non-polluting is just straight up false. but i wish everyone else had electric cars so i don't have to hear fucking loud engines passing by streets every day. my city has almost fully eliminated unnecessary light pollution with better, downwards-focused led public illumination to the point i can do some basic stargazing from the center of a 1 million pop city. i can't wait till they do that for noise too.

Why can't carwow ever get typical Plaid times (both S and X)? EDIT: and now I know. If the car was at 40% in that the 1/2 roll race, it was probably 50% in the first 1/4 mile. Each 1/4 sucks about 2% out of the battery.
The degradation in power as a Tesla battery drops from 100% to 0% depends on several factors, such as the model, software settings, and driving conditions. Typically, Teslas maintain their full power output until the battery drops to a lower state of charge (around 20%), after which performance and power output are slightly reduced to preserve battery health and range. I am a huge Tesla fan! Love you Carwow!
On my "peasant" non-plaid X 100D, top performance is between 20~90%. Above 90% performance is reduced a bit and regen is disabled to save the battery. Below 20% acceleration is less punchy and below 10% you notice lower performance across the line. At 5% it becomes slow but still enough to participate in normal traffic. Real limp mode happens at around 2%.

Thanks, it’s running great now, still more testing to be done to make sure but it’s in a great place. I can confirm it’s slower than the 720s once you are over 150mph as the 720s had wider gears taking it to the higher vmax, but it’s also worth noting early 720s were questionably well over powered until around 2020 when McLaren seemed to bring the cars more inline with the name 720s, my 2020 720 was fast but not as fast as a few circa 2018 720s I did runs against, my 750s is quicker than my 720s ever was so for this reason that’s why I believe you see some early 720s doing times that simply seem faster than the 750s. My 750s had better 1/4mile times than the 296gtb filmed in January, at this level it’s the driver reaction that makes the difference and Mat is a master of the carwow 1/4 mile.
@tro3y yea i agree the 750s would've faired well against the 296gts as it did against the gtb where the 750s (it's a spider right??? @ my 750 ran consistently across three 1/4 miles on my draggy that was attached to the car, against the revuelto it got consistently slower from 10.2 to 10.7 on the last of five runs done for that video hence why we knew it was broken. The driver reactions really are the edge in races where the cars are a close match.

It’s proven by many on RUclips that the Plaid set up looses its full power once the car goes under 20%SOC. Dragtimes did a 100%SOC down to 20%SOC and the difference was 0.6 seconds which can translate to anything from grip to tire pressure.
I wasn’t keen on the 296 when it first came out, but seeing it with the stupid light blue moustache paint job, I’m realising it’s quite a pretty car. And bloody fast!
I'm right there with you. I thought it looked horrendous when I first saw it, that damn moustache somehow *literally* distracted me from the car's actual body lines. It looks great in solid colors, or with a really subtle livery that just puts small accents around some of the body lines. Even a simple, classic Ferrari stripe looks great on it. It is definitely a pretty car. Nowhere near as aggressive looking as a 458 or 488, etc., but it has the elegance. It is definitely a less "angry" look, though. There's something just a bit softer about it, but it's not a bad thing.
The Tesla just doesn't belong there.

Glad that 750s spider is fixed, knew it was underperforming considering it was loosing to 720s
