I never thought about using paper first to get a rough idea of how the pattern would work, thank you.

Yeah...it is a good idea to play with before going out into the rain and trying out a new tarp-patern.

We appreciate the honesty 🤠👍, there are better shelters for the larger rectangle tarp.

following with interest, just got a 3x3 tarp to save carrying hefty tents when overnight fishing in summer. Thanks for all the vids.

    Really like this set up.
The baker's shed was my favourite but this is wider at the widest part with the poles at maximum length.
Lowering would give even more protection.
    Thank you

Awesome pitch, I like it. Would you prefer the asymmetrical holden to cover more people?

I have done something similar with the uk military basha before but it's to tiny to sleep in, works to get you out of a light rain though

Adiron only function on square tarp because it has to be symmetrical. Roof must cover the groundsheet. If done on rectangular then these two parts will go sideways so no protection from rain. But if you make it with two sides like this another guy who has the video about five unique shelters, even though he is using square tarp, it could be done with rectangular one. I am talking about the first of his set ups, the Gunjah. Much like adiron but better because you have the possibility to open sides with sticks. Soon I will post my video of making it with my tarp of 2x3

Ha, that is a smart observation. Yes, I can see that happening too.

Hi, for the DD s and DD 3x3m do you have any guy lines attached all the time or do you attach what you need for each pitch and carry them in the stuff sack?

Sorry, forgot to ask, what would you take for guys and ropes to enable all configurations of each tarp?

I personally don't have those attached. I have one pitch for calm nights (only to protect my sleeping bag, drying clothes and shoes from dew, classical wide A shape), one pitch for vertical rain or weak rain with wind from one side only (something like the one in this video), and one for strong storm (I'm about to replace my current with Papa's Strong Hexamid, which means 2 poles, 13 stakes, 1 small carabiner, 7 short ropes and 3 long ropes - in order to make the setup with doors, if I count correctly. So I will carry all this and choose the right pitch for the night based on sky, wind, evening dew and weather forecast on my friend's phone 😀 but I'm not the expert here, maybe Papa will give you better answer

@@vikmoj2426 thanks, I like the logocal approach - I will adopt it if I can 👍😀🙏
