What a charming cottage. I loved the antique and vintage pieces around the home. Like the weathered rags on the wooden floors. The cute vintage sofas by the window. Such a majestic frame by the foot of the bed. The beautiful garden set up makes me think of afternoon teas or lemonade in the sun. The list is long. If I was her guest, I would refuse to leave :D hahaha

@@marquamfurniture if you're looking for artistry in videography that captures interiors the productions of Nowness maybe a little more entertaining for you! Edited to perfection actually! As far as Quintessence goes I find the subject matter so beautiful, the production is of no consequence! As someone who studied theater production sound engineering set design I have to say the production is perfectly imperfect and adds to the feel of visiting with friends or getting a letter from a cross country sister.

Love what Ms. Stamps does with her nteriors and especially appreciate her very sound advice on matters of decor. Her comment on being so pleased when conversation ends at the dining table and she then knows her guests are enjoying her food reveals her as one answering to the highest calling one can follow and that wonderful and divinely inspired function can be expressed in one simple word: HOMEMAKER!

I'm on my 3rd re-watch of this video!. Her Cottage looks almost as if it were nestled in the British countryside. All that volume of beautiful crisp cotton florals covering the sofas, chairs, bed and window coverings looks amazing. Gorgeous flowers and her long garden table make the outside just as styled as the inside. In love

Two things stand out to me in this interesting visit with Kate Stamps. First is the idea of home design striving to be "educated." I've never heard anyone say that before, but Ms. Stamps has articulated something I've always felt. Yes, I, too, want my home to feel educated, to express some of what I've learned in my life so I can enjoy it visually and share it with others. The second standout to me is that exquisite wall color in the dining room. People would look far more attractive, dishes and cutlery far more beautiful, and food far more delicious when wrapped in such a color.

Oh my god, that front approach, the wild looking, rich green garden with that paved footpath. Oh and the sudden gorgeousness on my screen at 2:20...I'm speechless. Beautiful find! Thank you for this video. Imagine coming home to a place like this after a really busy day in a big city. Heaven.

An completely new format and approach to this video. It was interesting because the host had something to say and was articulate, but I confess the badinage between interviewer and host, adds depth, interest and dimension. And I prefer the old format with the comments and questions going back and forth! I hope you will resume that again?

Imagine sitting inside with all those charming windows open to the rich foliage outside when you suddenly catch the scent on the breeze of summer rain on its way...what a heavenly home it is.
I was out trimming roses this morning and you popped up. Miss not watching.This garden reminded me that all my trips to garden centers aren’t crazy. Plus I love color. Some times I find myself drawn to the plan hotel room design. Then I settle into one of your visits and realize no that’s not me. Another gorgeous home; so very warm and cosy with amazing gardens and outdoor space. It's refreshing to see someone not afraid to go all out in layering bold colour, textiles and prints. I love the earthiness and richness of her maximalist style and work, and this lady certainly knows how to dress a table!
As someone with several hundred books in my home, I was impressed with the large collection of books in this home. A refreshing change from homes that just show off materialistic things.

Oh imagine the joy of waking up to this episode! Sunday, tea, toast, and Quintessence. And, to my surprise you feature one of my favorite rooms of all times, the bedroom with the armchair and chessboard, it has been my top list of inspiration for years, it was so fantastic for me to see it on video in all its beauty, I always go back to it and draw from the cozy warm vibe it gives, I can see my self in this room reading wrapped up in a blanket letting the hours pass by, it is such a rare room! So great to see all the other spaces you have created too, what a true gift you have for creating warm inviting, and cozy spaces that one just wants to come and live in forever. I really enjoyed the voice-over of the video too, so clever in these times.

Bonjour Suzanna and Stacy ! Hope you are doing well my friends. Now, lets talk about this house, what comes to my mind in an instant are 3 words : "Heaven in colors. " Voilà ! Although my description is simplify there is nothing simple about this little house and her surroundings. All those layers, all those colors, thousands of books, multiple bouquets of fresh flowers adding more colors and beauty inside and out of the house. What brought joy to my heart was, the table located outside, under those magnificent trees. In this segment, the star was the use of her bleu and white dishes with the display of those vibrant bleu glasses, again with a colorful bouquet of flowers for the centerpiece . Let's not forget the quick view of the swimming pool, where this little blue statue contrasts with the green of the natural décor: magic ! To end my long comment (as usual) this was a delightful visit of a talented designer. Thank you ladies, until next time, stay safe and keep enjoying and sharing beauty to the world. - Rosalind -

Hi Rachel, I’m sorry to say that is one of the colors I mixed myself, almost 30 years ago. It is a water based glaze in a soft blue brushed on over a cream oil base paint. It makes the color semi transparent, as blues can sometimes be quite bright. Wish I had an easy solution for you!! I’m so happy you liked the video- the ladies of Quintessence are fabulous.
