    @ 5:49 - "Some people like this switch because it's easier to operate with your pinky"
    That is one of the daftest, most ridiculous things I have ever heard.
    I have never in my life had the need to operate a flashlight with my little finger.

    • @weez82
      @weez82 10 лет назад +1

      Maybe you dont have lights with side switches? Reverse grip would place the pinky on that switch. The kid did a damn fine job of showing why that switch is easy on the pinky.

      I have, try using the fenix pd-35 upside down. The switch is right by my pinkie.

    This guy was a little corporate/ hip hop, and read the specs more from a sheet/ memory rather then from love of gear, but he did a good job overall for a run of the mill salesman. Next week, he'll be selling oldsmobiles,... after that, he'll be selling that MIR spacecraft the russians had on a small town used car lot.

    Does Fenix offer a tail stand add on for the PD35 Tac ?

    Do you really get all those lumens out of the PD22 UE with a cr123 or is that with the 61340 battery?

    Okay shot show 2015 is officially bad for the bank account in the near future. There are two more things I want to add to my collection the CL25R by the looks of it and an Olight M2X-UT. Haven't really seen any compact throwers or camping light type things that tick all the boxes of being practical, compact and decent enough runtime to truly interest me.
    I wouldn't really be using the camping light much in a camping setting, but it seems ideal as general area lighting when working around the house after dark or as an emergency light source when the power is out. A tailstanding regular torch would do too in a room with a roof but there's something to be said for a product that is designed for the task.

    Thanks for making a great new products video. These types of videos really help me determine what new products I should look into (PD22UE). While seeing some things (LD75) that are amazing but which I will never buy.

    He said you can charge that extra big battery in the same charger as your 18650 does that seem right?
    It looks huge it doesn't look like it would fit in any of mine

    • @bulletchoas
      @bulletchoas 9 лет назад

      26650s are just bigger around than 18650s I believe the nameing goes by the first two numbers being the diameter the second two being the length and the last one being the shape.

      While its by far preferable to use a charger that can take them, pretty sure my Xtar VP2 charger which is my current go to charger fits them.
      But if you really have to improvise you could always connect some kind of alligator clip or whatever to your charger + and - which you then connect to your battery preferably in some kind of properly sized holder. I'd be more likely to use my Agilent lab powersupply with a limit set to 4.2V and 1.0A if my primary charger doesn't support one, along with a PC controlled process that reads the battery temperature with a thermocouple and if that exceeds a limit I set to shut the charging process down and notify me by email. But most people don't have such a luxery :)
      Keep in mind that if you use it outside your charger any standard temperature based safeties that detect your battery temperature and stop the process if they become too hot won't be operational. Also don't use wires that are too thin for the currents you're using (shouldn't be too bad though really, but thicker is always better) and obviously as always observe polarity when improvising such a solution.
      I wouldn't suggest to do this unless you really know what you're doing and even then probably best only as a stopgap solution until a proper charger arrives or can be purchased.

      TribunusLaticlavus Speaking of XTAR, they have a new 26650 light as well. D26 "The Whale". I'm hoping they'll send me one so I can do a review on it.

      Syrbuff Interesting item, not really in the diving market myself but looks like an okay product based on what the info page says. Can't say much about the mode spacing due to not knowing how light requirements are underwater from personal experience. Nice of them to provide a tiny spacer allowing you to use regular 18650 batteries too.
      Just about the only torch I might want to get in the near future is the m2x-ut javelot from olight at the moment. It'd complete my collection with an affordable compact thrower, my zebralight sc62w or sc62d depending on which I decide to use for that day is what does all the rest really. Got them both on a stand next to the bed and they stay with me during the whole day.
      In the past I've used a variety of AA and AAA based items, still got some for nostalgia reasons but most of them I've sold or given away over time. The only other one that sees any noteworthy regular use is my zebralight headlamp, I wish I had discovered these earlier in life. It sure as hell would've saved me money in the long run while delivering a superior product.
