Dude this was AMAZING! I watched the DJI tutorial, was confused as hell, watched this and now I am slaying gimble shots like Stephen Curry nails 3s 🔥🔥🔥
Best Ronin S tutorial. I've tried others for my Panasonic GH5, but this is the one that really helped. Here's a little tip for others that might help: I use a pencil to mark the slide on both sides of the gimbal motor, so you don't have to remember the settings. Slide everything into position and make minor adjustments if necessary. It's visible and you can always erase it if you need to.
Thank you! Awesome video. I balanced mine perfectly first try while following along. A couple things I did realize. Make sure you take your lens cap off and have all of your sd cards in the camera before balancing and micro adjustments is an understatement watch those mm markers while making adjustments, a couple times I was moving less than 1 mm and did not feel it adjusting. Thank you again!
Hey man, you were the same guy I watched when I was learning Glider (steady cam) few months back, I was a beast on that thing, But found limitation for power shot so I bought the DJI RONIN S, Can't believed I am so lucky that you are still the same person who taught me back then, Cheers man and thank you very much, business is running good these days man, and I thank you for that.
This video is amazing, exactly what I needed to help balance my new Ronin-S. Thank you! The Ronin 2 minute video was fairly useless for me as an amateur with no previous gimbal experience, but this was well paced and extremely knowledgeable. Thanks!
Great job, Josh. This is the best video on balancing the DJI Ronin S I've seen so far. Personally, I align the quick release plate based on the lens I'm using. Which in the case of when I use the GH5 with the Panasonic-Leica 12mm-60mm, means I'll have the plate attached further back in order to accommodate the lens support mount which reduces any vibration of the lens while shooting. At 2:03, that is almost exactly where I attach my plate with the 12mm-60mm lens. Thanks for your service to the community.
Thank you so much for this vid! It was so hard to find how to use the gimble FROM THE VERY START - everyone just shows how to film with it. Really helpful video!
Well done!!! This is much better than the tutorial on DJI's website which is almost useless as they run through it. I'm still getting the YAW:Bad but I think this is a bug in either firmware or software. Testing on Sony A7III with Sigma A 85mm 1.4.
When running the balance test though the app - you need to have the gimbal slightly tilted! Otherwise your readings in the app will be off. This is also specified within the app!
Momentum Productions one thing that might be worth adding is make sure you attach the cable and take your lens cap off as that changes the balance as i found out👍
Great vid. Reduced a lot of stress. Had a massive issue getting pan balance to read as excellent. Turns out it was a firmware issue - might be worth including for people who are balancing right out of the box. Obvious and should have caught it but lead to a lot of cursing hahahahaha!
Hey man, thanks for your ronin S tutorial they were super helpful to me! However it's been almost a month I have my Ronin s and I keep getting the same issue: my pan looks physically balanced but then the test will always tell me to re-balance. Do you or anyone know what could cause that?
Thanks so very much definitely a good video Im subscribing and liking. One little push at a time is absolutely correct. MICRO-ADJUSTMENTS using both hands. Thanks again.
im having a real hard time balancing YAW :/ 6:22 when i do the app balance test it says its bad but i feel like vive balanced it to the best of my abilities im using canon 80d with the regular lens
Hey Josh, thanks for a great video! I just purchased a Ronin-S to use with my A7SIII and you made the balancing much easier to understand! I'm curious, are you able to control your camera with the DJI app? I just learned it's not compatible with the A7SIII.
Hi Josh , I have watched this video several times while I was balancing my Ronin. Viewing your actions made it easy to balance the setup. Now I wanted to place a microphone on top of the camera, but I can't get the gimbal balanced anymore. Do you have a good tip for this ?
Momentum Productions. Great! Once I see your comparison video that the only time I’ll buy a gimbal.. coz to be honest all reviews that I’ve watched about ronin s are not good and mostly biased
I see that the cage you are using adds weight which makes the gymbal more perfectly balabced - without a cage, the a7s with this lens is too light for the tilt adjustments - would the ronin sc be better for this camera?
after i do the balance test and the motor power auto tune everything is still very loose and the motion footage very shaky. I've tried boosting the motor power and it helps a little but no where as smooth as the osmo pro with x5 camera.
Thanks for the tutorial! Everytime I do a "Balance Test" it always gives me "Good" for the Pan configuration... Even when my pan set up is correct... Can you help? All other axis is "Excellent"
Thanks for video. After i set up my ronin-s with my canon 5d mark iii it shakes and loses its balance soon after i start moving. do you happen to know how to fix this?
Great tutorial! Everything was going so smooth until I was trying to balance the Pan! My camera did a cartwheel!! The motors are going to have to deal with that!! -__-
Momentum Productions ... ok, very cool! Do you offset the mic to the left, or will the Ronin allow for it to be centered? Also, is the cage for protection, or to be able to have more diversity with accessories? Appreciate you man!!
whenever i try to adjust the pan axis it completely messes up everything i did before. i can t lie i m losing full. This must be most frustrating couple of hundred bucks i ve spent in my entire life
Literally the best balance setup for Ronin S that I have seen, literally easy to follow, clear and concise.
Glad you think so!
Dude this was AMAZING! I watched the DJI tutorial, was confused as hell, watched this and now I am slaying gimble shots like Stephen Curry nails 3s 🔥🔥🔥
Hahah, I'm so glad to hear this bro! Keep slaying :)

