People who fly with this airline didnt choose comfort, they choose affordability.
So, yes, this is an airline of choice for most filipinos who work abroad and wanted to go home, and still be able to spend less so they can provide it to their families.
True, however it doesnt take away the fact that Cebu pacific could have definitely done more for their customers experience. I've flown with them a few times and service is always fantastic, however comfort of any sort was an absolute no no, they should do more for sure
Well yeah of course. It's no different than the rest of the world's budget airlines haha trying to fit as many people to sell the seats as cheap as possible. It's an A380 with no first/business class so it's able to fit a massive load.
Same as here in the UK, people choose Ryanair, Easyjet or Wizzair, people will holiday on budgets for their own income they earn.
@@enthusiastisch1922 I think that the reason this is not a pleasant flight is that it's cheap. It's cheaper per mile flown than Ryanair. Ryanair is a short haul airline so they have no entertainment and restricted legroom is ok for say up to 3 hours. Believe me at about the 5 hour point the pain sets in, and by 8 it does become torture, even on a flag carrier premium airline. But Filipinos are notably more resilient and accepting than westerners. If you doubt that then investigate the terrible semi captive conditions as domestic workers that many Fiilipino OFWs endure in middle Eastern countries. They accept this life with resignation in order to feed their families. The pain of this flight is small compared to the daily indignities they endure. I can only imagine the mental agony of those flying away from their homes and family but suspect that it is palpable to all on these outward OFW flights. Conversely, I suspect return journeys brim with the joy of optimism and with the hold stuffed full of balikbayen boxes (tax free gift boxes) of electrical goods and other luxuries for their families. It is little surprise that Filipinos are religious people because for many there is little reward on this earth for them other than their love of God and family! Thus I suspect they'd rather put gifts in the hold than pay for greater comfort.
why you mad, I wouldn't even want to chose Cebu Pacific. It always good to get an account from someone who experienced it compared to someone who hasn't and was about to buy a ticket.
As a retired pilot, consider yourself lucky that you were flying with the Philippine people who I consider some of the nicest in the world. You could have been in there with a bunch of crabby Americans.
You're utterly missing the point. Noel is demonstrating the full flight experience...the crew might be the nicest people in the world, but with a craptacular product like that, who'd fly it by choice? Now we all know to avoid that flight.
@@francescoavila598 of course you dont....cose you look over everyone .... the same patronizing shitty , cry baby attitude ... I've been between americans few years of my life ... OMG, the worst of the worst ... entitled assholes

I could handle being squashed into that sardine can for relatively short flights, but anything over about 4hrs would see me choosing a full service carrier

That also annoyed me.

