Good vid, nice to see all of this information in one place rather than having to dig through forum posts to see the different options. Also, I have that same S4 print in my office, I love it!
Yeah it’s a brilliant print isn’t it, love having pics and things like that to look at, also great for inspiration. That was the aim to make a one video covers all, specially with the details people have added in these comments 👌🏻
Great video, I ended up going the b9 s4 6 piston calipers with c7 a6 front rotors (354mm) simply Bc I managed to source some locally for under 600usd and a set of new rotors for also 90 usd.
These are also a great option and ended up going this route Bc my left stock caliper actually seized. my car is stage 2+ but a daily driver as well so this serves as a nice middle ground as they still fit my stock 18 (very tightly) and 19 wheel setup
This is a great informational video!! Need more videos like these. Gives enthusiasts great POV of options! Thanks again!!!
Cre8tiveGarage thanks for watching, appreciate the comment :). Plenty more to come in the future
hey man, nice video. do you reckon i should change brake actuator as well? i mean the pump for brake fluid? i have an A5
Nice video mate. The a6/a7 356mm caliper upgrade part numbers are 4g05ap and 4g06ap. The 4g0615123/4 are the single piston ones for smaller discs.
ian_S4 thanks for the info Ian, nice one for adding the part numbers
Out of intrest what disks would you use on a4b8.5 to accommodate the a6/7 disk ? Im assuming a standerd a6/7 356mm of the same year will work also what about carrier's for this caliper for the a4? Im heussing standers s4 ones ?
Or would a6/7 ones fit a4
Great video. Thanks
sweet vlog
For the donor cars, like the A7, SQ5 etc, which generations/years will fit? I have a 2011 A4 Avant and I’m trying to figure out which years to source from. Thanks!
I remember the sq5 having 6 pot calipers.
XYZ has 8 pot upgrades also for the a/s/rs5
I love the way how you speak on point. Thanks for this video!
Thanks appreciate the kind words
@@TheParrottBros do the rs4 callipers fit the s4
@@damienharvey6285 yes they do and if I’m not wrong they will fit under the stock 18’s too. If you search online I found a thread on srs ages ago showing this
@@TheParrottBros perfect thank you
Great video... thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks
Have you heard anything about the Porsche/VW Touareg 345mm 6 piston brembo calipers? You think they would bolt right up to the B8 S4/S5?
I have some 2017 Audi A5 Sline set of calipers and disks. My aim is to put them on to a A6 C6 avant. One of the areas I am struggling with is the brake hoses. Best ones to use etc. Could you help?
Great video very informative. I am upgrading my 2012 A5 to SQ5 or A8 calipers and 380mm discs. Just to share some info you can run a 19" wheel with the 380mm disc. I found cross drilled and coated rotors w/ sport pads for $160.00 USD from performance braking in Van Nuys, California. Thought you might like to know. Of course shipping might be expensive but not as much as 400BPS.
Cheers!
Brilliant thanks for the details Chris appreciate the update 👌🏻
Chris, I live close to this place in van nuys. Can you share the tel# and address? Thanks.
I have Brembo ZR18 from Q7, 6 pot calipers...
Will they fit to A4 B8 3.0 TDI Quattro?
A4 have 320mm stock disc, but option disc in shop is 345x29 5X112.
Blinding video, great information
Thanks buddy
Looking for some help, bought an a4 b8 3.0 tdi, which came with an b8 rs4 brake conversion front and rear with wavy discs. The discs have been shimmed out with a spacer between the hub and disc centres, and the centre bore seems slightly larger on the disc than hub. Anyone know why this would be? Thought they would be a direct fit.
Will any Sq5 calipers (2013-2017) fit S5 or does it have to be them part numbers
Do you know any small break kits I’m looking to run 15-16 in rims
Hi Great video and info! I'm new to the S4's but was wondering why you haven't listed the B9 6pot calliper as an option? 356mm discs I believe? Thanks
David
Mainly because they are not easily come by and are not cheap to buy new. You may be able to get them now they have been on the road for a while. But at the time of making the video they were not really an option :)
B9 S4 6 Pot calipers and an A6 356mm disc fit with a 12.7mm spacer between the caliper bracket and the caliper and some massaging of the hub with a die grinder.
Can you please explain why the spacer is needed?
@@remi1104 the spacer sits the caliper far enough out from the hub to accommodate the bigger disk.
Subscribed brother 🤙🏻 Just bought a 2011 S4 DSG yew!
They are wicked cars, what colour did you get?
The Parrott Bro’s got a white one. I think it’s Ibis White.
Have you seen the 6-pot caliper upgrade from a Porsche Macan? so the bigger discs, hubs, and everything. There is a post online I found with all the details online. It's expensive, you looking at about a grand for all the little bits and bobs, disc, pads, lines, ball joints, heat shields...... and that's before you get a pair of calipers. They look amazing but expensive. It also only goes from a 345mm disc to a 350mm one.
