Trip North Episode 1... Wooleen Station WA

Wooleen Station is around 650km north of Perth in the Shire of Murchison.
The Murchison is home to 29 stations and a population up to 113, and covers over 50,000 square kilometres but has no towns in their boundaries. Most station properties are managed by family units and the main income is from meat cattle & sheep and wool.
Wooleen is now dedicated to the rejuvenation of the land after the devastating effects of over grazing and years of drought.
Station Stay tourism is a small income supplement for Wooleen and other stations in WA the Murchison.

Nice quiet camping area nobody else around. Nice equipment to drive and camp in. I can’t believe you have to pay to camp in the middle of no where in the outback.

Hi George.
The station owners have destocked the property several years back to try and let it rejuvenate after decades of over grazing.
Their income is now supplemented by Station Stay tourism so we were more than happy to support this and pay a few $$$ to enjoy their property.

Hi Dell. Just working on it now, i have dug out enough footage to put together a nice sample of the stretch of coast line from Broome to Onslow most of it the stations along 80 mile beach. I have been back at work so not a lot of time to work on it but it should be out mid week.

Hi Kristine, we didnt swim as it was quite cool. The river looked fine and if it was hotter i would have ventured in. Not sure about Lisa though 😃