Well, at one side. I agree with you, but on another side, i also agree with you
Most entertaining review I’ve seen! Lost it at the boarding song they had. Wouldn’t take this flight myself but I do like the concept. I have Filipino colleagues who worked in the Middle East before immigrating here to Canada. They would tell me stories on how they made just enough money to support family back home and that it’s common to seek jobs there. So I think this service is catered for them.
it's funny how gulf countries are racist, they do treat horribly south east Asians, while if u r from western countries u get good salaries, not talking about gays, and west keeps picking up on russia, a bit hypocritical if u ask me
$ 177 this is cheap for a 10 hour flight. You can't expect luxury there. I find this very fair for the many guest workers who have to travel to Dubai. If this service is not intended for Europeans. Should they remain silent and fly to Emirates or Qatar.
I could get all three chairs.for.450
Damn
U make a business class flat seat
Dont be mad at him it is probably his first time flying
I booked a two flights MNL-DXB-MNL (June and Nov) for only $60 return ($120 in total) planning to book onward ticket to egypt and europe. Going to Egypt/Europe from Manila will cost me $1200 for return flight. While i can only get it as low as $300 from Dubai
Damn that's a good price! I'm up to $5000 and still haven't got a flight that was not cancelled.
@@pal0015 hahaha nice.
Flights such as these are primarily for Filipino OFWs (Overseas Foreign Workers). OFWs have very limited funds and Filipinos are typically smaller in body build. As such they fit in the seats just fine (as does my wife) and are more than willing to be closer together. In point of fact, as an expat living in the Philippines, it seems to me that in the eyes of many Filipinos, being close together is just fine. (IMHO, Filipinos don't require the 'personal space' others might, even when it comes to sleeping arrangements.) I also find the seats on most airlines economy offerings way too hard on my rear and at times put the pillow under my rear. So that isn't just Cebu Pacific... it's just that YOU don't fly economy for 10 hours normally.
The food you were served is also not meant for the typical first-worlder palate. What you ate was Filipino comfort food and the fact that there was twice as much rice as the meat portion in perfectly normal. If you ask a Filipino what they ate for their last meal, they will tell you, 'Rice!' Yes, rice is the meal and everything else is the topping.
This is a budget Filipino flight, by Filipinos, for Filipinos. Cebu Pacific's slogan used to be..."Every Juan can Fly!"
We fly Cebu Pacific regularly between islands here in the Philippines. Their short hop service is not without its problems, but the prices are good, the staff are good and the schedules, number of flights per day to a destination, are in most cases better than their main competitor Philippine Airlines.
@Gary Holden , Sure, also, I am not a fan of Pinoy Spaghetti, but then I am not Pinoy. And if you aren't Pinoy, you may not be the best person to decide to make your claim.
Mike Lieberman thanks for making the point we would want to tell the author
@@tyronwensleygratil3313 , Walang anuman, Po.
well said sir! For me as a filipino who's living outside Phil, cebupacific brings every Pinoys abroad closer to home country by ways of what? Ofcourse cheap fares.. you should not expect more from a $170 fare compare to like $500++ on other on the same route..
I live permanently outside Philippines now, but everytime I want to see my former officemates, college friends or if ever there's a special gathering I always chose cheaper flights, I can pay though for some decent airlines but still as Pinoy would rather save money and go for a cheap one.. 😄😄
i was an OFW in Qatar, we were given money for an economy ticket back home once a year. Dubai should have similar benefits for workers if i'm not mistaken. Only reason these people would ride Cebu is to pocket the difference in ticket price, if office gave ticket instead of cash, Cebu sales to expat countries would slump.
saying this as a Filipino: typical Asian budget for a typical Asian-sized passengers as target market which maxes out at 170 cm average
Me as an Asian who's in the >170cm range: Am I a joke to u
@@samsstudio6156 ask Cebu Pacific, not me. It is their business platform, not mine 😂😂😂
Medyo justifiable naman yung mga presyo kung ikokonsider mo yung drawbacks with regards to flying this budget airline. Nashook parin ako tho nung binanggit ni Noel yung presyo ng ticket eh ahahaha
To be honest, I don’t think this is a common business model in Asia. I’ve flown airlines from Japan, China, Singapore, and Taiwan, and none of them are like this. All A330’s I’ve flown had 8 seats in a role in economy class. This one has 9 seats.......
speak for yourself. cockroach trash.
This flight makes sense because in the Gulf region most of the service workers are Filipino. This flight makes it possible for them to visit home cheaply.
At first I didn’t think you had much to complain about sitting in an exit row, but then they closed the door! 😂 I could feel your pain watching this video. You can’t go wrong with that price though!
I ran into that on a flight a few years ago, but it was only a couple hours. I know better now, never get an exit row window seat by a door.
Trust me that's what I thought too when I got the door seat oh more leg space.... not Thomas cook frm miami to Manchester
You have a point.
I've heard it's colder by the doors as well. That was a rookie move to get stuck in that seat. Seat Guru or other websites would have told you that.
@@CallieMasters5000 that depends on who gets cold in flight and who's feeling hot cuz sometime theyll have heater on.

But you've just flown Air Transat A310 in a nine abreast configuration,, which you said you enjoyed, and both the A310/A330 aircraft types have the same cabin width!
Until recently UK airlines use to operate similar configurations on long haul routes like Britannia with eight abreast (instead of normal seven abreast) on a 767, and nine abreast on the A330 with Monarch and Thomas Cook, which all use to fly 9-11 hour flights to the US, Mexico and Caribbean.
I think you should fly French Bee's new A350's in a 10 abreast economy configuration from Paris to Tahiti via San Francisco, its only around 20 hours flying time!
The A310 at TS used to have video screens and good service for a leisure airline.
French Bee a350s have 2 more inches of legroom than the cepac a330s, so definitely a bit better still
It was nice that you were honest about your experience. Just like the others here who explained why the configuration was like that, let me remind you that Cebu Pacific is a low cost airline, and that route mainly serves the Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East. Im not saying that you should get crappy service since you paid less, but I hope you learned your lesson. Dont expect too much if you got it at a cheap price.
Cebu pacific is the kind of airline that would put a 4:4 configuration on a 737
Can't. You can't be more than 2 seats away from the aisle ;)

A waste of effort if it was a Max no matter how low the fare no one would be stupid/adventurous enough to board that 737.

Long range or mid - PAL
Hey Noel, next time you fly like this you can use your phone to find your location, GPS positioning still works on airplane safe mode so while it isn’t very accurate it can give you a rough idea where you are!
Sometimes the phone GPS struggles with getting a good lock when you're moving that fast and too far from your last location. Would definitely keep trying though if I had 10 hours to spare lol

Back in 2014 my sisters and I wanted to travel to Las Vegas but back then it was very difficult to find flights from Venezuela to pretty much everywhere else. A friend of my sister who worked in a travel agency found us tickets to Madrid so we took them, but she only could find with Conviasa (the Venezuelan state owned company) and the flights to Madrid were a charter flight with planes and crew from Air Asia X and that flight was an AWFUL 8 hour flight and 9 hours the return flight. The configuration was 3+3+3 with narrow seats like those with no entertainment screens and we also took the emergency seats but we didn't had that problem with the door killing the legroom of the window passenger.
When I see flights like this I’m grateful that we consider Ryanair as bad as it gets

Hi Noel, it’s cramped but not 10 abreast. It’s 9 and less to the rear. Having made several economy qantas 787 flights of 17 hours from Oz to UK, I do sympathise. The worst is an aisle seat when everyone bumps your overhanging shoulder walking past, including the cabin crew at high speed.

