Thanks, not much to be found on two hand overhead casting, but I'm quite sure as well, that thát is going to be the future of coastal fly fishing, so much easier....
    - One thing, I would have loved to see the cast properly, You show the fundamentals pretty close up, but it would have been nice to see it from slightly longer away, and maybe further away as well, and both with a repetition in slow-mo....;- )

As someone who fishes striper/blues on the east coast, the 9wt version is a great starter/back up rod imo. Slightly underpowered, making it good for back bays and calm surf. If I really need to punch through with larger flies, it simply doesn't stack up to my Beulah Opal 9/10. Not knocking this rod at all, especially at its price point. It's just that you will soon be looking to upgrade to a Beulah or Thomas & Thomas if you want to pursue TH surf fishing in the northeast.

What kind of line do you use for that rod

I just bought a 6 wt boost and put a 175 grain SA Amplitude Infinity on it. Nice! Need that heavier line on this fast action rod…easy casting, tight loops. Great casting combo (nymphs) and works great in wind conditions.

This modern action rod is for me to expensive. And not usefull.

      Action to stiff.

175 grains is light, to the extent the AFTMA target line weight is 160 grains for a 6 weight,

@@fritzraddatz5980 needs a heavier line than what you are probably using.

My cast fell apart after about a month of striper fishing... come back to this video and I have hope again.

Using a stripping basket with this type of rod from the beach?

@@thomastuorto9929 Yep, works wonderfully, especially for crabs.

This rod is a complete noodle and I am curious how it is supposed to be designed for overhead casting. It can’t even stop the backcast without buckling. 8 wt over lined with an 8 wt shooting head
