Its all about OEM+ look on fords for me they had it nailed for me with the Rs's they only need couple touchs here and there exterior wise for me the buzz is the engines ect. Never get bored of them and genuinely interested and suprised by the dedicated few who really take it too the next level. ✌
I want a cozzie!!! My dad worked at ford and I grew up in a small farmer village in the Netherlands where the present of the year was every time he showed up with the fastest car in the wide area. I’m 43 now, but it left its marks and explains me watching these videos. What a car. Just have to save some 40k euro’s..
The guy seems a very knowledgeable and genuine guy, I can imagine the response for these wheels will be amazing as said previously the Cossie owners have waited a long time for these.. good luck with the sales...
I follow Steve's build on Facebook,a very interesting guy and he really knows his stuff regarding design and manufactuer of bespoke parts on his Cossie.Great video as usual Adam.
I follow the build of the RSR 500 Raptor on Facebook already. This man is incredibly smart! Steve's posts are long but very detailed in what he is doing. And when he posted he was doing the wheels I thought this guy is full on. But being in Australia I doubt we'll see a set of these wheels here. Be a shame not to. Adam thanks for doing this video.
I really like the look but the only thing is they look a little bit too big as we’re so used to seeing the cars with the smaller 15” wheels and that retro look. I think I’d maybe have done them in 16” and a tiny bit wider to fill out the instep the original ones have. Just a personal preference. Cracking job though and such an interesting video Adam. Awesome 👏
Having been in family business metal manufacturing using CAD and stuff back in early 00's, I know the equipment bis expensive. He would be well proud of the product he has made, they are a piece of art. Really units the cars.
I'd like to see a handing test because both my Corrado and Golf VR6s had bigger 17inch wheels fitted and I changed them back to std sizes because the handling department was impaired by the bigger wheels and made both cars felt like they were on tip toes but they looked good with bigger wheels but I still swapped them, solely because of the diving feel.
Was great to meet you in the shop this morning. Fantastic channel. Here is info about the sierra shell. Best regards Paul During the life of the car, two different styles of 3-door body were used; one with two pillars rear of the door, looking very much like a modified 5-door frame, as used on the high-performance XR4i; and a one-pillar design used on standard-performance 3-door hatchbacks and also at the other end of the scale as the basis for the very high-performance RS Cosworth.
Im an Evo man, owning a 5 and 6 RS, but i really appreciate Cosworths and guys like this still developing new parts for them. Those wheels make a huge difference, visually to both those cars. I wonder if he does bigger wheels for the Escort Cosworth? .Its a shame that parts for both Evos and Cosworths are getting so expensive ,as they get rarer, and the values shoot up.Its getting to the stage that they are becoming unobtainable for a lot of people that would actually drive them and enjoy them, rather than store them and make money on them.
That’s wicked. He could be onto a winner. A big market there not just for ford wheels but for other brands. I’ve got stock 16’s on my gc8 wrx and would love them in 17’s or 18’s
Hi Adam, don't they look luvvvvvvvly, can imagine not going to be cheap but can understand what it takes to build, get tested to the highest standards, shipped etc, etc. Great video. Alex.
I think these wheels are amazing the concept looks fantastic on a Escort Cosworth 18" I have mixed feelings about a 17" would it be terrible to say 16" suites a Sierra as a standard alloy with a larger profile tyre
I have to comment again sorry but....This is England's Mechanical Engineering/Design/manufacturing skill and experience on show here! And, by the way this venture is obviously driven by this blokes passion for Sierra Cosworths! Bloody impressive video this mind. I Hope Paul Linfoot and Steve have each other's contact details mind Adam :-) Bloody good video this I hope it gets shared massive!
never been a fan of aftermarket wheels, but these look spot-on. this bloke knows his stuff! surely someone in GB can do a limited production run? i bet you hope santa stops off in fulwell + drops some down a chimney this year ....
