    The image quality on this whole video is insane... I'm blown away by your editing, sir!

    ironically, both MD/Genesis and Saturn are not supposed to be that crystal clear to allow regular CRT TVs to mix neighbor transparent and interlaced graphics together for correct visuals and colors. I think using "NTSC"-like rendering plugins on emulators is the best choice for gamers without CRT, some of those filters and shaders are really impressive 👍

    Sonic 3D blast was developed by Traveller's Tale, a company/team that deserves their own video on how they pushed console's capabilities, even more impressive in the older generations. The game itself is far from one of my favorites, but it was impressive how they managed to deliver it technically. The CGI cutscene in the beginning, by its own, in a hardware like the Genesis, was no small feat.
    Another game to check what the hardware was capable of is "The Adventures of Batman and Robin", developed by Clockwork Tortoise team. They were able to achieve some visual effects that most believed to be possible only in the SNES. It is tough as nails though, so it may be a little difficult to be able to see all the game has to offer.

      The intro cutscene is indeed really impressive! The Batman game you mentioned is also very impressive. I remember playing it back when it was released… i haven’t touched it in a while though! Thanks for the comment!

    I really liked your video. Impressive capture, excellent script, narration, and audio, and the editing is simply fantastic. The Mega Drive holds a special place in my heart as it was my first console. Your video brought back incredible memories from my childhood and a nostalgic vibe. You nailed it in the video, bro!

    Funny some games look "wrong" with such crystal clarity, like Sonic, but ithers look amazing, MegaMan, imo.
    Thank you for showing us this :)

      Yeah, to me most games suffer without a proper CRT display or filter. The CRT’s really blended pixels together and created a feeling of smoother images and more colors. Thanks for the comment!

    Congratulations VGS you found the finest revision motherboard MegaDrive - and for an incredible price too. When more people find out about this model, it’ll be much higher in price. The difference is stark.

    uhm not to be an ass but considering the price of all the cabling and converters would you not be better off trying to buy a Mega SG from analogue?

    • @VideoGameShowcase
      @VideoGameShowcase  9 месяцев назад

      For a single console (in the case of the Mega SG a few since it also runs Master System and Game Gear) yes! But for a bunch of consoles I still think in the end a converter / scaler and cables is a better choice! It also depends of what you wanna do… to some people nothing beats real hardware. Personally, I feel like the MiSTer FPGA is the best choice… it’s super precise and also ends up being cheaper than keeping a bunch of old consoles organized and maintained!

    What version of Sonic 1 is that? It's the European cover along with languages but with the Genesis logo. Is it Canadian? I remember a Golden Axe with a similar mix of European cover but with the Genesis logo and if I remember it was Canadian. Also notice that below it says "For use with the Sega *Mega Drive* Video Entertainment System" (and not Genesis)

    I did finish Chakan back in the day but it is depressing as a game. I mostly only played Japanese developed games but Ecco and its sequel are some of the best 16 bit games ever made and they were not Japanese.

    ... Every genesis or mega drive outputs this signal.

    • @VideoGameShowcase
      @VideoGameShowcase  10 месяцев назад +1

      I’d disagree. I’ve seen much noisier signals coming from other Genesis / Mega Drive consoles honestly! Still, glad to know you’ve seen more consoles displaying crystal clear video without mods or even maintenance! Thanks!!!

      @@VideoGameShowcase some different revisions will be better or worse but they all natively support RGB out. A first gen first revision genesis with high definition graphics on the label will output this just as well as a mega drive. It'll be better on a ntsc device as it is 60hz

    • @VideoGameShowcase
      @VideoGameShowcase  10 месяцев назад +1

      Ah the RGB I had heard about, it’s insane that the Genesis did that yet so many consoles that came after it had much noisier signals! Thanks again!!!

    • @welcometoGARYVILLE
      @welcometoGARYVILLE 9 месяцев назад +1

      This is factually incorrect - there are a lot of variants and only this Japanese first issue model outputs the best video and sound. So much so that it doesn’t even benefit from the RGB bypass mod you can do on other models. Believe me, I researched a ton and hunted for the exact model as this - other revisions have some really noticeable downgrades, especially when it comes to sound output.

    Mine still works looks the same too mine lol. a genesis hardly breaks down. Unless u spill something in it or drop it too many times. They are pretty tough

      Yeah, they’re impressive! But I’ve heard from a lot of people and even technicians that not all look that good. Even my X’Eye with proper care is not much better than that! Thanks for watching 😀
