  • Railfans and employee/railfans get together twice a year at Mine Dock Park and Metro North Manitou Station. We had a great time as CSX ran a decent number of freights plus the usual Metro North and Amtrak action at Manitou. A bit of Private Car madness and an unexpected barrage of fire trucks arriving from all over. We were trapped at Manitou by this red army of fire engines. All in all, a great time had by all!!!!!!

It's so wholesome how the railroad employees are also diehard railfans haha

You should see the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern! Everyone there all the way up to the CEO (Andy Muller) are huge railfans. It's an extremely railfan friendly road.

You know it's a passion when railroad employees still go out Railfanning. These guys are all awesome. Looks like you guys had a fun time. Both Mine Dock Park and Manitou and fantastic spots to hangout at around this time of year.

Now this video is “priceless”! You, the Flying Yankee, Conductor Paul, the Joker, ( cameo appearance) and a small host of others! I should’ve been there to get autographs! Thanks!! 😊

The Hudson Line videos are great! That was one heck of a combined FD response for sparks and I really enjoyed all the time you spent on that! This revealed how much mutual aid is needed between communities for fire protection these days. Small volunteer towns are short staffed too.

I'm sorry I should have rephrased that question. I did go on a Friday later on and caught "2 1/2" trains. A intermodal a mixed freight and a short local in a 2hr+ timespan. I should have asked if any day along with Friday had about the same frequency or better. Thanks for the quick reply.
