and 2k doesn’t seemed interested in improving the game to bring them back. Talking from a Myteam perspective all the incentives to play the game in rewards 2k has removed and no matter how much the community has complained they have not listened. And to further slap us in the face they will give us rewards we used to get every game as a weekend event. This shows us 2k saying we could do bring things back we just won’t

I think it’s because streaming has changed it’s not so much being very good at the game it’s more so who can entertain. The only quote unquote exciting thing you can do on 2k to really get views seems to be build videos.
The game just isn’t as fun to play as past games. The top 3 exciting things to watch in the NBA is dunking, shooting, and ball handling. 2k limited all three. There’s a million dribble styles but only three are useable because the launch system is terrible. It’s damn near impossible to get past those 6’6 240lbs super lockdown builds. Shooting got better with patches but teams are still too comfortable leaking off players to pinch or just flat out leaving guys wide open because there’s a good chance the shot will be missed. Thats why everyone play 2-3 and spams passing lanes. Slashing is basically irrelevant now because dunking is atrocious. Anyone can bump you out of a dunk.
2k is cooked. I literally can’t get a game. Open courts at the park. Players just standing there. Go to the rec n wait 5+ mins for a game. If ya get a game!
I tried to watch the 76ers game. It was terrible. Embiid was playing like he was in 2k. He had one move. Step back. Step back 2 or step back 3. In 2k terms, a post scorer spamming everything but post scoring moves.
It's because the game is copy pasted every year, with a couple of questionable changes...creating one player costs most than a full priced game...players are toxic and cowardly...I had fun with it because I skipped last year, so it felt somewhat fresh...but even then, I haven't fired it up in ages. You have to spend a ton of money to play this game. You have to spend money on a build, then you have to grind your badges, and overall, and the city is trash. They should have the 2k15 parks as a permanent part of the game, and also, the game play is slow, and the dribbling sucks and lastly the shooting is so inconsistent this year compared to any other 2k in previous years. I didn't mention the toxic community and the out of touch development team

You’re not a lock if you rely on steals. 😂 All 5 of my builds(3 pg’s ,1 Pf, 1 Center) are 2-ways with little to no steals(except for 1 with 79 steal) but high interior(74 or 82), perimeter(85 and 74 for the center), blocking(84 for all except for 1 pg), and strength(85 for all and 91 for the Center). And I learned how to really lockdown everything by not spamming the X button or whatever it is in PlayStation. Also I average a steal in 3’s and 2.5 steals in rec. 3 blocks in all game modes and only give up 4 points a game.
Being a lock doesn’t mean stealing the ball, it means disrupting their offensive play no matter what.

@@jayforte7601definitely not . I deleted 25 because of the dumb inconsistency on shooting . Every shot timing is different which is dumb when you wide the hell open with no one defending you. I was shooting 60% when the game 1st dropped now I was at 53%. Hopped back on 24 today played 6 games and throughout those 6 games I shot 70% from 3 it was a biiig difference and shot was consistent
Ive been streaming games for 10 years now, NBA is being watched but not watched on those costly ass services. As far as 2K25 it is simply not a good game. The city is too vast games are slow content creators have been bought and paid for, in fact they were the first to use all those cheats they bitch about, which in turn has made he devs include THOUSANDS of useless forced animation, and the server lag is still purposely horrible...it has to be at this point what else can it be? I wait for the game to drop to 40 dollars every year, so I never pay full price. I barley play this game its 2K18 all over for me on this one.
To be honest I just believe that the people that play the game don’t have no integrity and no patience to get better at the game. People think they suppose to pick this up and automatically be good but it doesn’t work like that…..you have to just have that dog in you sometimes and learn from the losses but this generation is nothing but a bunch of quitters so things are just gonna stay the same unfortunately!!

Basically boring basketball. Three hunting is the cause Curry really messed the game up. Think about the times we actually watched rivals in the NBA go at it, the physicality, efficientcy, has been taken away and it sucks to watch. But 2k isn't down because of NBA viewership is down it's the fact that you only can control 50% of your player and only way to get back control is going max 99 attribute on a build just to feel in control it's sad because 99 stats were frowned upon once upon a time in 2k you didn't need it because what you could control it's what separated skill from casual normally you'd see a 15 win% dude with a 99 stat because they were bad at the game now it's the only way to have full control well at least 90% of the time. It's like the game plays for you so randomly that's why ppl holler RNG.

2k needs to stop trying to fix cheaters within the gameplay because in turn it’s patching the normal joe just trying to play the game fair. They wouldn’t have to jump through all these hoops if it was an anti cheat system and or a valid report and investigation system. They’ve already tried to make us ignore the cheating by turning off the ability for us to see opponents meters.
Man if 2k had some competition like real competition I whole heartedly believe that Ronnie and Mike would def be without a job. They drop the ball so consistently but because there’s nothing else they face no repercussions.
Let's make it clear the NBA league pass is 109 dollars, but you can't you can't watch the games in your market. Like for me I live in Toledo Ohio I can't watch Cleveland cavaliers or Detroit Pistons. Lucky for me I'm a born and raised Chicago bulls fan from Chicago.