Many budget airlines offer better products. So I'd say, the standard is too low.
Took a lot of flights with cebu pacific from Hong Kong to cebu an back. All of them were operated with an A320. They are pretty cramped but not really much worse than any low cost carrier in Europe. I usually paid for the emergency row and it's fine. One flight I made in this A330 from Manila to Hong Kong and it was OK as well. In general I would say cebu pacific is a good low cost airline. The planes are in a very condition and pretty new. Better than any flight with an 15 year old Boeing with broken seats on delta
You know it's a budget airline when the cabin crew wear jeans.
I can't believe how cheap that flight was! Amazing
Thats’ why they called themselves budget airlines
I flew 7h from Sydney to Manila on Cebu Pacific and loved it - especially the civilised daytime schedule. I knew that like flying Air Asia you just bring your own fun (ipad) and pre-book whatever you can. I am 6 ft and found the slimline seat perfectly good legroom and had a spare seat beside me (perhaps I was lucky). The best part was I only spent $200AUD and that included an onward connection to Boracay!

The comment is kinda off for me. My father used to work in Saudi Arabia for 25 years. And he tried everything to save up to provide a better life for our family and extended family. He had never flown cebu pacific because it was not that available even before he retired way back 2015, should it be, i would have asked him to fly in it instead so we could share more to others. Btw he always flew Emirates and Saudia. Laughing at something you find below "your standard"but means more to others. And we thank Cebu Pacific for their "cheap service" because they help OFWs to go home and be with their loved ones after years of being away just to make ends meet for their family. Regardless of how cruel and bad you think it is, but we are resilient and always look on a good side, to be with the people we love. :)
Fly them. Now. The marginal cost of an extra, say, £100 is the answer. The flight is mainly for labourers and paid for by employers for annual leave. Airlines have a massive market in this area. It is a bus for people to get to work at rush hour.....its just a longer trip....of 10 hours.
Well, what do you expect? This airline is the cheapest here in the Philippines.
Edgeofreason somewhat true, the only good airline is Philippine airlines (if it’s international) besides that fly air Asia
May I ask what were you expecting for a LCC that’s usually much cheaper than Ryanair? The market they target is normally for the expats or domestic helpers returning to PH or to the Middle East. Although you were unlucky with the seat booking, I would have moved seats and just claimed a refund for the seat selection afterwards. Unless the booking wasn’t really for an extra leg seat.
Cebu Pacific are a great airline for getting you to A-B. The best thing I like is you can take your own snacks on board, unlike some other LCC around Asia. Unless this has changed.
Your wife is hilarious, the shirt😂😂 Looking forward to another video with her! Always love your reviews, great job again!

Couldn’t you check google maps to see where you were? I may be wrong but I am pretty sure it works offline using GPS?
Anyway great video, I’ve flown Cebu Pacific before but only on a measly 3 hour flight on one of their A320s
Thomas Richardson GPS in an airplane? Nope.
William Eby GPS still works on planes. Airplane mode does not disable GPS.
You can. I used the GPS on my phone while flying in the middle of the Pacific, and it still worked fine.
It's very hit or miss if you can get a phone to lock onto gps. It needs to detect a number of satellites to pinpoint it's location. Can be hard pointing your phone at the window to get it working. I have about a 20% success rate.
He does not want things like that he just likes to dramatise things yes of course he could of. I’d did plenty of charter flights to Florida years that were similar it’s no big deal.
Being we live in the Philippines we use this plane often. The one configuration "bus". A little tip for travelers using this Cebu Pacific A330. When an agent offers you the front of the plane for an additional 500P or so? Turn it down because you will be the absolute last passengers to deplane on arrival.

And the Miami mainline crews are bottom of the heap.
ESPECIALLY if it's a CRJ.
it's a budget airline, so we don't expect much. we get what we paid for
“On the torture machine” lmao
I'm surprised they don't have standing in the aisles 😂😂
I can survive being in the small seat, but i don't think it would cost CEB too much if they could install some lcd screens with a navigation map and maybe some inflight entertainment on each seat, or at least on the isle... They just have a handful of these A330neos, it's not a big expense and it would improve passenger experience greatly.
I'd be so mad suffering in that tight seat for 10 hours
The solution for extra legroom would be to book two seats next to each other. That would still leave it a cheap flight, but with a bit more comfort.
you must have upset your wife to have booked you on that flight she got her own back
1. It was very cheap
2. Take your own entertainment on board

6. After the flight seek asylum saying you have been abused and tortured
Are you not aware that it is a budget airline? Hahaha! Next time, fly with Emirates. 😂
I flew quite a couple of times with Cebu Pacific, both domestic and international flights and all the planes are the same. But if you compare it to any other European carrier that flies the A330 is exactly the same. I flew Iberia, Air Europa... even Qatar Airways and it was the same.