Really like the idea.must say I prefer the newer saph rims but the old 3 door ones it's just the outer bit looks a bit long but maybe that's cuz we used to seeing the older ones but fantasic job I appreciate the effort he gone through to design these the ford boys will really like these 17 in keeping with oem
FEA - Finite Element Analysis. I did my final year dissertation on an own design alloy wheel for an Austin mini, I graduated in 2007, I bet FEA packages have come along since then.
I ran 235/40/17 rear tyre on an 8j wheel at ET37 on a lowered car, the car on track and have had issues with rubbing. Arches were not rolled either. That was on a 2wd Saph, obviously a semi slick at 215 would be as wide as a 235 road tyre.
I worked with someone the week I bought a gsi 2000 a work mate bought a Cossie in the 4 years I had my cavalier my mate went through 8 cossies 6 sapphires an Rs 500 and an Escort Cossie all coming from well lane turbos Batley, this was about 92-93 to 97ish my cavalier was 3 years old when I bought his cars were all roughly the same year other than the D reg 500 and m reg escort
Love the 3 door meshies but not sure on saph ones think it's one size too much. The saph sit too high I pics maybe a little bit more of a drop and I'll change my mind
Seeing 15" for so long on these cars 17 " looked a bit off at first. But the more I look through the car design of today they look right. But should we be doing that?
I like the idea but for me they just look wrong and I must be the only one who thinks this. I'd say they'd be better being wider with a different offset so that they fill out the arches for a nicer stance on the 3 door. Top work by the guy though, they're obviously proving very popular.
Good video, loved that magenta cossie, reminded me of my 2wd from back in the day F605 TEV. Ford should have made the lattice wheel 17" as standard, the wheel looks so much better in that size. I hated the 15" lattice wheels fitted to mine so the first mod was aftermarket 17" !
@@daboy12s your reply got my curiosity going l must say. My old Cossie still exists, currently on SORN but presumably not been on the road since 2012 as no tax since then !
The lattice saph wheels r stunning mate, defo learnt something about alloys and manufacturing. Thank fuck we have true ford nuts left who put there skills and $ where there mouths are. Wicked video mate hope you're able to follow where this goes mate.. Peace and thanks Sid
17 inch low profile road tyres weren't developed 36 years ago when the Sierra Cosworth was originally launched. 15 inch was considered to be a large rim size at the time.
Awesome, been following this build on Facebook, I love the engineering of it all those wheels will be well worth the money and a drop in the ocean with current prices of cossies
In my opinion that's the one thing ford should have done from the factory was fit 17" wheels to all the Sierra RS models from the 80's and 90's, big fan of the sapphire wheels 👍 shame there's only a few sierra's on the roads now 😩
With the 8 inch would you have to recalbrat the speedometer? What tire would keep it in line with the Speedo, have they been stress testing? Love the channel 👍 and the wheels 👍
Makes such a difference. I’ve always thought, there has to be a market for someone to make the escort RS turbo alloys that all go the same way. Always annoyed me.
This chap is in no way a vague person. He deals in facts and details. Very impressive to get a chance to have him on your channel.
He's nailed it with these larger wheels. They look OEM+
Its all about OEM+ look on fords for me they had it nailed for me with the Rs's they only need couple touchs here and there exterior wise for me the buzz is the engines ect. Never get bored of them and genuinely interested and suprised by the dedicated few who really take it too the next level. ✌
Absolutely right there

Both sets of wheels look mint and attention to detail is spot on. Fair play to him for making them and I’m sure he’ll sell a fair few sets.
I follow Steve's build on Facebook,a very interesting guy and he really knows his stuff regarding design and manufactuer of bespoke parts on his Cossie.Great video as usual Adam.

Nice to see a professional doing a proper job on designing and delivering these!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

That’s some dedication right there. Anything is possible in the world of 3D scanning. Great content and really interesting.👍
Hi Adam, don't they look luvvvvvvvly, can imagine not going to be cheap but can understand what it takes to build, get tested to the highest standards, shipped etc, etc. Great video. Alex.