Thank you so much for your support over the years! Enjoy the Ronin-M! It's a great gimbal :)
you deserve more views... Probably the best video on setup here on YT
Thank you so much
Thanks man. Your way of balancing the pan is a lot better than what DJI suggests. Really helped me. Also time to clean your lens bro.
This video is amazing, exactly what I needed to help balance my new Ronin-S. Thank you! The Ronin 2 minute video was fairly useless for me as an amateur with no previous gimbal experience, but this was well paced and extremely knowledgeable. Thanks!

My man! Thank you so much for your support :)
Micro Adjustments is very very important people, thank you for the video and help 🙏🏼
Thanks for this! I’ve been struggling with the pan balance, and you explain it very clearly!
Glad to hear it :)
After you've practiced with this a little and developed muscle memory, it becomes second nature. Like riding a bike. Thanks for the tutorial.
Great tutorial. The official one is too quick, this explains things better. Thanks
Thank you everytime I forget I watch this video thanks again !!!!
You are incredibly helpful dude for real you speak with detail and calmness ty bro
thank you, amazing easy to follow video.
Thank you so much for this vid! It was so hard to find how to use the gimble FROM THE VERY START - everyone just shows how to film with it. Really helpful video!

Thanks so much for your kind comment bro! :)
Now I need one for portrait!!!
Love it. Have been using it often for a month . So far so good.

Hey Yapo, thank you for your kind comment. How are you balancing your yaw? Those micro adjustments can be tricky at times!
By far the best video I've seen on this. I was struggling until I found you man, thanks so much. Liked and subscribed!
Thank you so much! :)

This tutorial was better than the actual dji tutorial (which pas pants BTW) Thank you.
awesome video, much better then the tutorial dji provided in the app! :) thanks!
Well done with this detailed tutorial. Made the ronin so much easier for me to balance for the first time 👌
I'm glad it helped :)
Thank you for this. You have explained it really well. Especially the step by step guide. Well done
Glad it was helpful!
Beautifully explained. Thanks so much!