When making the video I looked at straight bolt on options as most don’t want to be the one to try a new option as can easily run into issues. The next upgrade from the macan 4 pots would be the Rs4/5 Big Brake’s and straight swap. I’ve not seen that 6 pot option but will have a little look as always interested into what others do.
Any idea if this also applies to the Passat as they share platforms?
I’m glad I stumbled on this video as I’d like to upgrade the brakes (for aesthetic reasons) on my 2011 2.0TFSi Dynamik. I’ve been researching the Q7 Akebono calipers which seem to require a spacer to clear the disc. I don’t like the shape of the Macan calipers (yes I know - sounds daft) and the RS4 ones are killed by the price of the discs and pads.
Im currently doing my 2009 b8 a4 quattro front brake upgrade. 2017 a4 b9 4 pot calipers with 2017 brake hoses.. Regular 09 rotors
Awesome, thanks for the details hopefully that will help others in the future, how did it work out cost wise to do
@@TheParrottBros update riding 18 's you need 5 mm or more wheel spacer and also extended bolts. preferably stud conversion.. Calipers was $75 a piece US
Great video, Some more really good information 👍
What model/year Q5 for the calipers?
Robi Cho 2011 - 2017. If you look in the description to this video there is the part numbers needed to find them online. Thanks for your comment and watching :)
Q5 calipers Ate or Brembo both straight in on an B8?
You wouldn't know if these (8R0615106BN / 8R0615105BN) Q5 brake calipers would fit on the audi a5 3.0tdi brake carrier/discs, apparently they fit 320mm x 30mm discs which are pretty much the same size believe they are 320mm x 28mm on the a5? Thanks
Hey buddy, unless someone has already tried it couldn’t be 100%. But usually cars of a similar age and platform will fit fine
Can you do a video on R8 rear brake conversion ?
Hi - good vid, but a question: you mention the part numbers for the Q5 CALIPERS (8R0615107E 8R0615108E), but these are the non monoblock versions for the Q5's - the later versions of the calipers are for example: 80A615106AB which are better monoblock calipers - are these the same mounts as the ones you mention do you know as they will be better?
Col. Sir Buffy Horsetrouser good evening, I’ve not done any research Into the later model q5 stuff, at a quick glance they are a bigger Caliper / disc set up from what I can see. The part numbers provided in the video are for the q5 equivalent of the Porsche Calipers. I’m sure if you jump on the forum there may be some more information on this, I will try and look into this in the future
@@TheParrottBros ok that's cool.
Great video! I have an 2013 a7 I have seen that 17z calipers fit on s5, do you know if they would work on my a7? Thanks
Hey, I couldn't tell you I'm afraid as I've not ever tried or had any experience with that model of platform
Hi mate
I recently upgraded my discs and pads on my S4 B8 Avant. Discs are VBT and pads EBC yellow stuff. Kept the S4 stock caliper. But after watching this want the calipers. If I buy the Porsche ones you when can I use my EBC pads I just bought or do I have to change them? They are 2 weeks old.
I wanted the calipers red but seems the ones you have are black? The discs are 345mm I believe so was hoping to kee the pads as they weren’t cheap?
Unfortunately pads are completely different shape im afraid, if your happy with how your brakes are i wouldn't bother changing or wait until you've got your money's worth out of them
I heard that the Macan/Q5 4pot calipers will also work on my 2015 Q3 is that correct?
I couldn’t answer that I’m afraid but maybe someone else can
What would you say was the best/economical upgrade for a stage 2 s4 avant? Just had it out with an RSQ3 and the brakes definitely need some attention. Im looking for a straight swap preferably, just bigger. Im running on 20' rims so plenty of room.
Its a tough one, the 2 piece disc options would be better as run cooler and will work harder, you also want to look at pad options as certain calipers dont offer great pad choices, Its also budget dependant as 2 piece discs and decent pads could be £1k plus
So many choices. Preferably I'm looking for a larger disc and caliper combo that I can swap out the old standard setup with. I'll start checking eBay once I know what I'm looking for...
Hi! I'm from Portugal, I saw the video and found it very good, very explanatory, with excellent information and simple, the necessary to make myself understood. So I have two questions; first, I have an Audi A6 avant 2.0tdi ultra (190hp), c7.5, from the year 2016 and wanted to buy the Porsche Macan brake kit (4pot / 345mm), the same one that you put as an option in your video and the first question is whether it fits on 8.5j, et 30 or 35, r19 rims? Second question is whether you know if this kit comes with 340mm or 345mm discs and if it is 340mm if the calipers in question support 345mm discs (5x112)? Thank you very much and continue with videos like this.
Hey from England, wheels it all depends on how concave / the shape they are, no 2 wheels are the same at the back so it all depends what shape wheel they are. What are the 340mm discs you speak of? Usually they are from a golf R kit or similar.
