With a 3m x 4.5m big tarp, the 1st & 2nd set up only create such a small space, its a kind of wasting ! The 3rd one is set up created much more space and more practical. For me, with such a big tarp, I can set up a " Tarp Tent with flooring " which has much more space than all your 3 set ups ....
Hey, Im doing a school project. Can you tell me the name of these shelters?
I never thought about names for these shelters! Let's improvise a little bit! The first one looks like a front spoiler for a racing car so, let's call it "the air dam enclosed shelter". The second one looks like the front part of a snow plow train so, let's call it "the snow plow enclosed shelter". The last one could be "the irregular tetrahedron shelter".
I am very interested to know in what kind of school project you need tarp shelter names and I would be very happy to help you even more!

too big tarp to be used for small configurations for one man. A lot of unused material.
If that's what you have on hand and need to get in a shelter NOW to get out of severe weather, it works just fine. Looks like with practice, most of these set ups can be done within a few minutes. Beats getting soaked and catching pneumonia hands down.
I don’t get the point of these. Water will just leak in where it’s folded. Just lay down a separate ground sheet and mound up dirt under the edges to keep out water.
Is another way as well !