best setup video there is. I watched several until your video showed me what I did wrong. thanks
Best video for balancing your gimbal. Excellent work made my life easier :)
Thank you so much Barry!
Momentum Productions one thing that might be worth adding is make sure you attach the cable and take your lens cap off as that changes the balance as i found out👍
Great Video! Explained the small details too!
thank you for this tutorial! makes much more sense than DJI official one...
good job
Don't you think the gimble manufacturers should still come out with easy ways to skip these painful procedures 😐😐
You can adjust the roll axis more easily by lifting the bottom of the camera.
thank you josh, this was helpful :)
No problem!
Best tutorial video online! Thank you.
Thanks man. This video saved my shoot.
The tutorial DJI should have had, thank you so much!!
They should hahah! Thanks man!
Great video ...now I feel confident in buying this product !
Thank you for this detailed and helpful tutorial.
Of course! Thank you for watching :)
Great vid. Reduced a lot of stress. Had a massive issue getting pan balance to read as excellent. Turns out it was a firmware issue - might be worth including for people who are balancing right out of the box. Obvious and should have caught it but lead to a lot of cursing hahahahaha!
Great video man! Thanks for the help!
Of course! Thank you for watching :)
God bless you sir !!
Hi josh, I did everything as shown in the video. YAW - bad, Roll and Pitch Excellent. Tried many times but does not matter. gh5s + 8-18mm
What issues are you having?
Hey man, thanks for your ronin S tutorial they were super helpful to me! However it's been almost a month I have my Ronin s and I keep getting the same issue: my pan looks physically balanced but then the test will always tell me to re-balance. Do you or anyone know what could cause that?
Same problem here, I hope Josh or anyone else would explain!
I have the same issue.... just starts shaking
Thanks so very much definitely a good video Im subscribing and liking. One little push at a time is absolutely correct. MICRO-ADJUSTMENTS using both hands. Thanks again.
Great job
Awesome job
Thanks so much!
NICE TUtorials
Thank you!
sweet!
The balance test should be done with 15° tilt as per DJI document! Or is it not needed?
im having a real hard time balancing YAW :/ 6:22 when i do the app balance test it says its bad but i feel like vive balanced it to the best of my abilities im using canon 80d with the regular lens
Thank you this was sooooo helpful 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks mate for this!

Amazing Video!

Hi! Been waiting for the comparison video between ronin s and crane 2
It's coming soon!!!
Momentum Productions. Great! Once I see your comparison video that the only time I’ll buy a gimbal.. coz to be honest all reviews that I’ve watched about ronin s are not good and mostly biased

Thanks for the help, do you know how to unlink a gimbal from previous owner without their password to connect to app?
Thanks brother! Much appreciated!
Best vid on how to setup the Ronin. Thanks my dude!
nice video, do you have a video for the crane 2? Your videos are the best and so well explain!
Sorry about my bad english, i speak spanish.
you are the greatest
Awww thanks man!
Thanks!
Thanks heaps!
Any suggestions for the most efficient quick release system with the ronin s for quickly switching to different setups(tripods, gimbals, etc)
Here's a good one: amzn.to/2FgclOj

Why would we like and subscribe BEFORE we watch the video?
Asking for a friend.
Yes.
Excellent tutorial, I liked and subscribed. Thank you.
Hi, I use nikon z6 + adapter + 14-24mm (heavy lens). I will use it 90% of the time at 14mm. Should I balance it at 14mm or at 19mm (in the middle)?
Fast forward to 2:50 for those in a rush
I have a Ronin rs3 and im wanting to film with a more hand held look so I can make fast movements. What would the best settings for that?
My gimbal starts to vibrate heavily when I turn it on, even though the camera seems to be balanced on it? I'm using a Sony a7R with a 50mm lens
after i do the balance test and the motor power auto tune everything is still very loose and the motion footage very shaky. I've tried boosting the motor power and it helps a little but no where as smooth as the osmo pro with x5 camera.
i broke one a day after i got it, my replacement just came an hour ago
Hey Josh thank you for the great tutorial, which ND filter do you use for the 16-35?
Love!
Thanks for the tutorial! Everytime I do a "Balance Test" it always gives me "Good" for the Pan configuration... Even when my pan set up is correct... Can you help? All other axis is "Excellent"
mine never wants to stay pointing up. You have a great video though! Still trying to get this thing figured out.
Have you figured it out yet? I got the same issue
Great ❤️
Can anyone else not get it to stay straight up, I have tried every setting and it wont balance
Love this video bro!! Any thoughts or suggestions on set up with a Rode Mic Pro?
Thanks man! I actually use a camera cage and mount a mic that way!
Momentum Productions ... ok, very cool! Do you offset the mic to the left, or will the Ronin allow for it to be centered? Also, is the cage for protection, or to be able to have more diversity with accessories? Appreciate you man!!
THANK YOU
Excelente ejemplo, gracias
What is that which is Cover your Camera. What does it call..?
Where can I get another screw for the doc plate?
My camera doesn’t stay pointing up when I do the roll access. What do I do?!
Have you figured it out yet? I got the same issue
whenever i try to adjust the pan axis it completely messes up everything i did before. i can t lie i m losing full. This must be most frustrating couple of hundred bucks i ve spent in my entire life