Good evening. My doubt that had a bearing with the Macan / Q5's front disc brake kit, the one you talk about in the video (4pot / 345mm), no longer exists, as I was confused with the size of the discs; it comes with 345mm discs, correct? The other question was related to the size of the rim that would support this kit, does rim R19, j 8.5, et 30 or 35 support this caliper and 345mm discs?Thank´s
@@miguelfranganito2825 yeah the disc size is 345mm, you can run it with 18” wheels as that’s what stock s4’s come with. It’s just the Caliper fowling on certain wheels depending on shape. As the brembo’s sit wider. At et 35 you should probably be ok but I couldn’t say for 100%
Excellent video, missing the Porsche 360mm 4pot and 6 pot options.
Hey thanks, at the time that was all the options i could find that were tried and tested and well documented, maybe i can revisit it at a later date with some newer options 👍
Ster, do you have part numbers?
can you tell me where you got the audi poster on the left please?
Yeah sure its from the petrol supply co if you search them online
I want to run the standard size disk on my S5 b8.5 what caliper would you recommend the Porsche or the q5 and what year?
Hey,
If you look at this video all details are in the description inc part numbers for the brembo upgrade while maintaining the stock discs
ruclips.net/video/an0v-MQtz9c/видео.html
@@TheParrottBros Great video by the way I’m actually going for The rs4/RS5 kit just need to find what year calipers And will I need to get the carriers with them?
@@jamestrippit1646 as long as it’s a b8/.5 platform it should fit, and yes you will need all accessories Caliper, carrier etc
Does the pads need to be for macan calipers?
And do they clear stock 18” audi wheels?
You would have to test fit them on 18's, but should fit as they run same disc size just may need a spacer to clear the calliper. Pads wise when you get the size you can find loads of different brands online from daily to track use ones as brembo only make a few types of pads
@@TheParrottBros thanks. Just to make sure. I need to look for pads for the macan calipers and not s4 right?
Any updates for matching rear break upgrade kit?
Hey, thanks for watching. I sold my s4 a couple years ago and have not been doing any more research. Thanks
What year Macan calipers work? Do the 2016s work?
It’s all dependant on part numbers buddy
Please, need to know if the Porsche calliper fit in a (320mm) Disk of the B8 V6 TDi ?
I have never tested it, why would you not want to use the larger discs?
@@TheParrottBros I have my discs in 320mm and I am thinking of buying the Porsche macan calipers, so I would like to know if I have to change them !
@@WissQuattro I get what you meant, but The issue is the pad will overlap the disc, if they are made for a bigger disk so using a smaller disc wont use the full potential of the caliper
Is there an updated master cylinder that can be fitted?
I’ve just bought myself some 18Z off a forum 👌🏻
Only because the brakes have never felt amazing, and I’ve a forged engine coming.
I paid 800 pound for my RS4 brakes with pads and discs in good nick
Austin Trajkovski that’s a result. There is some bargains out there to be had if your prepared to look and wait
Will the Porsche calipers fit a 2010 A5 2.0 Tfsi Quattro at all? Cheers.
Yes as same arms etc as s4, will need new discs though
I have Brembo ZR18 from Q7, 6 pot calipers...
Will they fit to A4 B8 3.0 TDI Quattro?
A4 have 320mm stock disc, but option disc in shop is 345x29 5X112.
345mm is stock s4 disc fitment. Not 100% sure If 18z’s will fit straight up but I’m sure I’ve seen a kit online with them for the b8 platform
Theoretical tuner. 380 mm goes on 18" OEM disk. 356 - for 17"
The disks are fine as you say with the sizes however sometimes the calipers cause the issue wheel dependent
@@TheParrottBros this is called the "x factor" - the individual geometry of each disc. 380 was installed on 18" OEM disk personally
a.d-cd.net/aUAAAgPKWuA-960.jpg
Will it be the same for the b8.5 allroad?
I would have thought so yes, feel free to send me a pic of your Calipers on Instagram or Facebook buddy
Will any of these fit my 2.0tdi ?
That’s a question I don’t know the answer too. It’s quite likely they will fit. I would google to see if s4 brakes fit and it yes they are all the same
is there no 6-piston upgrade option?
David Vadeby there may well be one out there, for the easy bolt on options using common platforms I didn’t find one. Thanks
Are the break lines the same or I need to get Porsche lines?
The lines are the same, just braided for a better longevity
@@TheParrottBros cheers!
The rs5 caliper fits r18 allroad wheel
Do you have any more info on this, I have a lead on some front RS5 calipers want to put them on my 2011 A4 wagon?
Does this also apply to the b8.5 s5?
Also the c7 a7 calipers are direct Bolton’s no modifications needed?
The 8.5 I’m sure would use the same Caliper fitment as only the engine is updated and the front and back is styled differently. It’s the same car underneath
I’ve never tried this I’m afraid
I believe the A6/A7 have a different lug pattern then the A4/A5 .
Wheel stud pattern and centre-bore is the same for 2010 to 2017 a7 4g & a6 models as it is the b8 A4 /s4 models.
The Parrott Bro’s thanks for the correction, I mixed up specs with the old gen q7 😓