I was only looking at this on Sunday on Facebook the lattice wheels looked lovely
I think these wheels are amazing the concept looks fantastic on a Escort Cosworth 18" I have mixed feelings about a 17" would it be terrible to say 16" suites a Sierra as a standard alloy with a larger profile tyre
16“ tyres are expensive and few and far between especially for a decent tyre of you have a decent amount of power.
I have to comment again sorry but....This is England's Mechanical Engineering/Design/manufacturing skill and experience on show here! 17" sharktooths would be epic too, lattice look fantastic in 17s
Sapphire look mint though clever man
never been a fan of aftermarket wheels, but these look spot-on. this bloke knows his stuff!
surely someone in GB can do a limited production run?
i bet you hope santa stops off in fulwell + drops some down a chimney this year ....
He knows his stuff !
They do look awesome fill the arch's that little bit more 👍
My comment on ya last video was about a company making bigger old wheels - This must have been the guy I read about !!!
hey it me,,,,,,,ive got a 15" crack pipe,,,id like a 17" crack pipe,,,will this guy sort me out ? heuheuheu
I know there is a company called autostar that do 18inch escort cossie wheels
Possibly one of your best videos, enjoyed this one.
Really informative upload and the 17inch sapphire wheel will certainly make it easier to clean 👍
Fascinating stuff. Learnt more in 17 mins than I did at school lol
They look amazing lovely looking wheels in the bigger size
FEA - Finite Element Analysis. I did my final year dissertation on an own design alloy wheel for an Austin mini, I graduated in 2007, I bet FEA packages have come along since then.
Adam what a humble guy and so noligable on wheels fantastic. You want a set don't you.
I ran 235/40/17 rear tyre on an 8j wheel at ET37 on a lowered car, the car on track and have had issues with rubbing. Arches were not rolled either. That was on a 2wd Saph, obviously a semi slick at 215 would be as wide as a 235 road tyre.
I understand it's easier and cheaper to find tyres for a 17" but I do think 16" would look better IMO.
Brilliant, very impressed 👍🏼
He needs to expand and make all 80s and 90s car wheels bigger
Much better than the originals
Hail hail 🍀
Brilliant 👍😯. Ford should've done this in the first place, although 15" was considered quite a large diameter in the mid to late 80s.
Fantastic video Adam 👏👏 love the technical talk. They look amazing !! OEM plus
Your 🤔 Its just the price . 🤣
17inch 3drs 😍They would look awesome on a moonstone 3dr they look well on his white 3dr😁.
Defo agree with the 2wd white Saph with the Gingercators in
He’s missed a trick not making them wider and with less offset so they sit better in the arches!
100%
Been wanting 17” shark tooth alloys for the cossie for years
Love em! would love some 17in lattice wheels on my sapph
Love the 3 door meshies but not sure on saph ones think it's one size too much. The saph sit too high I pics maybe a little bit more of a drop and I'll change my mind
Interesting idea. Would love some 18” 850R Volans lol
Keep us posted really want the 3dr wheels mine are 15 want them in 17 always have for years. 👍🏻
Should have been 8x17 and a slightly more negative offset
Very clever man I love watching stuff like this 👌
Adam your such a selfless guy , Top man Adam top comtent
Surely there must be a UK manufacturer that can help out? I’m sure on of the big names would love to get involved.
Probably won’t pay in small batch runs lot of work for not much return
Seeing 15" for so long on these cars 17 " looked a bit off at first.
But the more I look through the car design of today they look right.
But should we be doing that?
Awesome. We'll done that man.
That's brilliant, always thought these cars need a bit more but stay original.
I like the idea but for me they just look wrong and I must be the only one who thinks this.
I'd say they'd be better being wider with a different offset so that they fill out the arches for a nicer stance on the 3 door.
Top work by the guy though, they're obviously proving very popular.