The problem with the park is that squads will get on random court which makes it harder to even get a decent game…. Everybody is so worried about their record that nobody is willing to go to the park alone so they rather just theater a matchmaking

Living in NC, in order to legally watch the charlotte hornets you have pay $20 to fan duel sports. Can’t watch legally through local cable…and my Hornets SSUUUUCCKKK. Hard to justify paying extra for trash so I cancelled. Not sure how it is in other markets but I’m definitely not watching my own team and that bleeds over into watching other games. Just don’t have the desire for it

I been saying the same thing since I started playing 2k in 2k19: the park is cool and all but make a quick queue option for those of us trying to hoop not walk around and show off how much money we have to spend on this garbage. The park should be an extension, a lifestyle mode, and you should be able to press pause and load up a damn park game.

Mann I have 12 builds and each build is definitely a banger, each build is different and that is what keeps me playing the game if I played with one build the game wouldn’t even be playable because of how boring it really is. I have witnessed here on RUclips people trying out 3rd party sellers that sells vc and they get scammed trying to keep up with what’s hot (the new meta build) 😂 the community fell a long time ago because of SOOOO MANY reasons. Want a solution.? Personally to me they barely listen to content creators as well BUT allowing the community to play a HUGE part in just 1 update will restore the community not by a whole lot but it would be a start. Allow us to enjoy the game, to hell with the cheaters, cheaters will always find a way to cheat. Honestly nobody cared about cheaters really until RNG system became “the reason” for missed timed shots etc. but I do thank the content creators for having our back and letting it be known that we are all being screwed on the daily 💯

Purchased base game and made a couple builds to test but never put VC towards any player and I’m glade I didn’t because I haven’t played 2k since September way too many fire single player joints dropped and hearing everyday it’s getting worse and worse.
The last nba game I watched in full was warriors vs cavs in 2017 finals game 4. The NBA itself is unbearable to watch for me now. This coming from a person that’s first ever nba game was game 7 97 western conference finals Utah vs Houston and I was on basketball after that like I was on the needle. 2k viewership is going down because gameplay is very frustrating, content is lazy copy and paste, the rewards are long drawn out and unrewarding, and the community itself is very burned out. My honest opinion I think 2k is in a cycle where they are trying to get rid of the old burned out community. Like a cleaning house process. A lot of people are moving on from 2k and 2k doesn’t seemed interested in improving the game to bring them back. Talking from a Myteam perspective all the incentives to play the game in rewards 2k has removed and no matter how much the community has complained they have not listened. And to further slap us in the face they will give us rewards we used to get every game as a weekend event. This shows us 2k saying we could do bring things back we just won’t
I haven’t played 2k in 3 weeks. Been playing other games. They ruined game play and it’s gets worse with each years release.

I think it’s because streaming has changed it’s not so much being very good at the game it’s more so who can entertain. The only quote unquote exciting thing you can do on 2k to really get views seems to be build videos.
The game just isn’t as fun to play as past games. The top 3 exciting things to watch in the NBA is dunking, shooting, and ball handling. 2k limited all three.
There’s a million dribble styles but only three are useable because the launch system is terrible. It’s damn near impossible to get past those 6’6 240lbs super lockdown builds.
Shooting got better with patches but teams are still too comfortable leaking off players to pinch or just flat out leaving guys wide open because there’s a good chance the shot will be missed. Thats why everyone play 2-3 and spams passing lanes.
Slashing is basically irrelevant now because dunking is atrocious. Anyone can bump you out of a dunk.
2k is cooked. I literally can’t get a game. Open courts at the park. Players just standing there. Go to the rec n wait 5+ mins for a game. If ya get a game!
I tried to watch the 76ers game. It was terrible. Embiid was playing like he was in 2k. He had one move. Step back. Step back 2 or step back 3. In 2k terms, a post scorer spamming everything but post scoring moves.

It's because the game is copy pasted every year, with a couple of questionable changes...creating one player costs most than a full priced game...players are toxic and cowardly...I had fun with it because I skipped last year, so it felt somewhat fresh...but even then, I haven't fired it up in ages. Much better games to play

You have to spend a ton of money to play this game. You have to spend money on a build, then you have to grind your badges, and overall, and the city is trash. They should have the 2k15 parks as a permanent part of the game, and also, the game play is slow, and the dribbling sucks and lastly the shooting is so inconsistent this year compared to any other 2k in previous years. I didn't mention the toxic community and the out of touch development team

I don't expect ppl to play basketball in a video game environment. the funny thing is that ppl tend to play all games like they're all rpg's and there is no way around this unfortunately. micro transactions aren't mandatory. the grind and toxic players/player who play too win influences other ppl to make the purchase for the sake of winning. which makes actually learning how to be skillful at the game unvaluable.
