Hi Mary. This made my day! You have covered the topic so adeptly, I was spellbound! Yes, our green Rooibos is a special form of ‘green’ tea from South Africa 🇿🇦. It comes from a different plant to green tea 🍵 we normally drink. But like green tea (Camelia sinensis), green Rooibos tea (Aspalathin linearis) comes from the fresh leaves, which have not been oxidised and therefore considers green. It has a high polyphenolic content and corresponding high antioxidant potential. Thanks to sustainable farming methods our green Rooibos tea is very pure and patented extraction ensures it is highly potent!!!

@@SkinObsessedMary they said i can return it but according to their studies it helps people with melasma. However some dermatologists and users say the opposite. So i am really confused 😕

Thanks for this. Ive been using an LED mask for several years and it’s one of a combination of things that have really helped my erythematotelangiectatic rosacea to the point that it’s as if I no longer have it. I’ve been meaning to add green tea into my led routine for ages and you’ve inspired to get to it at least…I just ordered my first bottle of the serum 😎

I ordered the Maysama serum, and when I got it, I saw that several oils were in the in the ingredients. I know that oil impedes LED light from penetrating properly. I reached out to Maysama about this via their customer service chat function on their website, and received absolutely no response. That's pretty worrisome.
Sorry for the delayed response....I'm just back from a trip to the States and catching up. You should look at the study they did with Mito on the effects of the serum in conjunction with LED. The results say it all!
@@SkinObsessedMary I noted that Maysama and Mito don't actually link to a published study-- they just have summaries of this purported "study" on their websites.
We don't know how reliable the study was, or how the improvement was measured-- it doesn't say whether the results were self-reported, or measured by taking a skin biopsy (highly doubt the participants submitted to skin biopsies). Also, their is no indication that their was a followup to gauge whether the results of the "study" were reproducable.
I actually bought the serum after hearing about this "study", (already had the Mito Pro), and have used them together.
I just began thinking more deeply about the reliability or reproducability of the "study" results after I saw the Maysama green rooibos serum ingredients, and was surprised that it contains oils, as that is not advertised on the website, and anyone familiar with LED therapy knows that you dont apply oil-containing products before using LED light.
The last straw is the fact that Maysama did not reply to my question about this. Pretty questionable conduct on their part. I am quite skeptical now.
This strikes me as similar to the red-light / green tea "study" that so many people were raving about, though failing to look into how the study was conducted (was revealed to be one man experimenting on himself, and reporting 200% improvement, measured simply via his subjective judgment-- no actual scientific method used.
I am using it for about a month. I have the currentbody set for face and neck. It's set for 10 minutes I use neo genesis normally and emepelle .I will try this when I am short or rotate .I usually use in the evening. So why did you mix and match 2 brands ?
I start thinking it's a scam/ hype lol very few can actually say clearly the results.they get from LED hard to tell if it's LED or all the other stuff in their routine
I felt there was a difference for sure, as skincare alone can't deliver those kind of results. Plus, I generally isolate any new device (I don't use any others) for 60 days, just to be sure.
The only reason I have 2 different devices is because I bought the first (Omnilux) and was gifted the second (CurrentBody). I believe them to be pretty much identical so either is a great way to go.
There’s another green rooibos serum from Garden of Wisdom which costs less. I wonder if it would work.

I recently bought the Omnilux contour mask, which I love, but recently, I have been reading how red light can decrease facial fat. There have been reviews saying the Omnilux can cause this. Now, I'm nervous to continue use of it. I would love your opinion.

Ty for this info! QUESTION: Why do you not use the hydrating mask that Omnilux sells to wear while using the Omnilux Contour LED Mask, which hydrating mask includes hyaluronic acid and green tea and the note also enhances the LED results?
I live in Ireland so importing anything would cost me a fortune and to be honest, I'd read mixed reviews about masks enhancing performance. Then I met Bev - creater of Maysama - and learned more about the specific Rooibos green tea, which is different from other green teas. I can dig up some more details if you want me to.
I won't use LED without it anymore. I"m on repeat purchase and use it every day.
This is the first time I’ve heard someone put product on the face before using red light. I suppose if you do wait the 20 minutes it gives the serum time to sink in and “ get out of the way” so to speak! All the directions say clean face. I have the omnilux. Love it. But I do feel crinkly afterwards and immediately rush to moisturize. I did wonder if it was affecting my skin in a not so good way, just because of the dehydrated feeling.
No I do belive that the LED does incredible things for the skin. As for the Maysama serum, they did an independent study with Mito Red Light to test the impact of this serum on the skin and results were pretty spectacular. There are more details at the Maysama website:

