Sadly I've learned that you have to exercise to play sports to avoid injuries. So less time playing more time in the gym.

It's nice to see some of the 'behind the scenes' of badminton to see how hard they've to work. If Lin Dan trains hard like in this video, he may stand a slim chance with All England 2020 and Tokyo 2020. That said, the living legend will always be remembered as the GOAT.

Would like to see what Denmark does differently from Asian countries. As a kinesiologist and athletic trainer, I've noticed that many of the drills and exercises shown here were abandoned decades ago in the western world in favour of more functional training backed by scientific literature. I remember Matthias Boe saying something about deep, heavy squats and freeweighrs being staples of his training (unlike the machines and light quarter squats shown here). I would guess that countries like Denmark are ahead in terms of off-court training protocols, and this may be why they can compete with much larger countries that have a greater interest in badminton, and why their players have greater longevity on average.

no9scrum uh yeah they do, I have been playing with barefoot shoes for more than 2 years and it's been absolutely great, I see so many players injure themselves with conventional shoes.

For badminton one needs big ripped legs for quick and efficient motion. And dense strong lean muscles on upper body for quick raquect movement. You may try hard building bulky muscle in upper body, but ultimately it will get catabolised during intensive raquect play( lightning smashes), making raquect swings as energy efficient and quick as possible.
