Shortly after a breakup, I stumbled upon this one quote:
"Just because somebody doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have."
After a lot of reflecting, I realized things would've been a LOT better had we understood each other's love languages. I like to express my love through acts of service and I feel the most loved through physical touch. Her love language was words of affirmation.
All she had to do was touch my butt more. Sigh.
awww and that last part made me LOL. But it's so true - I'm so glad I stumbled on this concept cause it's a game changer

My mom and sister get into so many fights because they have different languages of love. My sister wants words of affirmation but my mom wants to "toughen her up" and doesn't want her to be a people pleaser, so she's always insulting my sister. My moms language is actions of service, so since my sister hates being home because they always fight and also my sister is a slob, it infuriates my mom because my sister does not help her out in daily tasks.
I think one is quality time, especially since I have social anxiety. When people want to spend time with me, and go out of there way to do so, it means a lot. It hurts when people don't respond to my texts because I take it as a sign they don't want to spend time with me. Also, I like spending time with my family when they are not fighting and it breaks my heart when they fight. In an age where everyone is busy and overscheduled, quality time means a lot

I first listened the book as an audio then I read it. Now I watch the videos and take the quizzes. Ha ha! Such an awesome book!
My priority language is “Quality Time” then “Physical Affection” and afterwards “Acts of Service”. I could care less about getting gifts but words of affirmations are kind of nice.☺️

I'm definitely a words of affirmation type, having someone say that they love my art or writing or project, or to hear someone say that it made them feel happy or excited or loved or even just to hear that someone has really taken the time to notice... it just makes me so so happy. My mother in law gave me this book and I hesitated reading it because it sounds so cheesy (and just take a look at the cover--how dorky!) But I was stuck on vacation with nothing else to read so I reluctantly gave it a try. In a nutshell, this book has changed my life. Page after page I found myself wanting to yell, "yes! my language is receiving gift and Acts of Service.
i wonder how a couple with same language acts of service will work out, because they both hate when someone making more work for her / him.
lets say i hate washing dishes, he hate them too. we both expecting each other to offer for a help with things they don't like. when the boy/girl help, then there will be more work for her/him then her/him will not feel loved?
is this kind of couple will not work out?

I know this came out awhile ago but I found it through BlueFever I feel like my love language is Words of Affirmation and my ex’s language was Physical Touch. He was always wanting to touch me some how whether my hand holding, linking legs, hugging, sitting super close to me, pulling me into his side, or kissing. I feel like had I known this while we were still together I would’ve been less aggravated acting towards him at times.
I think mine are physical touch and quality time.

This is really interesting. My least important language of love is physical touch but that is my husband's most important... Words of affirmation is mine and I think also quality time... I'm not sure which is more important to me

If i have to some these up
For me its physical touch
Then quality time or the way around and then the other three are equal actually after that complementing, acts of service, presents 🎁 . Alltho you need them all to have an healty relationship and problems on the way with trauma’s towards one or more of these can be fixed before you go in a relationship or while by discussing it together. So communication is so important i think that belongs with quality time and if there is a problem around that yea i guess and know that solvable.
I think its really handy to do it for yourself that you know where you stand rn, life can be hard if you don’t know where you stand.