I buy in bulk (the 3-pack) and use this every single day before my LED. The 20 minutes is to allow the antioxidants to absorb into the skin so it protects from potential overabundance of free radicals caused by the treatment. It's really interesting stuff.
If you live in Canada this product is not worth it…just recently they have it delivered to
your front door by Fed Ex who on top of the $45 shipping charge I initially paid when I purchased now wants $75 at the front door! very very expensive product …..plus you don t get much serum for the price….
Import charges are a bear - I have to pay crazy prices here in Ireland too. Maysama just opened a European warehouse which mean I don't have to pay them anymore. Maybe send an email to see if they have plans for Canada too?

So as to the REd Light and infra red light which you replied to my question saying yes that works well too, thank you. How close to the panel should you sit and how long should each session be ? Also what is the reason for the ten to 15 minute wait after applying the gel and how often is it safe to use it? Daily?
The panel is designed to sit right up against your skin, so you're fine there. Each mask will have its own protocol - some say 5, 10, 20 minutes so it's best to follow the manufacturer's suggestion (and I wouldn't go over). Yes, it's safe to use daily (that's what I do). As for waiting 20 minutes, that's what Maysama recommends in order to allow the antioxidants to absorb into the skin to protect from free radicals. The research they conducted (which showed the incredible results) was based on that time period. It does add time, but I'd rather increase efficacy.
Hi there. So after you use the Maysama and mask in the evening do you then just go ahead with your evening skincare routine? Do you wash your face again? I use trentinoin and am curious about using it over the green tea afterwards. Do you use trentinoin in the evening also? And if so do you use it after the Maysama and red light? Sorry for the long drawn out question.

I usually use my led omnilux mask, my skin is not easily irritated but this is my third try with Maysama and my skin was red, patchy, hot to the touch,
evrytime I use Roibos Maysama. Too bad...
Hmmm, that's surprising. Have you waited the 20+ minutes before you use the light. That's what gives greater protection to your skin.

I probably need to do a full LED mask but I'd be buying the Maysama Pulse Mask instead. I prefer their panel, but I will be takin the mask with me everywhere. Pulse light is more effective. I've done a video with founder Bev May Sanderson about pulse light if you want to check it out.

I don't know of any that have studied the effects when specifically combined with LED. I'm learning it's Rooibos tea in particular that delivers the results.
UPDATE: Another viewer says Garden of Wisdom offers a green rooibos tea. While I don't know the product I do believe GOW to make fantastic products.

How may times a week do you recommend doing to red light therapy ? Also I bought the same serum and the same red light mask 😂.. When doing other products do I apply hyaluronic acid over Mayasama ?
I personally use LED 5-6x a week. I apply the serum 20 minutes before the session and let that sink in. Then I do my LED and apply my full skincare routine after. So whatever products you generally use can go right on top 👍

I don't understand. Users talk about it soaking right in but I have an orange, sticky mess that doesn't soak in.

Maybe it went bad. I didn't see an expiration date. Someone recommended I mix it with something thin. No, it doesn't absorb.

I bought this and there after left a negaitve review on their website which states only 5 start reviews. Did Not include mine! this serum is really chaep and nasty, dries out the skin. total con, dont recommend!

This company is unethical in my opinion. They only post stellar reviews received by consumers while omitting the others. Misleading
I haven't read their reviews but I can tell you from own experience the product is great and their customer service is outstanding.
Oh no we wouldn’t want to just use the red light therapy we have to find a way to sell something else to make money..😮.
For me, it's about supercharging my LED. If I can get more effective results by pairing with this serum, then I will buy it. Of course it's not for everyone. But it's how I choose to get the most of out my device.