Nothing quite as cool as old school cool 👌 gonna throw a guess out at 4k a set 🤔
I'd go 8 inch width sit nicer on the arch kit
Good video, loved that magenta cossie, reminded me of my 2wd from back in the day F605 TEV. Ford should have made the lattice wheel 17" as standard, the wheel looks so much better in that size.

Sorry to hear that. I wish I still owned it, but divorce forced sale. I am sure it's worth a lot more than the £4k that I sold it for 19 years ago !
They look fabulously
Set for the 3dr when he does them 😎
they are all sorts of win!!!! this big thing in south africa oem wheels in big diameter 17/18 ect in oem wheels vaux volks ecet ect
The lattice saph wheels r stunning mate, defo learnt something about alloys and manufacturing. Thank fuck we have true ford nuts left who put there skills and $ where there mouths are. Wicked video mate hope you're able to follow where this goes mate.. Peace and thanks Sid
Wheels look grand, another good 👍 video 📹 Adam
Ford should of made them in 17" think the 15" wheel's just look lost in the archers
Them new wheels look 👌🏽 👌🏽
17 inch low profile road tyres weren't developed 36 years ago when the Sierra Cosworth was originally launched. 15 inch was considered to be a large rim size at the time.
These bigger sizes are the dogs bollocks
Excellent job mate 👍🏻
Awesome, been following this build on Facebook, I love the engineering of it all those wheels will be well worth the money and a drop in the ocean with current prices of cossies
Brilliant video, love the attention to detail
Any bloke that where's a tag Monaco has to have impeccable tastes.
Hate to say it but Yes needed for yonks fills the arches nicely..
Hmm very interesting especially as the 15" tyres are difficult to get a quality tyre.
Wonder what the cost is🤔
Hi bud, I want those cossie lattice wheels. I'm in south africa and here we have the 3.0 models. Can't find cossie wheels here
Those wheels look savage Adam
They are perfect
That was very interesting 👍
must get a set for my 3 door :)
Brilliant always loved the design of both these wheels .
In my opinion that's the one thing ford should have done from the factory was fit 17" wheels to all the Sierra RS models from the 80's and 90's, big fan of the sapphire wheels 👍 shame there's only a few sierra's on the roads now 😩
Brilliant there class good on him for doing them and that’s great news for the blue oval gang
Genius that guy is!
Great video Adam and theyre just right for todays world 🌎 👌
With the 8 inch would you have to recalbrat the speedometer? What tire would keep it in line with the Speedo, have they been stress testing? Love the channel 👍 and the wheels 👍
The width of the wheel has no affect on the speedometer. Only the diameter of the wheel.
Are these available to buy still, ?? Is like some on my 3door 😍
Shark tooth next 👍🏼. I reckon they’d look the best
Those 17's look absolutly mahoosive
I thought they were 19s! Yeah it’s a testament to how just how small ‘big’ old family saloons now look.
Those 17's look great.👌👌
They look decent
Makes such a difference.
I’ve always thought, there has to be a market for someone to make the escort RS turbo alloys that all go the same way.
Always annoyed me.
Like this....Sapphire rim 👍
Adam, Ask him to do you some 16inch three spoke vauxhall nova wheels that would be so good
what tire size use the 17 and 18 inch rim?
Please don't rest the wheel against the bodywork! 😂 Lovely motor 👌
BBS centre lock nuts are 90mm
Where can I get a set of them sapphire 17s😍
Very interesting ✌🏼
I can appreciate the work that’s gone into the process…however neither wheel works for me. Just doesn’t look “right” especially the 3door wheels.
Would love the sapphire wheels for my ST150
Got to be at least £1k a corner nice job love these video's ❤
£4k are you mad 😂
It's definitely not going to be cheap , he explained the costs to produce and ship in . How much you saying 🤔
Very nice indeed, good job
ask him for a stl file of that wheel i would love to make arange of cossie wheel clocks
Very interesting video Adam
