    I decided to pick up a pioneer 520 this summer from Tayside. Particularly enjoyed your content on it. I took it on a 180km group ride the weekend after i got it, it's the slowest thing on the trails but it is still enjoyable. Working the tree farm this holiday season, its narrowness and tight turnaround compared to wider and longer models was a huge win

    I picked up a new 24 Teryx4 s se Saturday for $14k. Felt like it was a pretty good deal for a rock solid 4 seat sxs for trails and family.

    I bought a 2003 Subaru Sambar dump truck with under 20,000km and it is ten times better than any side by side. Hauls and dumps 1500 lbs. with heating and air conditioning. Paid $14,500 plus GST.

    We had a '19 Viking 3 seater we paid $13k+tax CAD for in '19, with Yamaha discounts. 4 kids now, sold that one, have a '24 Viking VI now we paid $18.1k CAD+ tax. Very pleased with the Viking series. Get's everything we need done, assuming it fits. The VI needs a 2" lift for sure.

    Great video - you forgot two utility units tho - John Deere Gator and Cushman Hauler, both only 2wd, but prices are pretty good. My pick was the Hauler (comes with roof and windshield) we just run around the yard, dont really need 4wd, but the wife wanted the Honda pioneer 520. We got the camo version.

    I spoke to a high-level executive of a major vehicle retailer years ago that happens to be the father of a good friend of mine. I asked him why they charge so much more in Canada than in the US. I completely expected him to try to dismiss the question and simply blame the exchange rate. He didn't. He was quite frank, and without missing a beat, he said, "Simple. Canadians are willing to pay more. The exchange rate is basically irrelevant. Canadians aren't as cost conscious as Americans." It's price gouging, yes, but blame your average Canadian consumer for being willing to put up with it.

      @tkpowersports  8 дней назад +5

      Appreciate this insight. We know it has nothing to do with exchange, but most folks don't understand this (based on RUclips comments anyways!).
      Canadians are just willing to spend more, therefore we pay more. Just capitalism.

    Can we get a video on the slowest depreciating models? Not only are sxs expensive but they also are built to be abused and in a market that is young/quickly evolving making a 10 year old sxs seem archaic. What’s the best used model to buy? Is there such a thing?

      We currently have a 2014 Kawasaki Teryx 2 seater. It’s been a very good machine. It’s an LE model that was owned by an older couple and was basically their ride around the farm and to the mailbox machine. It was 5 years old when I bought it and had 275 miles on it. I was going to buy a Wolverine, but when I saw the Teryx that was as super clean I saved about 5K. If buying used, stay away from units owned by young people, and units that show evidence of mudding. Stay away from units with a bunch wiring for stereos and snorkels.

    I have owned the Viking for 7 Years and almost 10,000kms. Very hard km's hauling wood and dirt. Best deal for reliability, 3 seater and big bed. Awesome utility machine, not the best fun riding.

    How do yall even get by in Canada with the costs on homes and everything being so high

    • @classicxl
      @classicxl 8 дней назад

      Most of us are only barely getting by , it’s pay check to pay check for myself and a lot of others . I got lucky and bought my house in 2008 for $229k , now worth somewhere around 700k . The younger generation can’t afford to buy anything, only the rich east indians coming over are buying million dollar homes. Or buying up houses for rental properties, trudeau has totally screwed up this country. A yamaha Grizzly 700 eps is almost 14k and top of the line is almost 16k . it’s ridiculous

    i would be very weary of buying the pioneer without a warranty. My father and my local landscaping company has had broken transmissions and stuck beds form these machines. this is more common than you think. also the heat from the cab while working in the summer is almost not usable. highly recommend a mule over this machine.

    I paid $3800 out the door for a Challenger 200 by Trailmaster, a Chinese made little buggy and I love it. We use it on our horse farm, holds two people with a top speed of 38 mph. Now that’s a budget sxs. I hate China but it was that or nothing. The prices on this video aren’t out the door so the added cost just for fees would probably equal what I paid for mine. Love the channel though, just out of my league for pricing.

    Not Really an Honest comparison of apples to apples. Yamaha does not make a mini or midsize SXS . Why no appreciation for the yamaha Viking not even 30 seconds . Its probably the best value for dollar of any of the Full size UTV,s . Power steering , roof top, real front locker , proper full size seating . high low transfercase , 10 year belt warrenty , full metal skidplate . and proven bullet proof drive train .all come standard . i dont get it i expected better ?
